#1 Rated NJ Dermatologist on Healthgrades. #1 CoolSculpting Provider in NJ. 500+ Five Star Reviews.
I am not a fan of needles so lipo was not an option. Took a minute to find the best method for me with results. I’m 5’6” and 182lb. I’m somewhat active/athletic and exercise occasionally outside of walking a lot, but I can’t seem to lose my “gutt”. After reading most of these reviews I was a bit nervous about the level of pain to expect. The staff at Sperling Dermatology was very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs. On the day of my 4-hour appointment I was scheduled to have 4 sessions (45 min each + 2 min deep tissue massage) on my abdomen with the larger suction. They created somewhat of a diamond shape as the guide, so I am hoping that the overlap will eliminate most of the fat around my abdomen. The sessions started with my lower abs. The reviews do not lie about the 5-7 minute OMG it’s cold as...feeling that eventually becomes bearable. I watched Netflix to let the time pass. And then there was the massage. It’s an intense 2 minute deep, deep massage that make planks seem easy. The suction on my lower abs were not that painful. But when we moved onto the upper abs that was a different story. They had to reposition each side until I could withstand the intensity of the suction. After all was said and done, I was in little to no pain just numbness. The worse part is the massage. By Day 3 & 4, my lower abs are bit sore and there are sudden flashes of pain every now and then, plus there is still a weird numbness. Clothes rubbing against your abs are a NO, NO! My compression garments have been my friend. TIPS: Eat a good meal beforehand. Wear loose fitting clothing. Wear a compression garment afterwards. Walk with healthy snacks for your session in case you get hungry. Drink plenty of water. Pain Level from 1 no pain to 10 intense Suction: 3 Massage: 8 Day 1: 3 Day 3: 4 Updated on 29 Jun 2018: Water is still my BFF, but quite boring!!! The sharp, shooting pains have subsided. But the weird numbness is still there. And the next phase officially kicked off today...the body’s natural elimination process. This is where knowing your body will be your lifesaver because it’s like Montezuma’s Revenge without the vacay. I neglected to measure myself, my pants are a bit loser, but the pounds are steady. I haven’t done any exercise...shame on me. I’ve been maintaining a healthy diet and have done my best to eliminate/minimize sugar from my diet. I still wear my compression garments and still a fan of loose clothing. It’s not because of the pain...it’s because of that weird numbness. The loose clothing is just more comfortable. Can wait to really start seeing the results. Excited Dot Com Updated on 10 Apr 2019: Finally uploaded the before (left/June 2018) & after (right/Sep 2018) photos. There was a noticeable change within the 1st three months. And I am pleased with the results 10 months later. I lost a whole pants size without exercising. But I still am mindful of my food intake. I try my best to eat healthy (i.e., cooking at home). And I still believe Sugar is the devil and water is still oh so very boring.
I’m a busy day that does CrossFit and is very active. At the age of 46 though I can’t seem to lose the belly fat anymore. This is my adventure in cool sculpting. I decided to go with Sperling dermatology for my cool sculpting. I am writing this review a few minutes before they apply the suction cups to me. I will write in greater detail after my procedure which will be 2 1/2 hours as per Dr. Updated on 20 Nov 2017: So I am at home now. The whole procedure took 2 1/2 hours. I got a large applicator for the top half of my stomach then I got two large applicators for the lower stomach. This procedure didn’t hurt at all. I don’t know why everybody is bitching and complaining about it. All I have to tell you guys and girls is toughen up. You come out mildly red and partially numb. I’m ready to go and knock out a 12 hour shift in the ER. I will be drinking at least 1 gallon of water each day. These are my stats as of today. I weigh 214lb and have 27% body fat. Updated on 21 Nov 2017: Worked a full 12 hour shift last night with no problems. Hurts a little but nothing that the average person couldn’t handle. As you can see in this photo I have a little bruising. Updated on 24 Nov 2017: Got on my body fat scale today.... started at 29% now down to 26%. Updated on 27 Nov 2017: To early to tell you anything. The bruising has disappeared and a little less numbness. I will also be doing this ab crunch routine at least 3 times a week. I left it in the photo area. Updated on 4 Dec 2017: My BMI scale has shown I am down to 25% body fat. I started off close to 30%. I’m starting to see a difference. I am also doing close to 200 sit ups a day. I also do CrossFit as well. Remember everybody...we need to drink a gallon of water to wash out as much fat as possible. I will post a photo at the end of the month.
The staff were good but it has the feel of a fly by night operation and not a traditional office. Never met with a doctor but rather always with assistant. They were very nice and professional but the treatment just didn't do anything. After my 8 visits and follow up, the photos showed no change so they gave me 2 free sessions but still no budge. I'm pretty trim and just wanted some tightening and this did nothing.
Coolsculpting is a non- invasive procedure to reduce fat cells in the area that is targeted. Coolsculpting can be done on the arms, abdomen, bra fat, love handles (flank), double chin, and inner and outer thighs.
It is best to get a consultation to see if you are a candidate and what the best treatment plan is for you.
Thanks for your question. Coolsculpting is a non- invasive treatment with minimal side effects or downtime. The suction feels like a strong pull on the skin, and then the skin feels cold. After a few minutes, you don't feel much. My patients often watch Netflix, read a book, do work, or even take a nap during the procedure.
The suction and temperature control is monitored and maintained throughout the treatment.
After the procedure, you can have some mild discomfort and sensitivity in the area for a few days to a few weeks which resolves.
Thanks for your question.
A typical Coolsculpting procedure for the arms, abdomen, flank (love handles), or inner thighs are 35 minutes. The outer thighs are 75 minutes and chin is 45 minutes. If larger areas are done with the max applicator (which treats 2 1/2 times the area as a regular applicator), that treatment is also 45 minutes.
Our office currently has 3 machines, so multiple areas can be treated at the same time, reducing the time of treatment significantly.
At our office, we look you over and come up with the ideal treatment plan that fits your specific body.
Many people are happy with a single treatment, while others will choose to treat the areas again.
You didn't specify what laser treatment you are getting, but in general, it is best to avoid sun exposure a few weeks prior to and after laser treatment. Speak with with your dermatologist so they can review the details with you. Have a good trip- don't forget your sunscreen!
