Tanuj Nakra, MD, FACS

Dr. Nakra is a gifted surgeon and an artist. He performed a difficult eye surgery (revision) for me four years ago and I rewarded myself this year with a face and necklift along with a lip lift. The results are incredible and natural. I had very little brusing and was able to return to public after 12 days. The pain following surgery was manageable. Dr. Nakra's nurse Meghan removed the stitches 7 days after surgery ( painless procedure) Overall the entire experience was excellent. From scheduling ( thank you Elizabeth! ) to surgery to follow up I have the highest reccomendation for Dr. Nakra and his team. If you are considering cosmetic surgery I urge you to consider Dr. Nakra. He is a brilliant surgeon and sincerely genuine human being. And you don't need to go to Beverely HIll's for surgery. Texas has the best, right in Austin.

I had great experience with Dr. Nakra, Meghan and the staff at T.O.C. Austin. I had upper bleph with lower eye laser resurfacing, upper and lower facelift with buccal fat removal and neck lift. The surgery lasted about 5 hours and I stayed at a hotel for two nights afterwards. Dr. Nakra took the drains out about 36 hours later. I was apprehensive to have drains but I truly feel that is the reason I healed so quickly. I also worried about pain but after two days on mild prescription pain meds Tylenol and ibuprophen handled any discomfort. I honestly had very little pain. After 3 months I had feeling back around the face and the tightness in neck completely gone. I am thrilled with the results which are very natural. I cannot say enough about how happy I am each day when I look in the mirror. I would highly recommend Dr. Nakra if you are considering facial rejuvenation of any type.

I interviewed more than one surgeon before I decided I wanted to do something about my upper and lower eyelids. I was also curious if anything could be done for my saggy neck. When I met Dr. Nakra for the initial consultation he spent time with me and answered all of my questions. I appreciated the fact that he didn't rush me and that he listened to what I wanted. He thoroughly explained the eyelid and neck lift procedures and stressed that he wanted me to look refreshed but not like I had cosmetic work done. I knew after the consult that I wanted him to do both procedures. In the attached before and after photos you can see that he removed just enough from my upper lids and completely eliminated my under eye bags. My healing time was much quicker than I expected and I was able to return to the gym in no time. I did not attach any neck photos because I failed to take “before pictures”. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Nakra or his staff. His nurse Meghan was the best too. She responded quickly to every single question I had. I'm extremely satisfied with my results. I give everyone at TOC an A++. The entire experience was 100% positive in every way from start to finish. If you are looking for a truly gifted surgeon then I recommend scheduling a consult with Dr. Nakra.

Dr Nakra was the first and last of five surgeons I interviewed. He always stood out for how he listened, responded and collaborated with me as a patient, and has the absolute best bedside manner (as do his fellows and nurses). We decided to do two surgeries to see how my eyes healed before doing a face lift. If you have time, I highly recommend. First was an upper/lower bleph with under-eye laser resurfacing for crepe-y skin; two months later was a deep plane face/neck lift plus brow lift and chin implant. I was nervous about impacting the look of my eyes with the brow lift since they're my biggest feature -- but the results were perfect. The hardest parts were tolerating the stiffening stitches around the eyes, and then the tightness in my neck before the muscles began to relax. Now, at 58, I literally have NO bags or wrinkles under my eyes, and a beautiful jawline I've never had before. Three weeks post-face lift I was attending SXSW parties with everyone asking "who was your surgeon!?". I feel so emotional about what Dr. Nakra did for me and will be forever grateful. Thank you Dr. Nakra! Updated on 3 Aug 2023: Well after everything has settled into place. Still couldn't be happier and am now extra careful to wear hats in the sun :) I would do it all over again if I had to without a single hesitation or change.

After cataract surgery, I no longer needed glasses. That's when I realized the glasses had disguised eyebags, droopy eyelids and more. My cataract surgeon recommended Dr. Nakra. From my first consult, Dr. Nakra and staff treated me with utmost professionalism. I knew I was in good hands. Outpatient surgery went well as did followups. When my stitches came out, I was amazed by the results. I no longer looked 76; I looked 55. I love looking in the mirror now.

