Excellent Care and Knowledge

He was Amazing. He gained our(mine & my husbands) trust immediately. His compassion level is beyond wonderful. He truly cares about you! He honestly wants to do what is best for the patient. A man of integrity. He did an incredible job removing damaged breast implants that were almost 35 years old and replacing them with new breast. He did extra prep because it had been so many years there was no original surgery history. The entire pocedure had negligible pain. He did such a good job that recover was smooth. However,, I did do "Exactly as Dr. Woods instructed."

Having my implant burst was actually a blessing in disguise

Have to share that I had just a phenomenal experience with Dr. Woods, and his office assistant, Shannon. I had an implant rupture during a routine mammogram (at Northside) and did very extensive research before selecting Dr. Woods as my surgeon to remove and replace my saline implants. (BTW, Steer clear of the Swan Center who does assembly line volume surgeries in my opinion... and gave me an inferior implant in the first place) Dr. Woods is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Piedmont Hospital and came highly recommended to me by a friend who used him (after her own extensive research) for major reconstruction surgery as a result of breast cancer. Dr. Woods is a highly trained, and skilled surgeon. He is not "slick" like some of the other surgeons in the area are and does not try to "upsell" you with additional unnecessary surgery. I thought I might need a lift and he actually talked me out of it. He is an exceptional listener and helped me evaluate all options for the removal and replacement of implants. He helped me determine the best size implant for my body and really listened to the desired end results I wanted to accomplish. Having my implant burst was actually a blessing in disguise because I feel healthier and safer to have the old implants out of my body and replaced with high-quality implants. Many patients go with silicone implants these days and Dr. Woods can explain the pros and cons of silicone versus saline. He uses both and helps you as a patient decide what is right for you. I appreciated his sage guidance. Surgery was a breeze at Piedmont. Yes, Piedmont was a further drive for me as I live in a somewhat rural area now but SO worth it. My instructions for aftercare from Dr. Woods office were clear and thorough. I had NO surprises or discomfort during my recovery. My follow-up with his office was perfect. I couldn't be happier and am thrilled to write this review and hope it helps another patient who is feeling overwhelmed with the choices of surgeons in the ATL area. You won't be disappointed by selecting Dr. Woods. I'm thankful that I did.

Amazing Experience-Highly Recommend Dr. Woods!

For the past 6 or so years I have really struggled with my self confidence & a long list of issues including back problems, bad posture, neck pain, etc. due to my overly large and saggy breasts. Being just 25 years old, a breast reduction surgery was always at the back of my mind but I was too nervous to bite the bullet and do it. My OBJYN recommended Dr. Woods and from the moment I entered his office for my initial consultation, I felt so at ease and comfortable. I was so impressed with Dr. Woods' bedside manner and the friendliness & helpfulness of the entire office staff. I decided to go through with the surgery and had the procedure 2 months later. Now I am at 3 months post op, and I can truly say it was the best decision I have ever made and has been truly life changing. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Woods if you are looking into a breast reduction surgery. I have never been happier.

