I would strongly encourage you to contact the injector today. They should be available to see you. This could represent a hematoma (blood from a broken blood vessel) which will subside w/time but it could be too much filler or uneven filler which can indeed be dissolved by skillfully injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase.&nbsp; This works within a few minutes. In some cases people can be allergic to a component of the filler. Your pictures show both lips are quite puffy and the delayed symmetric onset suggests this might be the case. Also, some folks are allergic to topical numbing agents.&nbsp; The doc can sort this out and possibly prescribe medication to treat an allergic reaction. In the mean time gently ice the areas; this might reduce some swelling and inflammation.

I just got juvederm on Thursday . They looked okay when I left but as I got home they were getting huge and swollen . It's now Friday evening and it has a huge lump and looks extremely disproportioned . I'm really disappointed and self conscious about it . I know swelling is normal but I feel like I got an overall bad job . Should I wait longer before I go back to get it dissolved . Any help is appreciated

Great question! First I'd only have a board certified Derm or Plastics doctor inject. Check the Allergan website to verify the doc is listed as one of their injectors. Finally I would ask to examine the box and look at the box as well as the syringes for the Allergan lot number.

When I was reading other post I came across a doctor who mention to be careful because there are "not real juvaderm filler products that are trying to be infiltrated into the US. As a patient how can you tell what is real and what is not? Thank You for any feedback

How can you tell if your doctor is using the real Juvaderm/juvaderm voluma filler or an alternative?

I'd suggest consultation face to face w/whomever will be offering the procedure. Every case we treat is different.&nbsp; We did use Ultherapy in our practice for several years and it does work moderately well to tighten tissue in selected cases. It is indeed painful and expensive. I encourage you consider other non - invasive options, such as those using radiofrequency devices; we've switched over to Forma (InMode) as I'm impressed w/their results and the procedure is relatively painless and less expensive to the consumer.

A provider has suggested that in addition to full face and neck Ultherapy that they can do "add on's" on top of the full procedures for added benefit (and cost). So for example they offer (additonal lines) for jowls and eyes on top of the full face and neck treatment. My question is if it is definitely a benefit to do this or maybe they are just trying to up-sale me? Any advice is appreciated.

Actually as scary as this sounds in skilled hands its a pretty gentle, simple procedure. I'd consult w/the dermatologist in your area!

I have a mole on my vagina, I don't like it because it rises up and is kind of ugly. I've heard you can get it removed but is it expensive and painful?

Melasma will not be effected by botox or fillers. You are at no more risk than any other patient to have these treatments!

I am considering fillers for my nasolabials but am concerned because I have melasma on my upper lip. Will the injection and/or fillers cause the melasma to worsen. Also I have melasma between my eyebrows and was considering Botox to treat my frown lines. Can the injection cause the melasma to worsen?

A mole that sticks out like this in this location is often best treated with shave excision, done routinely by derms in the office. The fee will be a couple hundred dollars including pathology report.&nbsp; However, I'd get a face to face consultation to go over the pros and cons, and the risk of recurrence.

I asked this question before and got server different answers, but I'm not sure which is my best bet.The story is that it's a burn from my toddler years but I'm not so sure anymore. I'm particularly worried about the visibility of this area and the pigment of my skin, I'd really like a solution with little to no scarring. Also could you offer an estimate cost to procedures available to me?

The implications of having a dysplastic nevus depends upon more than just this mole alone; your family history and the types of other moles you have, as well as your prior history of atypical moles or of melanoma are all considered when we care for patients w/dysplastic nevi. If the dermatologist has suggested re-excision I suspect its after considering the report as well as these other factors.&nbsp; The truth is that some can progress to melanoma, some will not, and its hard to know which (or when) until it occurs. I'd trust the dermatologists opinion but be sure when you see him/her to have your questions answered and share your concerns about healing up.

Results from mole shave show "moderate dysplasia" &amp; its recommended I have remainder of it excised. Nurse said it most likely wouldn't turn into melanoma but they still advise I remove it. Its on my upper chest &amp; always visible. I'll already have a scar from shave biopsy &amp; it would really bother me having an inch long scar from having it excised, if I don't absolutely need to have it done. What are stats of moderate dysphasia? Can we just monitor the area instead of excision?

Ultherapy and Thermage (or other tissue tightening procedures whether they use RF or ultrasound) target several millimeters deep in the tissue.&nbsp; Your list of concerns is more superficial and best addressed with intense pulsed light or superficial radiofrequency devices such as Fractora (by InMode), some lasers, or chemical peels. I'd see an experienced derm or plastic surgeon and review the many options then customize a regimen for your specific needs.

The best plan is customized for you with consultation with a dermatologist and/or esthetician, but at your age the most likely plan is: 1)diligent use of sunscreens and topical antioxidant serums on a daily basis 2)consider topical retinoid at night 3)hydrating microdermabrasion I don't generally do laser rejuvenation on anyone in your age group. It is likely unnecessary, expensive, and more complicated than what you would need or want!

Fillers, unlike botox, are packaged in full syringes which cannot be shared among different patients.&nbsp; I would suggest visting w/the doctor who will inject you and discuss injecting the balance of the syringe in another area on your face. Glad you like the results so far but unfortunately you'll need to pay for a full syringe unless you can negotiate a lesser fee. Another thought would be to put up w/your current results and then get your next filler injected a bit early before the current filler is metabolized, then one more syringe might give you just what you like.&nbsp; Many of my filler patients need a bit less filler over time because of some lingering benefit of the filler (or perhaps new collagen being formed).

Going back Tuesday to get my second set of injections for the lines that run from corner to the nose to the lip. Last time I needed a full syringe. Results are good, lines are softened, but I want them to be gone. I don't have enough money for another full syringe so I was wondering if the doctor can only use a half a syringe and still give me good results.
