Sorry to hear that you are still in some pain. Unfortunately everyone heals differently so its hard to say if this is common for you. I have had patients not hurt at all and had patients heal a lot slower and are in discomfort for close to 2 weeks. I would recommend that you see your dentist for a post op check to insure that there is no infection or anything wrong with the implants themselves (just as a precaution) 

had 4 implants 10 days ago [ lower ] after stitching denture modified and placed on implants w temp cement..still quite painful..is this a common result…told that bone was good ..all i have read has not been negative...

Without seeing any x rays or picture, seems like he is wanting to perform graft to repair defect around that tooth. The thing would be to ask the long term prognosis of that tooth. And also what I do is stay the procedure to repair and when I get in and can actually see what's going on I can make a better decision on whether we can save the tooth or not. Sometimes it might be better prognosis to remove the tooth place bone and come back with an implant. Hope this helps

I have an infected molar (#31) with some bone loss and saw a Periodontist today. He told me he will try to save the tooth and do a bone graft. If he can't save the tooth he will extract it and still do the bone graft. I am researching everything I can online and see no information about performing a bone graft proceedure with tooth in place. Am I being mislead with false hope of saving the tooth? Cost - $2,032 (with dental discount plan)

Is it common for a bone graft to be done with a Molar in place to save the tooth while bone grows around it?

just by looking, it seems that you have an anterior (front) open bite and unfortunetly orthodontics is the only way to fix. Hope this helps and good luck

I am 25 years old and I had braces for 2.5 years when I was 17-19 years old. It took longer than it should have because the orthodontist made a mistake and I was still not happy in the end. I've been wearing my retainers (now nightly - the bottom one is a night guard since I grind my teeth). My top teeth protrude out and when I bite down naturally only my back molars touch. I never had this problem before braces. I can bite down to make my bite better, but it looks like an underbite from outside

By looking at the picture, it seems like the tooth can still be saved and does not have to be taken out. To save the tooth it looks like it will need root canal therapy and crown, also the front tooth looks like it has a decent size cavity as well. When you visit your dentist he or she will take X-rays and this will allow for more exact treatment to be diagnosed. Your dentist should also given you treatment options to fix your teeth. Good Luck

Yes veneers are a really great option to change out old composite and really change the appearance of your anterior teeth. Your regular dentist is more than qualified to preform this procedure. Good Luck

I realize I would have to grind down the bonds, but is this just a big mess I am causing myself or will the veneers look great. It's a lot of money and I want it to be worth it. Also, could I do this with my regular dentist or should I see a specialist?

Not knowing your situation finically, regional or orally, I can only suggest what I assume. In my area there are places like you went to for people without instance, you may want to try to find another one in a different area. I know we have multiple clinics in the area. There is also places that are discounted like "affordable dentures." Also different places in US are cheaper than others so if you are willing to drive or fly you could get a break that way. You probably tried something like care credit or lending club for financing. Just trying to suggest everything to my knowledge. Some options are better than other of course. Good Luck

36y/o and was never taught how to care for my teeth. So since it was never instilled it was never applied. I'll go to a dentist only when It's too painful to bear. I'm always in slight pain or an uncomfortable feeling. My front 2 broke and I went to a bad dental place for ppl w/no insurance and had them removed for bad partials. here I am, still w/ugly yellow teeth that break and crack. hate talking. Never smile. Always holding my lips when I do speak. Dental schools are full. Any suggestions?

the easiest fastest way is to find a dentist with a erbium yag laser to remove the veneers this ensures that just the veneer is removed.

it looks like there is a good amount of decay and this is what caused your tooth to break. If indeed this is the case I would suggested getting it taken out as soon as possible due to the risk of infection. As far as replacing a flipper would be the cheapest option. Hope this helps. No, there should be no shrinking. The material we use does not shrink. It could be that it feels rough or that you chipped the material in half.

I just got my two front teeth filled in because they were chipped. It has been about 4 hours and I've noticed that behind my teeth the bonding material feels as if it has shrunk by half. Is that supposed to happen or should I be concerned? The bottom and front both feel fine however, no noticeable shrinkage like behind the two front teeth.

First off if your teeth are not steady, which I assume you mean they are loose, the question becomes very difficult to answer. I can tell you that if they are truly compromised there is no quick fix and may involve taking those teeth out(depending on how not steady they are). I would suggest see your dentist for X-rays and exam to determine what needs to be done.

I am 31 years old. My front 4 teeth have a 3 mm gap &amp; are not steady. What is the quick and low cost remedy for it?
