Post-Pregnancy Procedures
As a proud dad to four children, I know the toll that pregnancy can take on the body. It has become my passion to help moms get their body back, and I have become recognized for my expertise in mommy makeover surgery in the Savannah area.
To ensure that my patients are as comfortable and satisfied as possible, I have incorporated several innovations into my mommy makeover surgery technique, including drainless tummy tucks, a range of options for breast lifts (including auto-augmentation mastopexy), breast implants in a variety of sizes and textures, and labiaplasty surgery. I have performed mommy makeovers on a diverse range of patients—including moms who have given birth to multiples, women who’ve experienced massive weight loss, and even professional bodybuilders—and achieved beautiful, natural-looking results.
Breast Surgery
Breast enhancement—performed as a single procedure or as part of a mommy makeover—is a big part of my practice in Savannah and Chatham County. I offer a wide array of options, including breast augmentation and breast lifts. In addition to my expertise and decades of experience, patients choose me because I’m a good listener. I make time to truly understand your expectations and recommend a surgical plan that will meet them. I spend a lot of time helping my patients try on implants and giving them the most say into what size, shape, style, or brand of implant they want. Because of this extra listening, I have some really happy patients, who almost always get what they really want. I offer an extensive range of breast implants, including Mentor, Inspira, and Sientra, as well as fat transfer breast augmentation, for patients interested in a more modest volume increase without implants.
Abdominoplasty
I am very passionate about abdominoplasty. Early in my career, we did clinical research on enhancing abdominal blood flow in abdominoplasty, TRAM flap breast reconstruction, and coronary artery bypass. As my practice evolved into a mostly cosmetic practice, I have worked very hard to improve my patients' experience with several innovations, including the Enhanced Recovery Protocols, DVT prevention, low (groin) scar technique, Better Belly Buttons, Drainless Tummy Tuck, use of Exparel to decrease pain and increase mobility, TIVA anesthetic, to minimze nausea and shorten recovery, and aggressive scar management techniques. After graduating magna cum laude from Murray State University, Dr. Curtsinger went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he earned multiple accolades and graduated in the top 20 percent of his class. After completing his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, he completed two fellowships—the first in wound healing at the University of Louisville and the second in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Curtsinger is extremely active in the medical community. He has been an assistant professor of plastic surgery at East Carolina University, the chief of plastic surgery and director of plastic surgery education at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, and was the 2018 president of the Georgia Medical Society. He frequently lectures about skin healing, and has authored 15 scientific papers on this subject and others. Dr. Curtsinger also co-founded the University Hospital Skin Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.
