I have been bothered by the tear trough area for awhile, as it makes me look tired, and/or old and tired, neither desirable. Given the fact that it is an area of the face that is not too forgiving, I decided to consult with Dr Flaherty as he is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon. Office staff was professional. The Dr. was pleasant. He asked what bothered me, and I asked for his opinion. No hard sell to undergo other procedures other than what I as there for. I thought the filler was a bit expensive, but, his technique was excellent, and I guess, in the end, that is what you are paying for. No bruising, and while not "perfect" definitely an improvement, and if I could afford "tweaking" I don't doubt it would get to near perfect. Now, my fingers are crossed that it lasts awhile.
When I went for the procedure I reviewed the areas that I wanted to address they told me it would take two more “paddles” or whatever they are called than I had originally been told. They asked me if I wanted to do this and I said yes but they did not tell me it would be an additional $1300 or moreThis reviewer received a gift card from RealSelf in exchange for their review.
Excellent experience with Dr. Flaharty and his staff. They are not family but you wouldn’t know it... they are caring & kind and interested in how I was doing. I had a mid-face and neck lift and Co2 laser treatment. I’m very pleased with my experience and would strongly recommend Dr. Flaharty to anyone who is considering surgery.Dr.Flaharty is truly an artist!
I went to Azul Spa in Ft Myers, FL. I’ve received dermal fillers here & an under eye chemical peel in the past which had amazing results. My last appointment with Dr. Flanerty ended up with him suggesting fillers, Dysport & Halo plus for my face instead of an upper eye lift for which my original appointment was for. My Halo procedure was on Dec 5, 2018. Dr. Flaherty is extremely talented & professional as is his staff. I was very happy to hear I did not need an eye lift. Emily did the procedure & it was joined with BBL. They were running a special. She did the BBL first and then applied numbing cream to my face for an hour prior to Halo. Emily was informative, kept my expectations of the procedure realistic & very professional. I see Dr. Flaherty in two days to review results. He will take pictures and compare them with pics prior to Halo. I had a concern about the integrity of the dermal filler after receiving halo about 2 1/2 weeks later. I can still see brown spots for which BBL & Halo are meant to diminish. These may be slightly lighter after the procedure, but I can till see them. Maybe an additional treatment is needed for the brown spots. Halo is supposed to achieve overall brightening and potential collagen production post three months and on of procedure. I posted photos taken on day 2, 3, 6, and 9. I will offer an update in about a month.
Very impressed with Dr. Flaharty, his staff, and the staff at St. Mark’s surgery center. I originally went to see Dr. Flaharty for a fat transfer. He said I really didn’t need a fat transfer and suggested CO2 Laser. I had the CO2 Laser completed and am very happy with the results. The follow up care has been excellent.
I had eyelid surgery in my early 40’s I’ve never done anything to my face, so obviously you want perfection. Prayers answered. I had no pain, little swelling ( everyone will be different I’m sure) but my experience was wonderful. Clean straight stitches that are almost invisible. Caring and professional. I’m going back this year for a neck lift, I can only hope for the same great results.
Dr Flaharty treats the face like a work of art. He takes his time, has terrific ideas, honest opinion to what should be done and to what extream. I'm happy with the outcome every time. Also the handsome doctor always greets you with a smile and a great looking suit
Dr. Flaharty did a great job on my upper eyelids. I look incredibly refreshed but not shocked and surprised. I never felt rushed, he takes the time to answer all your questions and explain the procedure.
I had a face lift -- an eye brow lift, a chin/nexk procedure and a cheek lift. You cannot see my scars, I get constant compliments about looking younger, looking healthier, or about how lovely my skin is. No one thinks of a face lift, so I look like myself. Dr. Flaherty is an artist as well as a terrific surgeon. He takes his time with you. He really cares, as does his staff. It would be worth your while to fly to Florida for the surgery by Dr. Flaherty.
I noticed my face started looking tired. But I had hardly any wrinkles. I decided to see Dr Flaharty and he was honest about not needing Botox on certain area but suggested filler in my cheeks. Well the results are wonderful!!! I love the way my cheeks look now. I am told I look very refreshed and my skin looks soft as well. I highly recommend Dr. Flaharty
Your photographs show mild wrinkling and redundancy of the lower eyelid skin. There are several good options to treat these wrinkles. A pinch technique is a delicate surgical technique where a small amount of skin is trimmed out right under the lower eyelid lashes. The incision is hidden in the natural crease under the eyelashes and this tightens the envelope of skin reducing the wrinkles. A second option is a trichloroacetic acid peel (TCA peel) which is a medium depth chemical peel that can be used to tighten the skin under the eyes. The last option is an ablative laser peel under the eyes. Ablative lasers (CO2 and erbium lasers) will remove the surface of the skin and tighten the deeper layers reducing the wrinkles and redundancy. The TCA peel and ablative laser peel require a week of downtime as you will be applying ointment to the treated skin until the skin heals which is generally one week. The skin can be pink for several weeks to months but can be disguised with make-up. The pinch technique has less downtime but does requires some icing for a few days and ointment at bedtime for one week. The stitches are removed at one week.
You are a great candidate for facial fillers! Your photograph shows volume loss in the midface and prominence of the nasolabial fold. Augmenting the volume in central and lateral cheek will lift and fill the cheek while simultaneously reducing the prominence of the nasolabial fold. This is an instant and magical correction which produces dramatic and long lasting results. Consulting with a physician experienced in facial fillers and the liquid facelift would be a great way to learn more about this procedure. This is one of our most frequent and most satisfying office procedures and really led to the origins of the term "liquid facelift".
For the small contour irregularities in your photographs fillers are by far the best option. Fillers are an easy, non-surgical options that is adjustable and reversible and perfect to address these small contour changes that occur with age. Fat grafting is much less predictable and forgiving and therefore not a practical way to address these changes. Consulting with a physician experienced in facial fillers is the best way to learn more about this option.
Your photographs demonstrate mild to moderate laxity of the lower face and neck with prominent nasolabial folds. A lower face and neck lift is the best way to correct the sagging and laxity of the lower face and neck and this will also improve the nasolabial fold. That said, a lower face and neck lift will not fully correct the nasolabial fold and many patients will add filler to further improve the nasolabial fold even after surgery. So if it's the nasolabial fold that concerns you perhaps starting with a filler to soften the nasolabial fold would be a good idea. If this does the trick you may be able to delay the lower face and neck lift procedure to a future date.
Your photographs demonstrate both laxity of the neck and wrinkling of the skin. A surgical neck lift is the best way to rejuvenate this area as it will tighten and reshape the neck while simultaneously reducing the visibility of the wrinkles. Non-surgical treatments including topical skin preparations and radiofrequency with microneedling can improve the texture of the skin but will not improve the laxity as much as a lift so this would result in a more partial improvement. My recommendation is for you to consult with a surgeon experienced in lower face and neck lift surgery to learn more about this option.
