Very professional - he is very experienced

Dr. Schwartz and his staff were very professional. I had endovascular vein ablation on both legs which went very well. He is very experienced and gave accurate expectations for post procedure and clear instructions. I will be back for the spider veins that have plagued me since I was young.

Excellent experience

Dr. Schwartz explained everything in detail to me about the vein removal procedure. He was meticulous during the procedure, my bruising diminished quickly, and he was equally concerned about my progress in my follow-up appointments. I have already recommended him to others.

In September I received treatment for the removal of varicose veins from both of my legs.

In September I received treatment for the removal of varicose veins from both of my legs. During my visits I found Dr. Schwartz’s staff to be very friendly and polite. Dr. Schwartz himself was professional and very thorough in explaining the procedures and what to expect afterwards. I take pleasure in saying that I'm very pleased with the results and how well my legs have healed. I'm looking forward to continue my teaching of preschoolers without having to deal with the pain in my legs that I had endured.

Still sweat, but a huge difference.

Similar to anyone else looking into miradry, I've had hyperhidrosis since puberty. I have suffered the typical social and physical impacts; I've always gravitated towards black or white shirts, whites were ruined with yellow pit stains after a few outings, I would sweat heavily even in non-stressful situations or cooler temps, my hands slip on my steering wheel and I have to wipe them on my pants before I greet people, my feet slip around in my shoes during warmer temps, etc. I was always conscious of other's observation of my issue, but I believed I was destined to suffer socially my whole life. I submitted to wearing armpit pads during nice evenings out and during the summer at work, because my inability to wear anything of color was starting to put a damper on my wardrobe and life. That's when I heard about miradry. I'm cautious about medical procedures usually, but I threw caution into the wind and after a couple weeks of research and reading reviews I booked my appointment. The lead-up to the procedure was painfree and easy. I decided to have a consult with my physician first, just to meet him and decide if I vibed well with him. Day of, they measured my armpits and left a graph of where to apply the machine head, then they got to work. As far as the procedure itself, I have a moderate pain tolerance but it was still uncomfortable. The injection of the blocking agent was the most painful part, the actual miradry laser was not. The nurse told me very seriously to ice immediately and don't stop all night, because some major swelling was about to happen. She was not joking. The days after were very uncomfortable, and for 36 hours I could not work, drive, cook, or dress myself due to swelling and painful bruising. My husband dressed me and took up all housework during that time. My recommendation would be to have someone available to help you if needed, or prepare ahead of time. Obviously everyone reacts to injury different, so you may be very mobile afterward. I was not. However, 48 hours after I was much more comfortable (although very swollen) and mobile. I was fortunate enough to be off work that Friday and the weekend, so I only missed 1.5 days of the work week but had 4 days of recovery. I deeply appreciated every single one of those days. I also iced every 1-2 hours during the whole weekend. By my return to work on Monday, most of the dramatic swelling was gone and I was left with some soreness, bruising, and little nodules many others describe. My doctor warned me these nodules would occur and slowly absorb over the next few months, and they did after about 2 months. I also noticed some superficial numbness of the armpit, which he also said is normal and returns. That did as well, and I am left with no residual pain, swelling, tingling or numbness 5 months later. The sweat started to slowly return after about 2-3 months, which is a typical timeframe for another miradry procedure. Even with the side effects, I would have done it again had I been able to afford it, but I am still very happy with the single procedure. Overall, my sweat has been reduced by an estimated 65-70%, my armpit hair by about 60%, and smell 90-95%. Its summer in Missouri right now (90-100°), and I had some sweat stains yesterday just under the size of a half dollar. I sweat when I workout, and when I'm active at work (I'm a nurse, so lots of brisk walking). During most normal days I can feel some mild moisture present all day, enough that lightly dabs onto a facial tissue (just to quantify). But I no longer drip sweat when I'm relaxed, or even during stressful situations if the temp is controlled. I used to drip sweat to my ribs while simply drinking my morning coffee reading the paper, but not anymore. I can wear colors, and enjoy social activities without worrying about looking like someone poured a glass of water on my shirt. I could say that my sweat is so mild now, that I can recall specific events when I sweated more than a nickel sized spot. That's how much it's been improved. Now, I also do not believe in 100% of anything, so don't go into this procedure thinking it's the same for everyone and you'll never sweat again. My doctor was very realistic with me, which is why I chose him. He said, "Most patients who receive miradry are actually not truly a hyperhidrosis case, they are normal sweaters. They respond well and have maximum sweat reduction. Now, compared to a TRUE hyperhidrosis patient, they can have similar reduction in sweat glands during 1 procedure, but the glands left will produce 3x more than the normal, non-hyperhidrosis patient. That's where the variance occurs. For those people, we recommend a second treatment." Lastly, remember that armpits account for only 2% of your sweat glands, which means if it's hotter than heck outside, your OTHER sweat glands surrounding your armpit will play a part in the sweat rings you see at the end of the day. I think this also plays a role in the variance of outcome with miradry. TL;DR In conclusion, I am fully healed after a moderately painful miradry procedure and have moderate reductions in sweat, smell, and hair. I am satisfied with my outcome and recommend it for anyone looking to reduce sweat in the armpit. Thanks for reading!

Response from Dr.Craig Schwartz, DOmiraDry is a wonderful underarm sweat reduction treatment! If you would like to come back in for a complimentary consultation, we can discuss a follow-up treatment to take care of the last sweat glands still producing sweat. 90% of miraDry patients are satisfied with their sweat reduction after 1 treatment - approximately 10% do require a follow-up, especially if they have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis.

Dealing with Hyperhydrosis for 10 Years. Leawood, KS

Ive been dealing with excessive sweating for about ten years now. I could be freezing cold and would still sweat under my arms. I looked into mira dry and found an office in Kansas. I had my procedure on Wednesday 11/2 . First they measured my armpits. Then the doctor injected the numbing liquid in my armpits. That hurt a little bit when he first started but once it kicked in (not even a minute) it got numb and I didn't feel it anymore. I did bleed a little from the needles but not too much. I believe the doctor injected me in every single black dot on my armpit but I'm not too sure. The doctors left the room for about 15-20 minutes so the numbness kick in more. By the time they came back, my pits were super numb and they were a bit swollen. The doctor began to use the mira dry machine. The only thing I felt was pressure. That part didn't take long at all. Once she finished each arm she cleaned it and placed an ice pack under. Once I got home my pits were a bit swollen but not hardly. (in the picture above you can see the dots but its not as swollen). The first day wasn't bad, BUT once the numbness wore off I was in pain. My pits hurt bad and I had a small burning sensation in my right pit. The first night I couldn't sleep , it was terrible. I woke up the next morning still in pain and they were so much bigger and bruised. I couldn't hold my arms directly next to my body. (felt like a balloon in my armpits). I used ice packs, ibuprofen and have been massaging them. The bruising left after two days. Its been 5 days post procedure and there is no bruising but my pits are still a bit swollen. I think they will go down in the next few days and everything will be normal. ** The best part about the procedure is directly after I had no sweat and have had no sweat ever since mira dry. Its worth it!
