Ashley Gordon, MD, FACS
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

As a female plastic surgeon and someone who's had cosmetic surgery, I offer a unique perspective and approach. I was drawn to plastic surgery for it's combination of science, art and creativity. I love the challenges, innovations and opportunity to help patients be the best version of themselves.

The best decision I've made for my body

Dr. Reid and his staff are top-notch. He assessed my situation and what I wanted to accomplish and walked me through the best path. Surgery went really well, his facility is super nice, and I was made comfortable throughout. They answered every question/email that I had following my surgery. This was the best decision I've made for my body, and I don't think I'd have the results I currently...

Highly Recommend Dr. Reid

I lost 200 lbs after having bariatric surgery. I had been contemplating having the loose skin removed but it was meeting Dr. Reid and his team that helped me finalize the decision. He discussed the best options, a 360 body lift, and was upfront about the whole process. I highly recommend Dr. Reid and his whole team if you are looking for a surgeon.

250cc in right and 270cc in left

I wanted a boob job that kept me in my petite frame. I am 5'3. 105 lbs. I didn't want to look too top heavy and my surgeon did amazing. I didn't like the 300 sizers so he stayed below that. I am currently on day 3. I had my surgery Thursday morning and it is now Saturday. First day was a breeze, felt nothing but tightness and sore. Second day was also fine up until the nighttime. My incisions...

Already more than ecstatic about how things are looking

I had lipo 360 and a tummy tuck by Dr. Reid and my overall experience was amazing. I'm only seven weeks post op, but am already more than ecstatic about how things are looking. The recovery wasn't as bad as I expected and the nurses always welcomed any questions or concerns I had no matter how often I called or texted. This is a very intense procedure and I had a lot of inquiries which they...

127 Q&A

Q: I’m a circus flyer (aerial silks) and I’m looking to get breast implants, would you suggest under or over the muscle?
Answered by Dr. ReidFebruary 14, 2020

A: It's a great question, but I still feel like the advantages of placing the implant in the submuscular position out weight any disadvantages, even in your situation.  Ultimately, putting the implant under the muscle gives the best long-term result and lowest amount of complications, even in patients with a lot of upper body (pec muscle) strength.  Just choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in this surgery, and you'll do great.  Good luck!

Q: Can I get 565cc implants?
Answered by Dr. ReidFebruary 14, 2020

A: Hi Sincere.  As is always the case, it's hard to give great input without seeing you in person.  But based on your measurements, that width seems a little high.  Perhaps you would be better served to visit with someone open to using other brands of implants.  Sientra implants are great implants, but so are the Natrelle Soft-touch implants, and these offer some higher projections.  It wouldn't be bad, to at least know your options.  Best of luck.

Q: High platelet count. Is it still possible to have a breast augmentation and 360 BBL surgery?
Answered by Dr. ReidAugust 15, 2019

A: The good news is that you found out about the abnormal labs before you're all set for surgery.  Obviously, you will want to do everything that you can to find out why your platelets are so high.  Ultimately, you will hope to have them lowered by the time of surgery, but there are options that would still allow you to have surgery and medically manage your risks around the time of surgery.  So complete your work-up and recognize that very likely you are still going to be able to have the surgery that you desire.  Make sure to choose a plastic surgeon that is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and that uses an accredited surgical facility with and MD anesthesiologist.  This is the safest that you can possible by with surgery.  Good luck, and I wish you well.

Q: I’ve just been diagnosed with Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) disease. Is it possible to have a mommy makeover?
Answered by Dr. ReidMay 20, 2019

A: This doesn't necessarily rule you out from having surgery, it will just require planning your part and the part of your plastic surgeon.  You will need to make sure that your hematologist is aware and on board with your surgery.  He or she will give advice to your surgeon on the best way to manage your problem during and around surgery.  Equally important is choosing a board certified plastic surgeon with experience with treating challenging medical problems and great experience in breast and body contouring.  This would include having and anesthesiologist that they trust and an accredited surgical facility.  Again, with good planning and the correct team, I think your goals could be met.  Good  luck to you.

Q: How soon after my last chemo treatment could I get a tummy tuck? Is it possible to do lipo and a tummy tuck together?
Answered by Dr. ReidMay 20, 2019

A: I hope you're doing well with your treatment and wish you a speedy recovery.  I would recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks after finishing chemotherapy before undergoing surgery.  This also depends on you "numbers" and that you have recovered sufficiently.  Your oncologist will help you determine this along with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this type of surgery.  Good luck...you deserve to feel good about your body, and I wish you well.
