5 out of 5 stars Breast Reconstruction with Latissimus Flap

Dr. Kari Colen : Amazing

Dr. Kari Colen is a powerful doctor. She has so much charisma and energy. She finds out what you want and helps you immediately. She's so passionate about her work as a surgeon. I was nervous about doing the big DIEP flap breast procedure and Dr. Colen and her staff in her Hackensack office walked me through every step making me feel better, making me smile. On surgery day she was right there...

5 out of 5 stars Breast Reconstruction Revision

A fine surgeon

Kari Colen MD is an excellent surgeon. She is professional, calm, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I had some old implants resulting from two mastectomies years ago that needed to be replaced and she made me look better than even before. I highly recommend her and the staff at the office. Maria in the office is an outstanding artist at creating new, very realistic nipples. I...

Amazingly talented surgeon and professional staff

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer and told that I would require a mastectomy I could not even process the information. Fortunately, I found Dr. Colen on the internet. Dr. Colen and her staff were supportive, patient, highly knowledgeable, sensitive, supportive and compassionate. I was guided through the process step by step and all of my concerns were addressed. Dr. Colen's skill set is...

1 out of 5 stars Scar Removal

Scar Revision of Improperly Healed Scar That Caused Pain - Hackensack, NJ

She lectured me on coping with pain, said I need faith in my doctor, & insisted she helps traumatized women. I think she was traumatized that she messed me up & didn't know what to do or was too lazy to take the time to do it right - we with EDS need a little extra effort). After she removed the second group of stitches (EDSers have trouble healing), she refused to look when I asked her about the pain & lumpiness. She told me it was "normal" & I shouldn't rub it. She literally turned her back on me, walked away. Neither she nor her mother (I was hoping a little more experience . . . ) are willing to even look. She took my cash, messed me up, blamed my connective tissue disorder, & turned her back. If your body is anything other than perfectly normal, I would stay far away from this woman. She will only do what is easy for her, no patience for anything else. And she will happily take your money & then blame you for her failure. I am in worse shape than ever, and now need to find someone to figure out what she did to my mutated collagen & try to get it fixed. She has zero compassion other than her fixed sentences she uses. Anything out of the normal, steer clear. Anyone with EDS, don't even think of her. She'll take your money, mess you up, blame you for upsetting her schedule, & walk away. Literally.

Dr. Kari is amazing... She is honest and a great plastic surgeon. I have known her for years... I wouldn't trade her for any other doctor.

5 out of 5 stars Ultherapy

Just Had Ultherapy - New York, NY

I am only saying undecided because I want to see a)if it lasts or fades quickly and b)any additional improvement in 3 months, still have some laxity in the neck.

Breast Reduction

Every year hundreds of thousands of women in the United States alone undergo Breast Augmentation to increase the size of their breasts, this is common knowledge, but what of the women who are born with naturally, un-proportionately large breasts? Many people do not realize the physical and emotional strain this can cause. For women with exceptionally large breasts, chronic neck, back and shoulder pain often persists. Simple things like exercise, shopping and even sleeping can become...
