Just here to scream to the mountains and rave about Dr. Florence Mussat in Chicago. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve spent the last 8 months thinking I was dying and that I would never be able to get the help I needed from a surgeon. I’m a single mom and I do not get any help. I live downtown Chicago and life is so expensive. So to be quoted $15,000+ for a surgery that you feel will save your life but you literally cannot afford, was the most defeating feeling on earth. I had a horrible first breast surgery experience my first time. A bad lift, capsular contractor on my implant, and horrible bedside manner/facility. I was not new to plastic surgery, the place i got my breast done at was like a chop house and i can’t say it enough, I regret not researching my augmentation doctor more prior to surgery. Dr. Mussat instantly let me know that my insurance would cover my explant because I have Lupus. And all I’d have to pay for is the fixing. She said I had a good amount of natural breast tissue and could easily do the lift but would need to do slight lipo on the side to avoid a flap. I just trusted whatever she said. She got the acceptance from then within 9 days. I showed her my pre baby boobs and said, all I want is to look like that again and feel like I can breathe again. She took such great care of me. I even had a night in the hospital covered by insurance to make me more comfortable with the pain. She sent me photos immediately of what she took out, the inside of my breast, and anything I requested. I was suffering from BII She gave me her personal cell to contact at ANYTIME and meant it. She exceeded my expectations and I just left my follow up where she took my tape off. I genuinely started crying. I never thought I’d see my old pretty pre baby boobs again. From the moment i got woken up from surgery, I was crying cause i felt like i could breathe again and i wasn’t suffocating anymore. So to not only have my natural dream boobs again while feeling healthier, i am just so happy. Anyways, for anyone in Chicago looking, I would recommend 100 times over. I explanted due to ongoing health issues that I was experiencing. Everything on the Breast Implant Illness list I had. Really satisfied with the outcome, surgery was March 2021. I was afraid I'd need a fat transfer, DR was correct when she said I had enough tissue and I would experience additional fluffing.

I’ve had implants for 3.5 years. Shortly after my daughters birth in April 2020 all my BII symptoms started and my health went downhill within a matter of weeks. I’m 34 fairly active, so after seeing my regular family physician and doing labs I knew immediately my breast implants were starting to poison me. I was that girl who thought maybe BII only affects those who already have some underlying health issues. I was very wrong. Breast Implant Ilness known as BII is very, very real and will suck the life out of you. I had probably every symptom. I started researching and found Dr. Mussat on google. After reading her reviews and researching her site and meeting her I knew this was the women who God had placed in my life to help restore my health the that happy women, wife, and mother I was once. Dr. Mussat does En Bloc with full capsulectomy (removal of the capsule) that is formed around the implant. During my first consult I just knew she is the Dr. I needed and was skilled to perform explants. I am only 6 days post explant and although I still have a lot of the symptoms of BII and I know it will take time to heal my body and rid it of all those years of toxins. But, I feel pretty good. I could see more clearly and i no longer feel like I’m being poisoned daily and I’m slowly dying. I hardly experienced any pain post surgery, she really takes care of her patients and does her work with a passion. Your in the best care, she knows what she’s doing. Thank you Dr. Mussat for giving me a little push in restoring my health.

Excellent!!! After searching for the doctor to remove my 30-year-old ruptured, textured, double-lumen silicone implants; I felt confident choosing Dr. Mussat. Being a health care provider myself (my expectations are pretty high), I knew my surgery would be difficult due to the type of implant placed and grade IV capsule with rupture diagnosed on MRI. Dr. Mussat was amazing. She performed total en block capsulotomy with the removal of implants (220cc left/260cc right), breast lift with underarm liposuction. I am 5 days post-op, drains removed yesterday and I feel and look terrific! Mentally and physically, Dr. Mussat has changed my life. I will be forever grateful. BTW, these implants came out just in the nic of time. My right breast developed an open non-healing sore from the rupture 2 weeks ago and my left breast developed a skin rash noted the morning of surgery. I can not say enough about Dr. Mussat and her accommodating staff. My pre, intra, and post-op care was top notch. Her genuine concern for her patients is obvious. Dr. Mussat is knowledgeable, talented and kind. Trust her guidance, I am SO blessed to have found her! (will try to post pics soon)

