The surgery is frequently performed after pregnancy or weight loss, when the skin has become stretched or saggy. A new belly button may need to be surgically created by umbilicoplasty. Other procedures such as liposuction or breast augmentation are often performed at the same time. This is commonly referred to as a mommy makeover.

Breast Reconstruction

96% Worth It Rating

Breast reconstruction is most commonly performed following a mastectomy. Women who want to restore the volume and shape of their breasts may choose to get breast implants, tissue (commonly called "flap") reconstruction, or a combination. Doctors tend to recommend tissue reconstruction for patients who have undergone radiation therapy, due to their increased risks for capsular contracture (a problematic scar tissue response to implants). Nipple reconstruction is also frequently part of the process.

A breast reduction involves the removal of excess fat, skin, and tissue, which usually results in the nipple and areola being shifted to a higher position. If the areola has been stretched due to the size of the breast, it may also be reduced. Not only does this surgery result in a smaller, perkier bust, it can also help eliminate the back, shoulder, and neck pain that’s often caused by large breasts.

Ideal implants are made with saline filler and a silicone outer shell. They were designed to eliminate concerns about the silent rupture that may occur with silicone-filled implants, which is often undetectable by looking in the mirror. Ultherapy - It's All About Choosing the BEST Specialist ! - Raleigh, NC

When I first met Lisa, she asked me what I was most concerned about and the results I hoped to achieve. She then provided her opinon on what could be achieved and the best treatment options. She shared numerous before and after photos and indicated the "hows and whys" of the treatment choice of Ultherapy. Each question was answered (several times) with patience and knowledge. My care coordinator, Angie also provided emotional and professional support. This team approach at SKIN Raleigh (NC) was very effective as I had high anxiety regarding Ultherapy. During the session, her calm demeanor, explanations and encouragement were all beneficial in helping me finish the process without interruption!! Lisa called me this morning just to check on me and answer any additional questions. I can't thank her enough!

No more scowl - Raleigh, NC

I was concerned about going down the Botox path, but my fears were quickly diminished by Lisa at Skin Raleigh. People were always commenting on my scowl. With a small amount of Botox injected in the middle crease of my forehead the scowl comments have stopped. It does not look unnatural and I do not believe anyone has noticed the change, except for the absence of a scowl.
