Dr. Mandel is board certified in both plastic and reconstructive surgery, and general surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
He earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed his undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Dr. Benjamin Mandel was born and raised in New York City. After high school, he enrolled at Wesleyan University where he obtained a liberal arts degree with a focus on studio arts. He was awarded honors on his senior thesis, a series of etchings, woodcuts, and graphic art. Dr. Mandel then worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where he designed and programmed award winning educational software.
