With over 25 years of experience, I have focused my practice solely on rejuvenation of the aging face. My goal is to provide a very personalized experience and exceptional results for my patients. Treatment recommendations are tailored to the each individual based on their unique goals.
From the very first moment to my most recent follow up visit, Dr. Boggess and staff were amazing! I originally saw him for blepharoplasty due to severe right eyelid droop with significant asymmetry, but during the week preceding my visit, I looked through his before and after photos again. I noted that his neck lifts and fat transfers produced amazing results. Additionally, he understood fully that I didnât want to appear to be a 64 year-old attempting to look like a teen. I wanted to be the best version of myself and perhaps roll back the clock a decade or so. Dr. Boggess accomplished all of that and more. Although itâs not the first consideration, his procedures were shorter in duration than other surgeons had projected. He did not require general anesthesia and by the way, I had a great nurse anesthetist! The added bonus was that the total cost for a full face lift was 50% less than the two other surgeons Iâd recently consulted. My experience has been 100% positive but Iâll add that for anyone considering this surgery, the first two weeks of recovery require some preparation. I shouldâve been less stubborn and utilized more of the pain medication provided by Dr. Boggess. Iâd also emphasize the importance of a plan to have a good recliner to aid in sleeping upright and plenty of ice packs to rotate until the swelling has remitted. Lastly, I knew Dr. Boggess had done great work with zero complications within three weeks, but I was astounded at my before and after photos at the eight week follow up. Iâm so very grateful that I no longer see my right eyelid in my visual field, but more than that, Dr. Boggess has rejuvenated my facial appearance, but more important my lease on life as well. I feel like âmeâ again and as important, my husband was pleased and amazed as well.
I researched for about 2 years to find the right for the perfect physician, look no further Dr Boggess and his staff. Were amazing! He made feel comfortable through every step. From consult to surgery and post op. Dr.Bogguess gave us his phone number to contact anytime if we had any concerns. We had none every thing to from start to finish was completely explained. The results were amazing! I went in kinda scared but 10000% I followed through and Dr.Boggess is an amazing artist!
I absolutely could not decide whether to take the risk on my facial rejuvenation. I was so afraid I would have a plastic look or a surprise look. After visiting with Dr. Boggess, I realized he does not work on every patient the same. Every procedure is tailored to the patient. He assured me that no one would even notice except to say you look great! I have found that to be exactly true! Research no longer. Go with Dr. Boggess! Youâll be glad you did!
Dr. Boggess (and the Youthful Reflections team) was patient with my concerns and took the time needed to answer all of my questions. I felt confident and comfortable when I finally booked my procedure. I followed instructions, trusted the process and could not be happier with the results. Any cosmetic procedure is a personal decision. If this is something you are considering, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Michael Boggess and his awesome team! If I had to do it all over again, I would not change one thing.
I am a registered nurse and have been in healthcare for many years. I recognize the quality care. The quality of care, kindness and professionalism provided by Dr. Boggess and his staff was simply incredible. I had a reflection lift, laser skin resurfacing, fat transfer and blepharoplasty. I am absolutely thrilled with my results!
Choosing a surgeon begins when you call the office to make an appointment for a consultation. When I called the office of Dr. Boggess, I was warmly greeted, was able to schedule a consult with very minimal questioning from the person who answered the phone. Very refreshing. When I arrived at the office I was delighted that the office was quiet and professional, with a wonderful woman greeting patients and getting them started on paperwork, which was minimal. Then I met Dr. Boggess. I was immediately at ease and felt comfortable sharing my concerns; sagging face, sagging neck. He told me what his recommendations were, which were exactly what I expected, a lower face lift and neck lift, and CO2 laser to compliment the lift. Yay! He answered all my questions, then I was moved to another office area to speak with Bernadette Boggess, who wears many hats and is just a delightful person. She discussed price, which frankly I found to be extremely reasonable. Because I live more than one hour away from the office, Dr. Boggess required that I stay in a local hotel the first night, so I hired a nurse and off we went. My anesthesia was 30mg of valium and local lidocaine injections. Let me tell you, this was so much better than a general, you wake up quicker, way less risk, just a wonderful option. If you are considering this and worry that you will "wake up" or "feel something", you won't. First night I wore the compression bandage. Face was a bit red from the laser but not bad at all. Went back the next day for removal of the compression that is then followed by a less restrictive compression bandage that the patient wears 24/7 for 2 weeks. A walk in the park!! I had NO PAIN. The nurse wanted me to take a pain pill to mitigate potential pain onset but I didn't and I had no pain. Recovery: by 72 hours I was out walking on my property (with a hat for sure) for one hour. Felt great. By 5 days I was driving with a scarf around my head and neck. Sorta felt like Greta Garbo ;) My results are off the charts. But don't listen to me, here are quotes from my friends: "OMG you look 15 years younger and I am not kidding" "No way Jodes, you look so natural and just more happy" "I hate you lol"... You get the idea. To summarize, talk to as many surgeons as you wish but DO NOT leave Dr. Boggess off your list. My review was written by me with no editing by anyone and I was not compensated for this review. Updated on 1 Oct 2022: Two months post op
Dr. Boggess is not just a doctor - he is a true artist. The results were everything I wanted and more! He made my drooping rectangular shaped face (the collateral damage of aging and falling skin) into a more heart-shaped appearance. I was so very worried about the surgery and the recovery but every step of the way he let me know what to expect. I mean what other doctor offers their cell phone? He has the best bedside manner - so well informed and with no ego, no arrogance. He is the REAL DEAL. And I don't say that lightly.