I had an eyelid lift, forehead lift, scar revision on the scalp from a surgery earlier in life, and some fat grafting. It was a lot of work! Dr Nakra and his team were exceptional, and my results are a total grand slam home-run. 10 to 20 years off at least- and people (and my kids, who are brutally honest lol) say I look refreshed- not 'different'. My recovery was swift, with minimal bruising and discomfort. I was only down for one week- went back to work the second week. And the Dr, office staff, and nurses remained available to us throughout the whole journey. Dr Nakra is totally a top notch surgeon. He is/was engaging, friendly, personable, and made me feel like there was more hope for my outcome than I'd dared to guess. He came up with a plan for my very individual and challenging case, which included some extra work as I mentioned above. I could never have known to ask for those other steps. He was so thorough and interested that I felt completely confident in choosing him as my surgeon. His office staff and nurses were great to work with as well. The scheduling and administrative parts were easy- and the surgery center is next door to his office so it all felt like a nice, tight organization. They worked with our insurance for part of the procedure, and the rest of the pricing was very reasonable- again for the amount of work I had done, I know I got a really good value. If you're considering this type of procedure, I 11/10 recommend you make sure to visit this practice, and in particular, Dr Nakra.

Super happy w/my upper blepharoplasty! … I was not an easy case. Namely, I had a very mild amount of sagging skin that had developed (40’s age related) atop my already hooded eyes. The thing is, I liked my eye hooding. I just wanted that excess skin gone. So, I was quite picky about how much skin I wanted removed: enough to curb the aging look, not too much to change my eyes shape. I spent days & months scouring reviews of all the doctors from Texas to California… and I found my perfect surgeon with Dr Nakra. I consulted with a total of 4 FACS surgeons, 2 of which specialized in eyes and I met with Dr Nakra twice. The defining moment for me was in my second office visit when I saw the women in the waiting room. They were all post-surgery. One fully healed, another with a bandage on her head, and all looked so naturally beautiful. They raved about Dr Nakra. They had all told all their friends about him. And one seemed to have the inside scoop that he’s where the doctors went to get their face worked on. Well, I’m not old enough for a face lift… and I didn’t need the whole endoscopic forehead eye fat transfer combo pack some of them had undergone... I just needed a natural snip of the lids to maintain my natural look while nipping the saggy eyes in the bud. (with his glorious C02 fractional on the full orbital area which I highly recommend!) But surely if they were all happy, gorgeous, and not overdone, then I would be too. Right? Right. Dr Nakra nailed it. The surgery was a sinch. Super easy. I did local anesthesia, so I was awake. Everyone was lovley. No bruising. No pain. Just puffy and red eyes. I needed a full 2 weeks of time off. And I took the first week off from the mirror (which I would encourage you to do). I went back in public week 3, though my eyes didn’t really look what I would consider to be normal until roughly 6 weeks, though only from residual though minor swelling. At 2 months, I was likely the only one noticing anything off, and at 3 months, I LOVE the results! Dr Nakra is an artist at heart, and he won’t approach cookie cutter style… he will work closely with your goals and craft an approach according to your unique face as well as your unique goals. A heart full of gratitude to Dr Narka! A huge recommend!

Dr. Nakra is a very busy doctor so the only issue was getting into the office for my first consultation. No problems after that. All went as smooth as possible. He (or his staff employees) was available to answer any issues that came up after surgery and into recovery. I am very happy with my results!

Fantastic experience from start to finish. I waited a long time for this procedure and it was well worth the wait. I had my original consult in 2019 but was not ready to move forward with it. I had another consult in 2020 but cancelled my procedure when my kids' summer camp was cancelled, and finally pulled the trigger in 2021. I wish I would have moved forward with the procedure in 2019! Dr Nakra listened to my concerns, discussed the best course of action, let me know what to expect and what the recovery would be like, showed me multiple before and after images (I was nervous about looking unnatural and permanently surprised) and wow, he did an amazing job. I am a little over a month out and my scars are already almost nonexistent, the ends of my brows are now on my brow bone vs below, and the weight is off my eyelids. I continue to get compliments regarding how refreshed I look after the summer break.

Prior to COVID-19, I was traveling 100+ days a year. The airlines were about to start charging for the bags under my eyes! Since I had some down time, I thought it was time to check those bags to a permanent destination. Enter Dr. Nakra! He was very thorough in the consultation which is refreshing.He really took his time to listen to me, answer all of my questions and made suggestions along the way. He did all of this with patience and grace. The final decision for me was a lower blepharoplasty and brow lift.The healing process is still taking place – I am 6 weeks in, but I could tell early on that he performed a miracle. He is a top notch surgeon and really cares about his patients.
