Excellent question. I don't have the details about your pathological (keloid) scar formation (active or non-active). Yes, a hair transplant surgery (HTS) can be performed but as hair surgeon I will be concerned about a future keloid scars after the donor area harvesting technique with Donor Strip and/or FUExcision and the recipient area too. So NO surgery at the moment, I will to treat your keloid scar first then evaluate a HTS in the future (scar and head). A 2nd opinion is an excellent option too, look for a local and well trained and experience hair surgeon. Good luck.

Excellent question. Do no panic, it may be normal the "shock loss:" during the first 4-8 weeks of the treatment and I ALWAYS tell that to my patients . The hair loss will stop and hair regrowth will start weeks later. I will suggest you to contact to your doctor for his/her feedback about your issue too. Good luck.

Great questions. Unfortunately you have complications in your donor and recipient area. You were too young for hair transplant surgery too. There are several options for repairing the donor area and one of them is: micropigmentantion with FUE grafting. For the recipient area: another FUExcision surgery for blending the existing hairs with new hairs in different angle, direction and tilt. It could be necessary to remove and recycle some of the transplanted hair too. You need to book a consultation for a detailed evaluation and surgical plan with a local and well TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED HAIR RESTORATION SURGEON. You may need 1-2 opinions. Good luck.

Great question. Everyday, we read or hear about new hair loss treatments everyday, unfortunately, there is not human clinical studies to support what was said. No, there is not human clinical and hair loss studies with verteporfin, and it is not FDA approved for hair loss. Oral Finasteride and topical Minoxidil (2% and 5%) are the ONLY two medications FDA approved for hair loss. One more important comment: you need to be evaluated for a local and experienced hair loss specialist. Good luck

Excellent and frequent question. Minoxidil and Finasteride have different mechanism of actions, so the addition of Minoxidil to your hair loss treatment is an excellent option for Male Pattern Hair Loss. We have seen that the COMBINATION of medical treatment has better results than one treatment only. Oral Minoxidil could be a good option instead the topical Minoxidil. You need to talk with your hair doctor about the options. Good luck.

Excellent question. It depends of each person but generally speaking and in my personal opinion of more than 30 years of plastic and hair surgeon is: both, the donor and recipient dominance are present after the transplant. Also, most of the times the scalp hair blends very well in the beard area. It is critical that the surgery should be performed by a trained and experienced hair surgeon, The surgical plan and design including the angle, direction and tilt of the transplanted hairs are critical for a successful outcome. Good luck.
