I chose Dr. Tavin as I am in the Healthcare profession and have encountered several women who were done by Dr. Tavin. He has excellent bedside manners and actually spent about 1.5 hours with me for my consultation. He is a teacher and loves to explain things.

So here is a little background... I have always been on the heavy side even as a kid. I lost a lot of weight, but when I got pregnant with my oldest son, I gained about 80 pounds that never left. I kept this weight on for about 5 years. Once I lost it again, guess what... I got pregnant again with my youngest son. I finally got myself together and have lost 80 pounds and have kept it off for 6 years. I wear a large and some medium in shirts, but if it is not stretch, I have to get a 2x because of my arms. The women on both sides of my family have very large arms, so I was doomed from day one lol.
I am less than 2 weeks away from my surgery. I have bought the pez urinal since I'm having my arms and stomach done. I've rented a lift recliner. I have also bought scar away sheets, Palmer vitamin email oil, and some bio oil. I already have guaze here, but plan to try the panty liner/ maxi pad trick. Any other items you guys think I need?

I am so excited.... I am almost one week away from my surgeries. Today, I paid my surgeries off in full! I have purchased lots of dresses to wear to work when I return. I wore one today with a spanx garment and looked great. I also bought several lounge outfits from New York and Company (joggers and zip up jackets) for when I need to go to post op appts prior to returning to work. All I have left to get is my dressing supplies. Can't wait to be on the flat side......

Alright.... I am about 36 hours from being on the flat side. I am soooo nervous! More regarding recovery than anything. I have bought everything I can think of, but then feel as if I am not prepared enough. I have plenty of help. My sister is currently living with me, so she will be with me on the evenings and weekends. My dad is coming down and will be with me on surgery day and during the day after surgery. My other sister is always off on Fridays, so she is coming over and sitting with me then. Plus, my boys are 17 and 11 so they will be more than enough help. I will miss holding my 6 month old nephew for a while, but hopefully he won't be bothered. We spend our evenings together, so I'm gonna miss his chunky self.
One last thing that I am worried about is scarring. I will have drains for both my tummy and arms and I have seen some horror stories. I am praying that I do well with scarring, especially with my arms. I went today and got my brazillian and underarm wax so that I won't have to worry about hair growth for a while. Can't wait to update you all after surgery......

I'm so excited... I made it to the flat side. I was too drowsy to post on yesterday. I had my arms and tummy done. My power lift recliner never came so I bought a lot of pillows and placed them behind my back, under knees and under my arms. I have been very comfortable. I have 4 drains....????, but other than that, I'm doing fine. I don't have compression garments on yet due to the drains, but I see my surgeon today at 1130. He called me last night to check on me. I love him. My tummy incision is very thin. I did get the exparel, was prescribed Norco and flexeril. I have only taken pain meds twice since discharge. I'm more sore than in pain. I can also walk almost straight. I'm slightly bent just a hair. My arms are no problem at all. If the drains were not there, I would forget that I had then done. Yesterday I had regrets and today, I have none despite swell hell!
