21- Bad Car Accident - Aurora, CO

2 years ago I was in a really bad car accident, and I walked away with some unsightly facial scarring. My nose was completely different, and appeared way bigger. I was so afraid that it would not be able to be fixed. My mom was looking up surgeons for plastics just to compare and she picked Dr. Winkler after reading about him. When I met with him he made me feel much better immediately. He was very reassuring and confident that he could improve the look of the scar and my nose altogether. Initially in the ER when they stitched my nose up, they left glass and debris inside, so it looked and felt super crazy. He got me in almost right away and reopened the sutures, cleaned it up, and stitched it back together. This in itself made it look from about a 0 to a 4. Just recently, I went in for another surgery to narrow the nasal bridge because it was huge after the accident, and for scar revision. It took a while to get the surgery approved through my insurance, but even though they denied it once, Dr. Winkler tried again and submitted an appeal & it was finally approved. I have just gotten the nose cast taken off and I am extremely pleased with the results. It isn't even completely healed yet and it looks sooo much better and I breathe easier! I'm excited and I'm so glad that I worked with Dr. Winkler during this whole process. He is extremely kind, responsive, personable, helpful, comforting, and honest. I definitely recommend him. He goes above & beyond. **I'm not positive about the cost just yet, I haven't received billing.**

I Can Breathe Again! - Lone Tree, CO

This procedure was a prerequisite for a sleep study due to a crushed nasal passage. 4 hr surgery, felt like 5 minutes for me. Having the procedure at a clinic vs the hospital also helped my nerves a bit. The next two weeks were painful but the results are perfect. There is absolutely no scarring and best of all I can breathe like I could when I was a kid.

K. Daciek - Park Meadows, CO

Probably like many others - I just didn't like what i saw in the mirror. My eyes were puffy and baggy and did not match the positive feelings I have about my inner and outer self. Dr. Winkler was referred to me by some of my family members so this boosted my confidence immediately, and I made an appointment. He was thorough and patient in explaining to me the pre and post operative details. The surgery went great and the staff at the hospital were outstanding. While it wasn't instant beauty waiting for the post surgery symptoms to go away it was definitely worth the wait! He made sure I saw him several times over a course of the recovery to be sure all was progressing correctly. Needless to say, I get a lot of compliments about my eyes, which is absolutely a compliment to Dr. Winkler!

Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty Success in Denver, CO

I came to see Dr. Winkler with problems concerning a deviated septum and slightly crooked nose from a fracture. I can't describe how compassionate and communicative he is concerning his expertise and his patient knowledge. He not only helped correct my deviated septum and nose asymmetry, BUT also removed a bone spur that was causing me terrible headaches. I went in blindly hoping to solve one problem and behold--I left solving three! I have been to a few ENT/cosmetic doctors in Denver all prescribing to the idea that my deviated septum needed major revisions, and was later forwarded Winkler’s information by a close friend. Yes, at first, I wasn’t sure because some of the other doctors didn’t “get it” quickly (perhaps because most of the doctors I encountered were much older!) Still, I took a shot and set the appointment with Winkler and later was relived to discover a youthful doctor who I was able to relate to, while maintaining a professionalism and understanding of facial cosmetics. When your doctor offers to fix a problem before the patient even has a chance to express the problem, that is an indication that they are nearing “skilled” status, and also indicates that you your doctor knows what looks good and what doesn’t. Winkler genuinely cared about my situation and was very diligent while explaining the procedure. And yes, I was worried about the process (being that this was my first surgery), but he was very reassuring and sped things along quickly. I very concerned after reading some of the negative reviews about other bad procedures and was VERY thanful (lucky) that I landed in the hands of one of the BEST doctors. It has only been a week post op; however, I'm very ecstatic about the results--fingers crossed! I’m also very surprised I don’t have much swelling besides the tip of my nose, but was also pretty good about staying healthy after surgery (vitamins, enzymes, rest, etc). But really, I barely had any bruising before I started my vitamin regimen (although the following day after surgery is a little painful, I’m not going to lie!) Anyway, thanks Dr. Winkler for not only improving my confidence, but also improving my health! A great word to describe Winkler-- “gifted!”

Revisional Surgery After Mohs Removal of Skin Cancer - Lone Tree, CO

Dr. Winkler has changed my life. You ask how? In a nut shell he has restored my self confidence after a “Large Basal Cell Cancer” was removed from the very center of my nose. I had Mohs surgical removal and then a closure done in 2010. He straightened the bridge of my nose and has improved scaring dramatically.

Septo/Rhinoplasty with Turbinate Reduction - Aurora, CO

I had a septo/rhinoplasty with a turbinate reduction 6 weeks ago. I had a deviated septum, nasal valve collapse and enlarged turbinates which disabled me to breathe thru my nose. After years of treating it like allergies, i finally decided to go to an ENT specialist to get a second opinion on what was actually going on. Finally, I was diagnosed properly and was suggested to have surgery to fix my deviated septum, turbinate reduction and the nasal valve collapse. I had an open rhinoplasty with extensive grafting to prevent the collapse and support my native nasal cartilages . Along with that I decided to get my nasal hump reduced and my surgeon suggest a slight deprojection of my nose since it was disproportionately long for my face. This whole process has been a crazy roller coaster for me. The recovery was hard especially the first 4 days post-op; then once the cast was removed it was even worse for me. My nose was huge, swollen and lacked definition. No matter how much I had prepared myself for this, apparently it wasn't enough! I hated looking at myself in the mirror (especially the front). I LOVED my profile though! it looked beautiful without the nasal hump! Throughout the weeks everyday was different, one day my nose seemed crooked the next day a dent would form, etc. Till this day (6 weeks later) I have days where my nose looks more swollen than the day before. I am trying to hang in there and be patient (like my doc keeps on telling me) but it has been very hard! Overall, for now i am VERY happy with my decision to get this done. There is NO price i can put on being able to breath thru my nose! :-) it feels amazing!!! Also my sense of smell has increased x100! I still think there is still quite a bit of swelling in my tip area due to the amount of grafting and maneuvers that were performed. But just to give you an idea i attached a before and after pic of my profile view. Updated on 12 Nov 2015: After a few months my nose was still huge even after the swelling had gone down and my breathing worsened than it was before surgery. Was left with A bunch of scar tissue, pollybeak deformity, inverted V and hanging columella. Had a revision done 5yeras later by a diff doctor and love the results now! MY UPPER LIP SCAR's SURGERY - Aurora, CO

Four years ago I burned my upper lip by accident. I went to get a series of steroids shots, but the scar reappeared. I have consulted with many surgeons, until I was lucky to have found Dr. Andrew Winkler, in AURORA, CO. As today, 23 April2014, the surgery is not scheduled yet. I have to say that I am very worried and apprehensive about the outcome of it, particularly for the fact that I could end up uneven lip tissue's healing, a lopsided lip etc.
