Stay away from this man if you are looking for a cosmetic rhinoplasty! Really should be rated “0 stars”. In the Fall of 2019 Dr. Stupak ruined my nose. I should have been suspicious when I had two consults with him and his recommendations/plans were different each time, however he spent quite a bit of time with me, which initially put me at ease. I was concerned about the appearance of my nose after the rhinoplasty (nostrils disproportionate, a bump on my tip) but was told to give it time. Approximately 1 month following the surgery, another doctor told me I needed to make an appointment with Dr. Stupak immediately as a piece of my cartilage was protruding from my nose and at risk for perforation. I contacted Dr. Stupak’s office and despite this concern they were unphased and I was not scheduled immediately. I ended up missing the appointment as I live far from his Westport office and was stuck in traffic. Dr. Stupak’s office was not accommodating with regard to me working and living an hour away… again… despite this potentially serious situation. Dr. Stupak had even given me his cell phone number prior to surgery and told me to let him know how I was doing and to reach out with questions. When I texted him with concerns about my nose and the scheduling issues he coldly told me his personal cell was not for appointments (no problem taking my money but a problem taking my phone call). I truly believe that he knew he screwed up my nose and didn’t want to take responsibility. I ended up having a revision rhinoplasty a year later by a wonderful doctor in New York. She was horrified at Dr. Stupak’s work and told me that he used a very outdated technique (I believe it was a diamond technique… I could be wrong) and that he just cut cartilage and made a mess. Dr. Stupak’s horrendous work caused me mental anguish, missed time from work, low self esteem, financial hardship and distrust of doctors. I should have been refunded 100% but surgeons like Dr. Stupak are able to get away with snatching peoples money and not offering refunds or losing lawsuits as cosmetic results are “subjective”.
