Dr. George Dreszer is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born in Colombia and raised in Texas, he is a world traveller with an international client base.
Founder of Vanguard Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Dreszer is known for his mommy makeover procedures and as a skilled DIEP flap breast reconstruction surgeon, using healthy tissue, skin, and fat from the lower abdomen to restore what mastectomy patients have lost.
Dr. Dreszer studied at Harvard Extension School and the University of Tel Aviv before earning his masters degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After graduating, he attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Dreszer then headed to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City for an internship in general surgery. This was followed by a residency in general surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where he was Chief Resident. He completed another residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now known as Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), and a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis, where he again became Chief Resident.
Dr. Dreszer is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the Committee of Interns and Residents.
His work has been published in numerous medical journals and he has won multiple awards, including the James Barrett Brown Award (in 2011 and 2012) and the Leonard R. Rubin Award in 2012.
Passionate about giving back to the community, Dr. Dreszer offers up his time and experience for frequent pro bono work and mission trips. Dr. Deszer is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows him to connect with his patients and provide truly individualized care.
He has traveled to Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru on surgical missions to assist with cleft lips and palates, burn surgery, congenital anomalies, and pediatric plastic surgery. He also does volunteer work with a variety of charities, including assisting the homeless via the Outreach Van Project, and acting as a translator for Spanish-speaking university students.