Tuberous Breast Correction Surgery

32 Years Old, Mild Tuberous - 255cc

Ok! Here we go! Stats: 32 years old 5'5" 145 lbs Pear shaped 34A (but currently measure 32 since lost weight) 11-11.5 cm breast pocket size 255 cc natrelle inspira - aka round gummies I've been contemplating getting a BA since I was 18 years old. Finally this year I pulled the plug and did it! I've always been self conscious about my breasts since they weren't only small, they just looked kind of weird since I had no lower boob roundness. After research I found it's called tuberous (only mild) and also called breast hypoplasia. Dr. Woods has been AMAZING! He was very thorough with the procedure and took the time to email me answers to all of my additional questions or have his nurse practitioner call me with more answers. I also went back for a last try on of sizers closer to the date since I was second guessing myself after reading so many reviews. I had originally picked 240 but was afraid of being too small. But I was also afraid of being too large. I'm very active and my goal was to look slightly larger than I do with my mega padded bra on. The NP spent a whole hour with me helping me decide. I ended up going up to 255 cc. She said that's only about 1 tbsp larger than the 240 and the diameter is 11.25 so it's right in the middle of my pocket size. My procedure was this morning and Dr Woods said it went perfect. My NP says they should look like my wish boobs once they heal and settle. The worst part of the whole day was not being able to drink water and the most painful part was getting the IV put in my hand. But they fixed that by giving me "happy juice" to relax prior to surgery. The anesthesiologist was great, best nap I've had in a long time! I didn't even experience any nausea when woken up and still haven't today. That was the biggest fear for me since this was my first time as an adult to be put under. But all was great! At home now and took a nap. Pain was a 2-3/10 when I left the hospital. Went up to about a 6 but now back down after taking pain pill and muscle relaxer. It feels like I am sore from a really tough chest work out plus an encyclopedia sitting on my chest. Updated on 28 Oct 2017: And forgot to mention we went under the muscle and though the nipple Updated on 28 Oct 2017: Updated on 29 Oct 2017: I'm not going to lie. Yesterday was not fun. There was an intense burning sensation on the left and in the center of my chest. After my check in with my NP, found out that was completely normal and likely bc they had to make my pocket bigger on that side since I started with so little. There was also a "bubble" feeling that didn't hurt but felt crazy weird. She said that's just a bit of swelling fluid and my body will absorb in a few days and suggested I rotate Advil in with my other meds. I slept through most of the night last night and 95% of the burning sensation is gone. Thus far today I have only taken Advil in the morning and just took a muscle relaxer. I think the worst has passed! Might be brave enough to take a peak today! Updated on 30 Oct 2017: I just took off the bra for the first time to look. And holy moly I am SO HAPPY! I think they look perfect and proportional and very natural! Updated on 3 Nov 2017: Feeling very good with my results and feeling very little pain. Haven't even taken any medication since bedtime last night. Happy with my range of motion in my arms too. Updated on 11 Nov 2017: Had my 2 week post op appointment on Thursday and things look good. Both the doc and I? think it’s a very natural size for me and the healing is going well. The incisions around my nipples are quite small! I’m cleared to do light jogging if it feels ok. Still have 2 more weeks of skin tape and compression bras but all of my swelling is gone. I? tried on a bra and I’m officially a 32C at VS. I’m so excited to wear new bras in 2 weeks. I? prob could have chosen slightly larger implants but I’m glad I? didn’t. I’d rather be a little to small and wear a push up than be a little too big. They’ve def dropped a little and I? think they’re looking more perfect every day! I’ll go back to the doc in about 3 months for a final check after they’ve had the time to really settle in. So happy with my results and love Dr. Woods and his whole team. He’s definitely a wizard. Updated on 27 Nov 2017: It been almost 4.5 weeks and my scars are healing nicely. I think in a couple of months thy won’t even be visible. Loving my new ladies! They feel so naturally fitting on me. Excited for them to soften up! Updated on 27 Nov 2017: Just realized I never posted my pre-pic! Such a massive improvement!!! Updated on 20 Sep 2018: It’s been almost 11 months post boobs and I am so happy that I took the leap. I had a PM question on an update and status on how they look. Reminder that I did 255cc and my circumference right below my breasts is 29.5. Nipples are still pointy/poking out but boobs feel and look very natural. Extremely happy with my results! Glad I opted to stay slightly small instead of too big.

B

My breasts were a small B and they were drooping. Never had any children so not sure why my breasts sagged. I'm 5'7" and 140 lbs. I have a slender torso and rib cage and I really wanted a natural look so I thought I should go with 295 cc's. Thank goodness I talked to a few friends that have implants and they advised me to go bigger. Finally I decided to go with 345cc's. I couldn't be happier!!! My surgeon was top notch! Dr. Woods took so much time and care with me during my initial consultation. He explained everything from start to finish in a way that I could understand it easily. I even came back for another consultation after second-guessing my implant size. He was just as patient and kind with me the second time around. His kindness, compassion and patience were just a few of the many reasons why I decided to use him. Not to mention he is a Princeton graduate and the head of plastic surgery at Piedmont Hospital. His credentials coupled with his bed side manner made him the obvious choice. My results look very natural and they are the perfect size for my body. Updated on 14 Aug 2017: 345cc

Breast Reduction & Lift - Atlanta, GA

I was approved for breast reduction 25 years ago and chickened out! I am so glad I went ahead with it this time. Best thing I've ever done for myself! I was always very heavy for my frame and very miserable. I am thrilled with my results and outcome! Went from a Double D+ to a small C cup. Great!
