Pregnancy and breastfeeding can take their toll on the body, resulting in excess weight gain, sagging skin, and other issues that cannot be treated with diet and exercise alone. Many of my Bethesda, Maryland patients opt for the mommy makeover to restore and improve the appearance of the abdomen and breasts through a combination of two or three procedures. Depending on the patient’s needs, the mommy makeover may include a breast augmentation, a breast lift or breast revision, liposuction, and/or a tummy tuck. During pregnancy, the abdominal muscles can become stretched. A tummy tuck, also called an abdominoplasty, repairs the muscles while removing the extra skin and tightening the area to reveal a dramatically improved silhouette. This can be combined with liposuction to remove stubborn pockets of excess fat in areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, arms, thighs, hips, and more. Both of these procedures can be done with a breast augmentation and/or breast lift.

The face is the first thing people see when they look at you. Unfortunately, over time, the skin and the connective tissue in our face and neck can lose its elasticity, altering our features. There can be a noticeable droop and sagging that cannot be corrected even with the most expensive face creams. The good thing is, a face and neck lift can correct this, bringing back that youthful and refreshed appearance we all covet. Patients in the D.C. and Maryland area who are interested in a face and neck lift can be sure to expect the absolute best care at my practice. First, we will meet to discuss your exact aesthetic goals; then, we will figure which areas to target for improvement and what that will entail. This might include treating the forehead and upper area of the face, the eyelids, the midface, or the cheeks and neck. The procedure, which can consist of removing excess fat, tightening the muscles, and skin redraping, will make you look years younger, but in a natural-looking way

Dr. Magge is an expert in male breast reduction and one of the busiest gynecomastia surgeons on the east coast. He routinely has patients flying in from across the country for gynecomastia surgery and performs hundreds each year. The surgery is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or straight local anesthesia is an option as well and is performed in his on site AAAA certified operating suite.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Magge went on to complete his general surgery training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and his plastic surgery residence at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center. He was also fellowship trained in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

An acclaimed and revered surgeon in his field, Dr. Magge has had his work published in numerous medical journals and presented at various lectures and conferences throughout the country. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Previously, he held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery for Northeast Ohio Medical University.

When he is not helping his patients in Maryland, he volunteers his time and skills during international medical missions to children in need of surgery for cleft plates and other facial deformities.
