Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Motherhood is a gift to be cherished, but it comes with many physical changes that can be a shock to new moms. Often, “bouncing back” is a difficult or sometimes impossible feat, even with the most regimented nutrition and fitness plan in place. The reality is that your body undergoes extreme changes in order to accommodate your growing child, which can ultimately create loose or drooping skin, stubborn fat deposits, and breasts that lose their shape. Others also experience changes to other parts of their body. Skin Tightening
Our bodies naturally undergo changes as we get older, and sometimes certain events—such as weight gain, weight loss, and pregnancy—can exacerbate these changes. A common issue is skin laxity, or skin that’s loose, sagging, or otherwise droopy. Areas that are particularly affected include breasts, which can lose their fullness and perkiness, the abdominal region, and butts. Arms and thighs can also be susceptible, especially in cases of weight loss. This postgraduate education included cosmetic surgery studies at Clinica Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; breast cosmetics at the Center for Breast and Body Contouring in Grand Rapids, Michigan; breast microsurgery reconstruction at Ghent University Hospital in Belgium; breast conserving surgery at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan; and breast cosmetic surgery at Milan’s National Institute for the Study of Reconstructive Surgery. She also worked at the Boston Children’s Hospital, where she corrected cleft lips and palates.