I chose Dr. Mussat after many years of research. I have wanted this done since 2011. THIS website helped me make my decision, as that breast implant illness group on facebook was telling me NOT to go to her. I left it because they were trying to bully me into choosing another DR, which I did not want to based on a comparison to Mussat's amazing work.. That facebook group named after a woman to give her attention asks for cash from it's members. NO facebook group needs a dime, so avoid them completely and stick with reviews and this website!! Anyway, My mother in-law is a nurse of 40 years and I sent her a pic of my breast now, even all new and bandaged and she was very impressed with Dr Mussat's work. I am SO glad she was able to keep my ruptured implant contained when removing it (en bloc). It was also nice to finally have the validation that I had a rupture. I always knew it. I developed a hematoma (it happens) and needed a second surgery the same day, and she was on it. She prescribed me xanax for the night prior to surgery and the morning of. I slept 6 entire hours pre-op, which I have NEVER done because of nerves in the past...and I was able to go to the hospital and be about 60% LESS anxious and freaking out than I had during my last surgery (myomectomy). I cannot tell you how much better it is to have something that helps you relax before you hack off your boobies! I am anti taking pills unless I need to, but question my previous Dr's on not helping me out a little bit in terms of freaking out. I cannot wait for 6 months to pass so I can see what I am left with. I am 2 weeks post op and they get better every day. So far, I can tell very skilled hands attempted to mold me back together again. i Highly recommend her for breast implant removal Updated on 11 Apr 2020: My surgery was the 6th. My breast I had double surgery on for the hematoma (left) is a bit wonky due to scar tissue. The rightbreast (I lost most of my real breast) looks adorable! I feel so much better physically and have high hopes my left breast will fall to its natural place over time. My nipples look AMAZING now. mussat fixed all the scarring left by Dr Frank Ryan.

I’d always been unhappy with the way my lady parts looked, but more importantly, they caused me discomfort when working out, etc. I was living in Madison, WI at the time and when I asked around with some area surgeons in the early stages of making my decision one literally said to me “oh my god, why would you want to do that?!” (I didn’t let her do my Botox either ????) After a lot of research I found Dr. Florence Mussat in Chicago. At my consult she took her time with me, and answered all of my questions. She explains the procedure in detail. She’s very elegant, and I feel has good taste in her aesthetic approach. I felt comfortable with her and booked my procedure for a couple weeks later. I drove to Chicago for the procedure which lasted about an hour. I recovered quickly and was staying at a local hotel for the night. Dr. Mussat was easily reachable by text and checked on me that night. The recovery went smoothly, and I’m so happy with my results. I’ve forgotten a lot of the finer details, as it was 4 years ago, but it was so worth it. I’ve never had any issues with sensitivity, or complications.

She is an amazing surgeon. She understands and believes in breast implant illness. She believes in removing all capsules to restore your health. She performed enbloc on under the muscle implants and removed my old capsules from above the muscles. She took pictures and a video for me. Sent in my capsules and implants for testing. Has me doing lots of work to help the tissue recover well. Physical therapy for ultrasound, manual therapy, cupping. She is amazing. Not only was I able to find a surgeon to do this procedure correctly, my pain was very manageable. And.. I woke up feeling better than I have in years by taking the implants and capsules out!

She is a compassionate Doctor who really cares about her patients. She really listens and answers your questions. When you meet other patients that have been treated by her, they will all say the same thing. Thank you Dr Mussat.

I did a lot of research and she was number one on my list for breast removal surgery. I am less than 2 weeks post op and I am feeling great, no complications! She is professional and has a lot of experience taking out breast implants. In the next 9 month's I will be having fat transfer surgery instead of new implants. It nice to have natural options instead of putting implants back in. She is very experienced with removal and fat transfer.
