QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Thank you for the question Sheneil,

It is early to judge your final result, but it appears that your nipple is along the lower 1/3rd of your breast. Your tissues will relax over the next six months and the implants will drop, but I don't think your nipple location will centralize. You will most likely require a breast lift for optimal results.

Thank you for the question Juju Simm.

Granted you are early in your recovery, it appears your IMF may be tight and/or constricting your implants. Although your tissues will soften and loosen as you heal over the next six months, I believe you will need a surgical revision for improvement. Good luck and be well.

Hi Emily58,

At 22 your breast is fully grown unless you become pregnant or gain a large amount of weight. You do have a mild tuberous appearance and it is correctable with a breast augmentation. There are a few techniques your surgeon can use to address the cone shape you refer to. Be sure to state your goals clearly when you talk with your surgeon so he/she knows you want the cone addressed at surgery. Good luck.

Dear Bambi,

Thank you for your question. In my opinion, you look fabulous for two months after surgery. Breast implants usually settle over a time period of 3-6 months. Give them more time, say another 2 months. If you are still concerned, circle back to your surgeon. Gravity always wins and they will settle. Good luck.

Hello A2C hopefully,

You need a surgical revision to adjust your implant pockets. Its difficult to say exactly what procedure is needed without any preop photos, but a capsule procedure and perhaps new smaller implants. Reach out to your PS for guidance and good luck.

Hello Mommysnewgirls2017,

The probability of having capsular contracture is very low. Your capsule or internal is not yet mature enough to cause the symptom you are having. Its most likely a muscle pull or strain. If it has not improved over 1-3 days, give your surgeon a call and be examined...is the best way to know for sure. Be well.

Your photos show a normal result that I would grade as excellent. If you have already seen a different surgeon than your operative and they have said things are OK.....go with that. If you keep looking you will find a surgeon who needs to operate on you and then the revisions will start. Good luck and be well.

Things do not look normal. You have to circle back with your PS and be sure you are satisfied and comfortable with the explanations. Good luck and be well.

Based off your goal photos and your push up swim suit, I would suggest implants alone, probably on top of your muscle to give you the fullest best result. Good luck and be well.

From your photos you would need both an anchor lift and implant to restore your full breast shape. Good luck and be well.

Breast Reduction

29 years old/no kids/36DDD

I am 29 years old and was previously a 36 DDD if not bigger. I went through the surgery and should now be a B/C. My breast were hanging low and were very painful. Could not exercise well. I did see a chiropractor and did physical therapy for months but that was not helping the problem. After being approved by my insurance, it took about 3 months to get the surgery. I am currently 4 days post op and everything is going well. I was having issue breathing so I went to the doctor and they changed the bandages for me and also decided to take the drains out as well since there was no fluid coming out. So far I am very impressed by what my breast looks like only after a couple days. Updated on 21 Apr 2019: The outcome is just amazing. The pain has been minimal. It does get uncomfortable when it swells but that is something that I will gladly take compared to the pain I had before the surgery. Updated on 23 Apr 2019: It’s been a week since I had the surgery done and everything is looking pretty good. I still have to wait a week to see what the nipples looks like. Updated on 3 May 2019: May 2nd was my 2 weeks post op. Everything went well. Due to the size of my breast, I had to get a nipple graft. I finally was able to see what they looked like. Doctors said everything is looking really good. Now due to the nipple graft , I unfortunately have no sensation left. They also said that the nipples would stay flat. Next week they will finally be able to remove the surgical tape. Updated on 11 May 2019: I am just in love with what I have now ! It’s been 3 crazy weeks but the results are just incredible. My right ( left on picture) boob is still pretty swollen which makes it look uneven compare to the other side.

Extremely happy with my breast implant surgery! I have been flat chested my entire life and needed some help. I explained my preference of size and shape to Dr.Maguire and with his expertise he was able to provide me with excellent results. I was very impressed with Southcoast surgery center. The nurses provided excellent care. Recovery time wasn't bad at all and pain was minimal. The incision sites are very discrete and are healing nicely. My follow up appointments are going well. Dr.Maguire sincerely makes sure that I am happy with the results and his nurse Jill has been excellent support throughout the experience.

