Having just failed at Invisalign twice (my aligners wouldn't stay in my mouth at night due to grinding, so my teeth shifted and the aligners no longer fit), I opted to try again with fixed braces. Being a 34 year old professional, I wanted the most discreet option available while still being a fixed/non-removable option. I opted for Damon braces, which I am told I will need to wear for approximately nine months.

My mouth is sore and eating is awkward and painful. But I am feeling optimistic about my smile after my treatment.

I like the progress so far, but as my teeth straighten the chip on my front tooth seems much more obvious. When I'm done with braces I will have to deal with that.

It's still very weird to get used to not having braces. I went in this morning and the orthodontist Took off the brackets. Then he polished it all up and the final result is amazing. As someone who had crooked teeth their entire life, it's very strange looking in the mirror. Once I get used to it, I think I will be very happy!
