&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Congratulations on your 70 pound weight loss. &nbsp;From your photos, I believe that you are a very good-to-excellent candidate for liposculture/ liposelection. &nbsp;These terms refer to liposuction of not just one body area, but of composite body areas including the abdomen, lateral abdomen, flanks, back, and supragluteal areas. &nbsp;The procedure removes only external body fat, not internal fat. &nbsp;It also will not tighten abdominal muscles. &nbsp;If your body fat is external and you have good abdominal muscles, you should receive an excellent result based on your photos.

I am 24 years old. I never had children. I am a bariatric patient, lost 70 pounds. I do not really have any loose skin. I am at my ideal weight 145-150 I wanted to know realistically what my results would be after lipo of my full abs, flanks, love handles, and low back?

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Abdominal etching procedures have been largely replaced by high-definition (hi-def) liposuction pioneered by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos of Bogota, Columbia. &nbsp;This procedure produces a very natural "six pack" for men and "two pack" for woman. &nbsp;This same technique can used on other areas of the body to produce better body definition. &nbsp;It can be safely performed in a certified surgical facility under local tumescent anesthesia so no general anesthesia is required. &nbsp;Hi Def procedures are sometimes performed with an ultrasonic device such as a Vaser prior to traditional liposuction. &nbsp;The term for this is liposelection. &nbsp;You can read more about high definition liposuction in Dr. Hoyos' book.

Been considering abdominal etching or liposcuplture of some sort to really make my abs POP. What worries me is the following: 1: Do they feel real? Because I know the idea is to shape the fat around the natural muscles, but still...they're fake fat pads that look like abs right? I imagine they feel pretty soft and not hard at all. 2: If you gain weight back (say 10-20 pound) does that fat grow out all gross? If so...then let's say you lose the 20 pounds again; are you back to normal?

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Drains are routinely placed after "tummy tuck" procedures to prevent collections of fluid (seromas) and blood (hematomas). &nbsp;Drains should not be left in for too long as they can lead to a wound infection. &nbsp;Every cosmetic surgeon makes their decision to remove drain(s) based on their patient. Normally drains are removed when less than 30 ml (1 ounce) of fluid is drained off over a 24 hour period. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;A new advance in abdominoplasty / tummy tuck surgery is the Avelar adominoplasty for small-to-moderate cases. &nbsp;The Avelar procedure produces an excellent result and does not usually require drains. &nbsp;

How long should drain stay in?

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Liposuction / Liposculpture can be used on virtually any area of the body to sculpt and remove fat. &nbsp;Many woman want to enhance their buttocks which can be done by liposuction of excess fat with lipotransfer to the buttocks. &nbsp;During this procedure, the buttocks are routinely sculpted on the periphery to enhance their shape. &nbsp;Some men and woman have excess fat or enlarged buttock areas which can also be treated with liposuction directed over the buttocks. &nbsp;It is important to liposuction over the buttocks in a deep plane to create a natural appearance. &nbsp;Cellulite areas can also be corrected at this time. &nbsp;You may need to get an opinion from another cosmetic surgeon &nbsp;&nbsp;

Can lipo be performed on the buttocks, not around it, and if so why is this not typically available even for docs who specialize in liposculpture.

Is lipo of buttocks an option?

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Each patient is different but you have several treatment options. &nbsp;First, no treatment is required. &nbsp;There is a slight risk of temporary problems with Botox for lower eyelid thickening. &nbsp;A chemical peel (pure phenol or Baker-Gordon formula) will often help as will laser resurfacing but there is a down-time of of 10-14 days with a chemical peel and 5-7 days or more with laser resurfacing.

Hi there, After everybody was so wonderfully helpful, I thought I would upload some pictures.. I feel like my botox treatments just aren't working around my eyes! It works wonders on my forehead and frown lines, but although the lines beside my eyes go (for a mere 4 weeks) they never ever go from under my eyes. The lady I use is a nurse. Could this be an issue? Lack of experience? Bad placement? My results on my forehead and frown lines last 3-4 mths, but I'm so down about my eyes!! Please help X

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Botox is an extremely safe cosmetic treatment for facials lines and wrinkles with minimal side effects. &nbsp;In rare instances of eyelid laxity (ptosis) after Botox treatment, apraclonidine (Iopidine) and/or phenylephrine eyedrops three times a day can help until the eye muscles recover. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Pyridostigmine is an interesting drug for the treatment of myasthenia gravis. &nbsp;It has been used for rare overdoses of Botox when Botox is employed at extremely high doses for neuromuscular disorders. &nbsp;The potential side effects of pyridostigmine mitigate against its use for minor Botox-induced cosmetic problems. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

I have done extensive reading on the use of Botox for cosmetic purposes and cannot ignore the many reports of users claiming terrible side effects caused at even low doses. I have come across the drug pyridostigmine on an online forum claiming its efficacy against Botox side effects. I would like to know whether any medical doctor has experience with pyridostigmine for said purpose and if the drug is indeed efficient against Botox side effects. Thank you

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Smart Lipo is a type of liposuction technique which utilizes liposuction and laser. &nbsp;The original Smart Lipo units were underpowered and were of questionable value according to a Wall Street Journal expose on May 4, 2008. &nbsp;Since then, Smart Lipo has added additional power and wavelengths and is now effective. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Other forms of liposuction include Vaser liposuction which uses ultrasonic waves and Body Jet liposuction which uses a powered water stream to loosen fat before liposuction. Coolsculpting is a non-surgical type of fat removal in which the fat is frozen. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Be especially wary of doctors who claim their specialty owns lipoplasty or liposuction. The term liposuction is generally credited to Dr Julius Newman, the former President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Finally, it is not customary to pay patients for before and after photos but do ask for a 50% discount on each additional body area.

How much of a discount should be expected for multiple areas done at once as opposed to individually? I went for a consult and was shown how much it would be for each area if done individually, but told it would be less since I was doing several areas at once. Then she went and ran my credit and came back with those same numbers totaled up and told me that was how much it would cost. I'm also curious how much discount is generally offered for use of before and after pictures. Thank you!

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The most likely cause of your "blackheads" is acne. &nbsp;The dark color is due to oxidation of follicular skin oils. &nbsp;However, there is a disorder called trichostasis spinulosa in which very tiny hairs appear as "blackheads". &nbsp;If you have access to a microscope, you can find out yourself. Squeeze your "blackheads" onto a microscope slide and look for multiple hairs under the microscope. &nbsp; Acne and trichostasis spinulosa are treated similarly with extraction and prevention with tretinoin (Retin A), Differin, or Tazorac products.

Hi, i'm 22 Years old, and i have an oily skin. I have head, and still have blackheads on my nose. (A lot!). I've been used to clean my nose and extract blackheads twice a week. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; All of the lasers you listed will help remove dark hair. &nbsp;Your gray-white hair can be treated only by electrolysis. &nbsp;In darker skin types, such as yourself, the laser intensity will need to be reduced to avoid scarring and hyperpigmentation. &nbsp;This lower intensity will make hair removal more difficult. &nbsp;A 1064 wavelength YAG laser is usually the safest laser for dark skin types. &nbsp;Many&nbsp;medical offices offer a free consultation.&nbsp;

Legs, bikini and lower belly are more coarse black hairs.
