In my practice, I wait 3 months after nearsighted LASIK to let the eyes heal and settle down before considering an enhancement. Depending on the total residual prescription at that time (i.e., plano-0.25 or -0.50-0.25), as well your satisfaction and other test results I would make a recommendation for or against enhancement. We wait because we see improvement in many over that time. I recommend patience, keeping your appointments, and not getting too hung up on numbers. For example, the 0.25 in and of itself is a trivial amount of astigmatism. The fact that you don't think your vision is very sharp is NOT trivial and the most important measure of success. The good news is that if you don't improve enhancements are safe if you do need one.

I am 35 years age have gone thru Intralase 6 weeks back. My Power before surgery is -2.0 L Spherical and -2.5 R Spherical my residual power is showing -.25 Cylindrical in right eye and -.5 cylindrical in left eye after lasik. Vision I snot very sharp as it used to be with my spects before surgery. Will my residual cylindrical power go away or do I have to go for enhancement. WHat are the chances to improve? Is it safe to for enhancement?

Your correction is too large for LASIK or PRK. Your best option is likely an ICL, which can correct considerably more myopia than LASIK

According to your limited records, you had LASEK (basically the same as PRK) with can take longer to completely heal. I recommend aggressively treating the dry eye with the drops you're using, Omega 3 oral supplementation (I prefer high dose i.e., 4 grams/day), and avoidance of drying activities such as fans over beds, long computer use without breaks and the like. Restasis or punctal plugs may also help. The best healer in the situations if often time.

Surgery in Korea 7.5 months ago. Requested LASIK (records from doctor stateLASEK with mitomycin, No-Touch (OU) with Amaris laser. Why?). Surgeon says the reason for blurry vision and trouble foucsing (sometimes causes headaches) is dry eyes. I'm using 3 eye drops (pic) that help improve vision for a short time, especially while the drop is still on my eye. Surgeon does not recommend enhancement nor glasses (says I'm expecting magic). With only seeing the data- what should I do?

I'd need to see the results of your left eye measurements to know for sure, but you may benefit from an enhancement. I perform these not before 3 months and when the vision has completely stabilized. Your left preop prescription was fairly large, and this does increase the chance of needing enhancement by a small margin. Slight devistions from intended results are generally caused by slight variability in tissue response to the laser rather than measurement errors.

I've done wavefront lasik 4 months ago and my left eye is still less clear and see things darker than my right eye. My right eye is 6/6. My initial power was L(500 degrees, astig 250) R(650 degrees, astig 100). The doctor said it could be due to my left eye being naturally weaker and high astig. However, could it be a mistake caused by undercorrection due to inaccuracy in visual acuity test?

I don't recommend LASIK for you. Your best procedure would be an ICL (implantable contact lens) or a refractive lens exchange, depending on your age.&nbsp;

My cornea thickness is 520 microns. My left eye has -13 and right eye has -15. My doctors said that even if I have LASIK,I'll still have about -6 on both eyes. Is it okay? Is it possible to reduce further? Thanl you in advance.

No LASIK will not help the eye turning in, termed esotropia. The good news is that strabismus surgery could help your ocular alignment

My left eye is pointing inward and when i close or block my right eye it becomes normal. i can control it whenever i want but when i do it the right eye is the that is inward now. when i wear glasses the left eye does not correct. my left eye which is lazy has a better vision than the right eye

Assuming the rest of your exam is suitable, I would recommend Femto LASIK. PRK would be a second option

You are probably fine, especially if your vision hasn't changed. If there is any doubt, or if you have persistent watering, eye redness, eye pain or vision changed you should be checked immediately.&nbsp;

I had my Lasik 3 weeks ago and I accidentally hit my face with a cord and my left eye got watery. Should I worry?

In my practice, assuming you were nearsighted before your LASIK (meaning you are under corrected), I would offer you an enhancement at three months. Thankfully these enhancements are rare with advanced LASIK.

I had lasik done three months ago. I still have -.75 prescription in my left eye. Is it safe to get the enhancement done?

Assuming your other measurements are within limits, you should be an ideal LASIK candidate. It's also a good time to do LASIK since at your age you will save more $ on CTLs, and you avoid the cumulative risk of CTLs for more years.&nbsp;
