Love my Eyes. It’s exactly what I wanted

I had an upper and lower blephoplasty with fat transfer performed by Dr. Quatela and am 3 months post op and thrilled with my results. It’s exactly what I wanted. The staff have been amazing and Dr. Quatela is definitely the best and it’s been a great experience all around.

I highly recommend and will be going back in the future

Wonderful experience! Tori and Rachel administered first time botox and answered every question I had and then some putting me at ease. They were extremely gentle given my fear of needles and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. All guidelines were followed given the pandemic and the building was beautiful and clean. I highly recommend and will be going back in the...

Best Money I Ever Spent

Dr. Quatela is extremely talented and has excellent bedside manner. He not only listened to exactly what I was looking for he helped me figure out from his expertise what would best achieve my desired results. Some of the other practices I looked at really didn’t give me the same reassurance that they knew what looked good and how to get those results- too many decisions in terms of p...

A skilled surgeon and a kind man - beautiful results

Having a facelift is a very personal and emotional journey. I didn’t have any other consults I knew where I wanted to go. Being a Nurse and Esthetician I had some insight in that area seeing his work first hand and hearing his client’s stories. Meeting with Brooke was the first step. She is just wonderful. Knowledgeable and professional she helped navigate the next step and kept up with my pro...

Q: Can my wrinkle crease between eyes be improved with Botox? (photo)
Answered by Dr. QuatelaFebruary 25, 2021

A: Botox injected into the glabella (corrugator muscles along the eyebrows and the procerus along the top of the nose) will help soften the horizontal line between the eyes and help prevent it from deepening. A small amount of filler in the wrinkle will help smooth the fold in combination with the Botox.

Q: Will Botox relax my chin muscles without effecting my speech, this is what happens to my chin while talking (Photo)
Answered by Dr. QuatelaMarch 5, 2019

A: Botox works great in this area to smooth out your chin. In the right hands, this should never effect your speech or the way your mouth moves. It is very simple and effective, good luck!

Q: Bulging muscles underneath my bottom lip, can Botox fix this?
Answered by Dr. QuatelaJanuary 17, 2019

A: It is difficult to say from this picture as the lighting is likely accentuating the bulge underneath your lip. You would need an in-person evaluation by a facial plastic surgeon to determine whether the bulge is from muscle hypertrophy or simply fat. But, after this was determined it’s likely that this could be corrected by filler or Botox or a combination of the two. Thanks for your question and best of luck.

Q: Under eye filler nightmare, any suggestions on how to stop watery eyes and swelling 6 months post-op?
Answered by Dr. QuatelaDecember 12, 2018

A: I’m so sorry to hear this. I have seen this once in my practice and it was with the same product, and it eventually resolved. It is extremely frustrating for the patient (as well as the doctor). You can see delayed-onset hypersensitivity with these fillers even though they are made of materials that are normally found in the body. It sounds like you have had the right treatment if they have dissolved the filler and treated with antibiotics and steroids. It would be worth seeing an ophthalmologist for a more comprehensive eye exam to rule out another cause of the swelling. If it really is a hypersensitivity from the filler, it should eventually resolve but can take months. And I would caution you on receiving fillers in this area in the future. You may want to consider a surgical option or even fat injections.

Q: Botox or filler for eye bags when I smile? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. QuatelaDecember 12, 2018

A: Good question. It is a little bit difficult to tell from your photographs. Yes, you can use fillers for this type of thing. Botox would likely help the lines lateral to your eyes but not be of any benefit for the “eye bags,” but certain fillers can smooth this area out. It appears from your picture that you have some hollowness in your tear troughs. Typically, hyaluronic acid fillers work best in this area. There are several different products, but in our practice we gravitate toward using Restylane in this part of the face. Proper photographs and a proper consultation with a facial plastics surgeon is necessary. Good luck.
