I had both upper and lower eyelids done as part of a face and neck lift on May 23, 2011. I was so tired of not being able to wear eye makeup and not recognizing myself in the mirror. I iced my eyes and used saline compresses the first days after surgery and had very little swelling after the first 2 days.I used Tylenol 3 for pain the first 2 nights only.
It really made a big difference to me. I can wear my hair up without feeling self-conscious. I had both ears done in 2005. I'm a side sleeper so it was uncomfortable to sleep on my back for several days. No serious pain after the first night.
This is the second eyelid and facelift that Doctor Bing has done for me. The last procedure was 11 years ago. I'm very happy with the results and looking forward to wearing contacts again. I had local anesthesia, which was much easier on my body than a general. The pain afterwards is manageable with Tylenol if one doesn't do well with narcotics (they make me nauseous). Chewing is painful for about a week. I have had very little bruising but used packages of frozen peas to ice my face for the first 24 hours. (I've only listed the doctor's cost below; the operating room and anethesiologist are additional).
