5 out of 5 stars Breast Augmentation
I had a breast augmentation surgery performed by Dr. Elkwood about two months and I couldn't be happier. He is not only compassionate, but he had so much patience answering all of my questions and concerns (I had A LOT) before and after the surgery. Dr. Elkwood's staff at The Plastic Surgery center is courteous and very helpful. His nurse Katie is just as amazing as Dr. Elkwood, I would...
5 out of 5 stars Breast Reconstruction
After my breast cancer diagnosis, I faced chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy with Tram flap reconstruction. This final step was by far the most intimidating for me and caused the most anxiety and fear. Dr. Andrew Elkwood and his staff at The Plastic Surgery Center (The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction) in Shrewsbury, NJ immediately calmed my fears and eased me through the decision making process and actual procedures. Dr. Elkwood explained my options in terms I could easily understand and gave me time to make the choice with which I was most comfortable. On the day of the surgery and throughout the follow up care he treated me with confidence and humor and I knew I was in the best of hands! He not only concerned himself with my physical recovery, but always asked about my emotional state as well. His staff, especially Katie, was compassionate and knowledgeable and made the entire process much easier than I had expected. I received this same exemplary treatment at The Center for Outpatient Surgery when Dr. Elkwood performed a pre-operative procedure and a breast revision after radiation was complete. Once again his surgical staff made sure I understood my procedure and was comfortable throughout. My family was included in the process and kept well informed. I am thrilled with the final results and I am back to living life better than before. I can not thank Dr. Elkwood enough for his expertise, patience, humor and compassion throughout this part of my treatment. I am forever grateful for all that he and his staff have done for me.

5 out of 5 stars Laser Surgery
I had a number of spots on my face that were precancerous that the dermatologist attempted to treat with a cream. The sites returned so I had a consultation with Dr. Elkwood. After a lengthy discussion, we decided that the best solution to avoid multiple incisions was to have a full face laser procedure. The experience with Dr. Elkwood was excellent. I had minimal recovery time and was back to...

Dr Elkwood was very professional and thorough. You can tell he cares about you as an individual. I was instantly comfortable with him. His reputation precedes him, all of my friends have seen him for one thing or another. After my surgery I found out that he did my mother in laws Facelift like 10 years ago. I didn't even know she had cosmetic surgery, she looks so natural. He is truly a great doctor.
