5 out of 5 stars Sleeve Gastrectomy

Saved My Life

Everyone and everything involved in this process was amazing. I was 26 and for years felt like I wasn't living, I was just existing. When I had my procedure, I weighed in at 255 lbs. I'm only 5' 5". I had always been thin growing up until I was in my early 20s. A combination of medication, terrible diet, minimal exercise, and a static job, led to severe weight gain, very quickly. I was so...

5 out of 5 stars Lap Band

Amazing Surgeon

My surgery was a reversal of a lapband and a vertical sleeve. Everything went as planned. Virtually no post op pain. Pain was minor and only at one of the incision points. Dr Pleatman did my lapband 13 years ago and has been excellent on followup and recommendation for new treatments. Great Surgeon.

45 Year Old with Type 2 Diabetes Among Other Things - Hamtramck, MI

45 year old with type 2 diabetes among other things. I had complications from a lap-band that was placed by another surgeon. Dr. Pleatman went over the national statistics for each of the various surgeries, in regards to a number of factors ( improvement in weight loss, diabetes, etc). He made sure I had the information I needed to make an informed decision about the type of surgery I was...

Dr. Mark Pleatman - Bloomfield Hills, MI

After researching Dr. Pleatman, and various other reasons, I chose him (and luckily he also chose me) for my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery. I had only spoke to him and his staff through email and via phone conversation and they were always very responsive and very timely to respond to my questions. I scheduled my surgery for 6 months, March 17, 2016. This would give me emought...

A New Life. Bloomfield Hills, MI

I'm so grateful to Dr. Pleatman for accepting me as a patient. He is a wonderful doctor. Honest, straight forward, caring. Others have said he doesn't have a "bedside manner", but I did not feel that. He is reserved, but very nice. Told me exactly what to expect, which I appreciated. He has given me a new life, saved my life. I have been able to get off several meds. All of his staff are...

Grateful for a Great Surgeon! - Bloomfield Hills, MI

Dr Pleatman had patience with me and all my questions that I'm sure he answered a thousand times before. Cari, Adele, and Erin were all so kind and wonderful! I can't necessarily say that about some of the hospital nurses, but that's another story. I'm off to a great start. Slow and steady wins the race right?!

29 Yrs Old & Ready for a New Chapter! Bloomfield Hills, MI

Since middle school I have had problems with my weight. Diet and exercise only helped somewhat. A few years ago I was able to lose 30 lbs before I got married, but that only put me at a 31 BMI, and it has slowly crept back up to 35. I've struggled for so long, feeling ashamed that I couldn't manage my weight. I started the gastric sleeve journey not long ago... I have no co-morbidities...

My Surgeon is Fabulous! Bloomfield Hills, MI

While visiting my endocrinologist in April of this year, I discovered I had reached my "that's it" point. I was over 300lbs. I had to do something. So I chose to have weight loss surgery, specifically a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I'm still early in, 10 days post op, but I know I've made the best decision for me, with the options available to me. Now its up to me to use the tool I have been...