Absolutely great. Dr Boggess and all the staff were wonderful. My down time was minimal. It was an uplifting experience for me. The Dr and staff made sure I was comfortable and met all my needs while under their care. They were great.
I can't even begin to tell you all the positive things about Dr. Boggess. He's amazing! Professional, completely transparent about expectations, follows up on all questions, is realistic in reviewing your case and potential outcomes, prepares for your surgery with his colleagues and is enthusiastic in his practice.
Dr. Boggess is a restoration specialist, I would have never dreamed he could take so many years off my face and neck. It was a great experience for me. During my procedure I was made comfortable, with absolutely no pain during or after my surgery. The result's are just mind blowing. One of my brothers didn't even recognize me! Dr. Boggess staff members are so sweet and considerate. I would highly recommend him for any rejuvenation procedures you may be considering. If I need or want any further procedures in my further, I will be returning to him for them.
Hello. Thank you for your question. Aging of the face is a complex process that involves progressive loss of facial fat and bone volume and progressive laxity of skin and and supporting connective tissue that leads to sagging in the most dependent areas, including the neck, jawline, marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Each individual is unique in the progression of these aging changes with some demonstrating more laxity than volume loss, while vice versa for others. Therefore, management for facial rejuvenation must be individualized for each patient. Depending on the degree of aging changes, this may involve a facelift to address the laxity in the lower face and neck, midface volume restoration using grafted fat, fillers or implants, or a combination of both. I would encourage you to seek a consultation with a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who has extensive experience and expertise in facial rejuvenation, and allow them to assess your individual anatomy, concerns and goals, in order to determine the best treatment plan for you. I wish you the best in achieving your aesthetic goals.
Hello. Thank you for your question. You appear to have laxity in the lower face and neck. Although facelift is the best procedure for addressing these issues, you are a bit young to pursue this type of treatment. You could likely benefit from a more conservative neck lift, which involves liposuction of the neck and jawline and tightening of the platysma muscle in the midline of the neck through a small incision under the chin. Fillers or fat grafting to the midface may also be beneficial to address some of the midface laxity through restoration of volume in the cheeks and nasolabial folds. I would strongly encourage you to seek a consultation with a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who has extensive experience and expertise in facial rejuvenation and allow them to assess you individual anatomy, concerns and goals, in order to determine the best treatment plan for you. I wish you the best in achieving your aesthetic goals.
Hello. Thank you for your question. First, I would never recommend a skin-only facelift for any patient regardless of age, as it will not hold up over time. Any properly performed facelift should include lifting and suspending the SMAS in the face and the platysma muscle in the neck to contour the neck and jawline in a youthful way that will last over time. Second, I have never seen a patient in their 20's that needed a facelift, so I suspect that it is extremely unlikely that a facelift would be indicated in your case. Non-surgical treatments such as laser or radiofrequency skin tightening may be an option for you to consider. I would encourage you to seek a consultation with a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, or Plastic Surgeon, who has extensive experience and expertise in facial rejuvenation and allow them to assess your individual anatomy, concerns and goals, in order to determine the best treatment plan for you. I wish you the best in achieving your aesthetic goals.
Hello. Thank you for your question. I think that it is impossible for you to predict that you will need a facelift every 10 years. Every patient is different in regards to the longevity of facelift results and the desire or need for secondary or tertiary procedures. Properly performed facelift surgery should provide a very natural look, regardless of how many previous facelifts they have undergone. Although most patients probably don't have more than one facelift procedure in their life, secondary facelift procedures are fairly common, and tertiary facelifts much less common, in my experience. I have yet to see anyone in my practice having a fourth facelift, not that it can't be done. I would encourage you to seek a consult with a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, or Plastic Surgeon, who has extensive experience and expertise in facial rejuvenation and allow them to assess your individual anatomy, concerns and goals, in order to determine the best treatment plan for you. I wish you the best in achieving your aesthetic goals.
Hello. Thank you for your question. Upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures can safely be performed using local anesthesia alone or in combination with oral or IV sedation. It is my opinion that general anesthesia is not necessary for these procedures, but is certainly also an option. The ideal anesthesia recommendation for each individual patient should be made by the primary surgeon in consultation with the patient. The most common local anesthetic for blepharoplasty procedures is lidocaine with epinephrine. Xylocaine is simply a brand name for the generic lidocaine. They are exactly the same thing. I will commonly do blepharoplasty procedures using some light oral sedation using a benzodiazepine medication, such as valium or ativan, to help alleviate patient anxiety. IV sedation can also be utilized to achieve a deeper level of sedation. The choice of medications for IV sedation would be determined by the anesthesia provider performing the sedation in consultation with the patient.
