The easiest option and most economical option is to have the areas re-bonded.&nbsp; I would however ague that veneers on your teeth may be the best option long term cosmetically and from a strength standpoint.&nbsp; See your dentist to go over all these options.&nbsp; Good luck!

I had a gap between my two front teeth and i had it bonded like 6 or 7 years ago. Now it looks kind of clear inbetween my two front teeth and it has chipped a little. The worst part is that tiny little line that looks discolored. It doesnt come off. How can i fix this area of my teeth. And how much would it cost. I have dental insurance.

If your crown came off and you cannot see any remaining tooth or posts in your gum, then most likely you will need to have the tooth extracted and will need to begin thinking about dental implants, mini dental implants and/or a bridge to replace the missing tooth.&nbsp; If you cannot see anything sticking out of the gum and the crown looks like it has broken off with the tooth/post cemented inside of it then you more than likely will not have enough tooth left to support a new crown.&nbsp; From time to time it is possible to do an new crown though with a post, but your dentist will need to take an x ray and diagnose the problem for you.&nbsp; Hope this helps!&nbsp; Good luck!

If my crown fell out and I can't see post am I going to have to get a new crown?

I would recommend seeing your dentist for an evaluation.&nbsp; Anytime you are having pain with a crown upon biting that isn't a good sign.&nbsp; Most likely the crown/tooth has been bothered by decay or potentially a crack over the years.&nbsp; I would recommend an x ray to see your dentist for an evaluation.&nbsp; It sounds like there may be potential for a root canal but at the very least a bite adjustment.&nbsp; Your dentist will diagnose the problem and help you fix it!&nbsp; Good Luck!

Age is not a stipulation for dental implants, so just because you are 77 years old does not mean that you would not qualify for dental implants.&nbsp; If you are interested in implants you should see your dentist and let them evaluate the amount of bone and the quality of bone in your jaw.&nbsp; Your medical history and medications can be of concern as well.&nbsp; Sometimes if you do not have enough bone&nbsp; or high quality bone for conventional implants then Mini Dental Implants can even be an option for you.&nbsp;&nbsp;Absolutely talk to your dentist, periodontist, or oral surgeon.&nbsp; Thanks and good luck!

I am 77 years old. Can l have dental implants for my upper and lower jaws?

I am a Clearcorrect provider as well and I can understand wanting to get through ortho as quickly as possible, but I feel as though there is a reason why the big brands (Invisalign/ClearCorrect) recommend wearing the trays for a minimum of 2 weeks.&nbsp; To much pressure to quick can cause loose/mobile teeth and unnecessary pain in my opinion.&nbsp; There are now quite a few clear aligner companies on the market that have different aspects of treatment, so maybe this is not of concern any more, but I am leery and have not heard of VPRO5 myself.&nbsp;&nbsp;

I have just started Clear Correct and want to get this over and done with as fast as possible. I have seen various reviews of VPRO5 where the patients using it say they change their trays weekly instead of fortnightly. When I asked my dentist about this, it was like he didn't know anything about it, so nothing else became of it. I want to find out if this works, and if it does I will raise it again with him. That is correct.&nbsp; As long as the margin (where the crown meets the tooth) is closed up then it should not be a concern at all.&nbsp; You can absolutely bring it up to the dentist, but I am guessing since it has been cemented already that the margin is closed.&nbsp; Sometimes wearing a temporary for a few weeks can inflame the tissue around the new crown and within a few days/weeks the tissue rebounds to give you a good clean covered margin.&nbsp; This really isn't a big deal looking at the picture as long as its closed especially since its on the back side of the crown, undetectable when you smile.&nbsp; Best wishes

I just had my crown done last week. I notice there is a gap between the crown and gumline. I google &amp; there is somebody saying that the gap is OK as long as it is a closed edge? Should i complain to the dentist? I don't want to re-do the crown, what solution can you give? Thank you in advance :)

If you are looking to replace a crown and you take the proper antibiotics ahead of each appointment and you have been given medical clearance from your doctor, then I would not be concerned with having the work done at all.&nbsp; In most offices theses days there are two appointments necessary for having crowns done.&nbsp; The first one is for removing the old crown and preparing the the tooth for a new crown.&nbsp; And the second one is for delivering the crown.&nbsp; Your dentist is right to say that it can 3 weeks or so to get the crown back.&nbsp; Temporary crowns are made of bio-compatible acrylic material and if done and places properly have very minimal risk involved with them.&nbsp; Wearing the temp gives the lab technician time to hand-craft your specific crown to fit your basic needs.&nbsp; This is how my office does it as well, but our turn around time is only 2 weeks.&nbsp; This time can vary based on the lab used, the location of the lab, the business of the the lab and special considerations or materials your dentist may have for that tooth.&nbsp; All this being said there a dentists around that can do a single crown in one day.&nbsp; If you are that uncomfortable waiting I am sure you can find a dentist with a Cerec or E4D which is a specialized machine that can allow the dentist to prepare and seat a crown all in the same appointment, most like a few hours long, but done in the same day.&nbsp; I don't think this is a must so if you trust your dentist and are ok with wait I would stick it out.&nbsp;&nbsp;

2 months ago, my periodontist dx small cavity in a tooth with crown (12 years).So need new crown 3 molar up rt. Have compromised immune system (leukemia since 2014) and furthermore at risk because of a tricuspid heart valve, take antibiotics prior to procedures. Dentist insists that a permanent crown takes 3 weeks to get . I am very hesitant to have temp crown long because of my conditions, Can conventional technology take 3-4 days. heightened risk pointed out by cardiologist .no pain now

Bonding is an option but I probably would try to avoid it.&nbsp; If bonding was to occur in your case it will most likely make the teeth being bonded appear to big for your mouth.&nbsp; I would consider orthodontics.&nbsp; You could certainly get some good results with clear aligner therapy such as Clearcorrect or Invisalign.&nbsp;&nbsp;

When I look at the pictures you posted I feel as though they look pretty good.&nbsp; Ultimately you are the one that has to like the work that was done in your own mouth, so if you are unhappy with them I would explain to the dentist what your concerns are.&nbsp; I probably wouldn't do any further work though until the braces are completed.&nbsp; Then at that point you can either reshape or refine the bonding, or potentially look at even better (more esthetic) options like veneers or crowns.&nbsp; That being said I would wait until the teeth have been finished with braces so they are in their final position prior having the work done.&nbsp; That way you can maximize the esthetics based on the space that is available.&nbsp; Hope this helps!&nbsp; Best wishes!

I had to have the bonding done before my braces come off officially, the bonding on my peg laterals looks a bit unnatural to me (the shape in particular). Should i request to have them reshaped?

I would ask your dentist to take an x ray and evaluate the tooth.&nbsp; The crown can give you discomfort sometimes when chewing if the bite is not adjusted properly, but a well adjusted good fitting crown should not be giving you pain.&nbsp; The x ray could show if there is an abscess around the tooth which may require root canal treatment.&nbsp; Get to your dentist asap and hopefully they can just adjust the crown a bit more to get it comfortable, however, be aware that there may be a potential for a root canal on that tooth.&nbsp; Best wishes!

I had to get my tooth crowned as a previous dentist put in a too big filling for the tooth which weakened my tooth and caused it to break i had a crown on and that was horrible after i had migraines from the constant pain it was extremely sensitive to the point I couldn't speak i had to go to emergency dentist and they said i had a infection went to normal dentist and i had it adjusted and shaped ect ever since then if i press on my face / cheekbone that tooth is uncomfortable and painful.

Putting pressure on cheekbone/jawbone makes my crowned tooth feel pain/pressure what do I do? Normal?
