I’m a 46 yr old woman, somewhat in the public eye, with hereditary lower eye bags that got worse with age. For years I tried filler but it just stopped being effective at a certain point and created additional issues despite seeing a top derm. My derm actually recommended lower bleph, something I was shocked to hear I was a candidate for. I’ve been happy with the way I was aging and still had a very youthful look except for those damn bags. I saw a few doctors and was astounded in the difference in approaches. One doctor wanted to do multiple procedures (full fat repositioning, a skin pinch, even my upper lids). Dr. Elahi suggested a more conservative approach, lowers only, very conservative fat removal, only repositioning at the inner corners (lumps are more likely to appear at outer eye). In ten days I looked acceptable with no bruising. The swelling in the lower lids, while not perceptible to anyone, bothered me until about 6 weeks or so bf it was hard to imagine the final results. Being hyper sensitive about my looks, I was stressed about the outcome (is this how it’s going to look??) and paid way too many anxious visits to my patient doctor, who was only a few blocks from my apartment. But now at five months I am beyond thrilled with the results. It looks completely natural and the bags are gone. My cheekbones look way more prominent and overall my face looks sculpted without those pesky bags marring my looks. The things I worried about (drooping lids, crepey skin etc) never happened, despite the conservative approach. My skin snapped back into place with no change in wrinkles. I look even younger than before and am confident in any lighting conditions. I really wish I’d done this sooner and am grateful I found the right doctor.