21 Years Old, Petite Looking for Confidence Boost - Fairhaven, MA

After having consultations with various doctors I knew walking into Dr Maguire's office was going to be different. Everything from the kind, welcoming approach of the staff to his friendly bedside manner, I knew he was the one I trusted most. The staff was polite, they called me by name, remembered my surgery date. Even the smallest details like complimenting my hair cut or counting down the days with me really made me that much happier to have chosen their practice. Dr Maguire was honest and patient from the beginning, taking my wants into consideration and also adding in his professional opinion. I'm more than pleased with the results and with the care and service I received from Dr Maguire and his staff. Updated on 22 May 2015: I am now on my third day post op! First day was a little rough, I couldn't keep much food down because I was still feeling the effects of the anesthesia. Luckily, I was able to sleep the day through! The next couple of days got much better, I can get up out of bed and use the bathroom and do more things on my own now, don't feel like I have to have eyes on me 24:7! Not used to the weight and pressure on my chest quite yet! Still feels like a ton of bricks every time I stand up straight! Loving results so far! Updated on 23 May 2015: Still very high and skin very tight but feeling much more comfortable and mobile! Able to get up and move around by myself a lot better. Loving the progress! Updated on 25 May 2015: So excited today definitely seeing some major changes! I purchased this bra a few days ago, in a size that is much bigger than I was before Surgery and I was sure it would fit and I was disappointed when I tried it on and couldn't clasp the front! Tried it again today, few days later, and was able to clasp it together and I am so comfortable!! I've been wrapping myself up in those Velcro bandages and they have been awful! Uncomfortable, ithy, bulky. I feel amazing in this bra!! Still put a little layer of gauze underneath so it sit comfortable on my incision, but gosh it feels great! Updated on 10 Jun 2015: So happy with the results! I'm feeling confident and everyone around me notices. I'm still waiting for them to soften up a little bit but overall loving my results! So happy and thankful!!

JMS1123

30 Year Old; No Children; Active and Healthy; Very Small Chest - Fairhaven, MA

I was very motivated to have this procedure done and thought about it for 10 years. I wanted to make sure I was mature enough to handle the procedure and that I was making it for the right decision. When I turned 30, I knew I was ready. I had absolutely no breast tissue and was nearly a AA. I was uncomfortable in swim wear, sports bras, and most all clothing. I wanted to feel more confident with my body.

I was always uncomfortable w my breasts and knew I wanted an augmentation but was terrified of surgery. Now my only wish was that I had done it years ago. They are perfect. Dr. Maguire performed the breast augmentation & also gave me his suggestions but always keeping in mind what I wanted. They are truly perfect & I can't wait to wear a bikini this summer!!

Dr. Maguire is great he is so easy going and polite. His office staff couldn't be nicer. They helped me with all my prior authorizations for insurance. Dysport

Rosebudz2015

Amazing - Fairhaven, MA

Hello, I wanted to share my great expierence of Dr. Kevin Maguire and his staff. I squint all the time and had the lines between my eyebrows because of it. I would get headaches from squinting in my forehead and couldnt take it any longer. I went to Southcoast plastic surgeons Dr. Maguire and I am so happy I did. I no longer get headaches, and the comments from people thinking that I am frowning has stopped. I am now a true fan of dysport and the office. The staff made me feel very comfortable and relaxed because I am not a fan of needles. Dr. Maguire will also explain the places he feels that you need the injections.. I give 5 stars and will be back to have my next round when needed...

Breast Reconstruction

Carol518

Three extra surgeries - I believe that the left side was not properly placed

Dr. Maguire put in breast expanders following double mastectomy. I believe that the left side was not properly placed, as it was always lower and more to the side. The first implants resulted in my being 3 inches smaller than the size I was with the expanders, which resulted with my having another surgery to put in expanders once again. Before the surgery to put in new implants I asked Dr. Maguire if he could move the left side up and over to match the right side. He said he could with a few stitches. This was not the case, as I was still very lopsided. So, I went to a new plastic surgeon who had to put in a mesh sling. When I called Dr. Maguire’s office To cancel my future appointments for nipple reconstruction, the response was “Okay”. When asked if I wanted to reschedule, I said “no”. I felt guilty about calling to cancel, until I got a response that told me that no one really cared.

49 Years Old/ Rashes - Fairhaven, MA

I am hoping to alleviate the rashes that have plagued me for years. I also have shoulder pain from my bra straps so I hoping this will help me. My surgery is sked for May 13, 2013 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA Nervous and excited at the same time. I am hoping that I can also continue my weight loss and exercise once I have healed. Also going on vacation in July to florida and hopefully will be healed by then Updated on 12 May 2015: 5/12/15 Very nervous. They are keeping me overnight for observation. Posting pic prior to surgery. will post post op when avail. see you soon Updated on 13 May 2015: Feeling good actually other than some swelling, not much pain at all. Taking pain meds as ordered..I'm a stomach sleeper. so don't know how much actual sleep I'm gonna get but gotta try..No drains, just wrapped up tightly..no showering until after 1st post -op appointment may 21 so this should be fun. Updated on 13 May 2015: Updated on 16 May 2015: No pain at all. The itching was driving me absolutely crazy so I called the ps. He said it was probably because of the gauze against my skin and it was irritating my skin, so he had he cut off the bandages and let the wounds get some air. The itching is so much less now..feels great...Let me say this again..NO pain at all. Gonna put a dressing back on before bed. PS said to put on a cotton tshirt before the ace bandages so it does not touch my skin. Updated on 18 May 2015: having some anxiety about the way my left nipple is looking..looks to have some fluid underneath it and is squishy. the right looks perfect. aligned well to my skin. just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if it is normal?
