My 30 years experience in dermatology care and research has shown me that the negative effects of skin issues extend beyond what is visible. Their impact is often invisible - affecting self esteem, self perception and emotions. Guidance in addressing those issues can start the journey of improvement.

Absolutely amazing. Very professional, knowledgable and approachable. Answers any questions you have before after and during the treatment. Hannah fully explains the procedure so you know what to expect and continues to ensure you are ok during the session. She is very through with after care so you know what to do when you get home.
I have been a customer at The Healthy Image Center for about 3 years now. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They greet you with a smile and are happy to answer any questions you may have. My main reason for going to The Healthy Image Center is hair removal but I have also had Botox and chemical peels. Hannah was very friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable during my laser...
Thank you Dr Tan, and Healthy Image staff so much for sharing your talents with me. What an all around positive experience!! I am so pleased with the results of my Botox and lip filler! I look/feel STUNNING XXOO
Everyone was super friendly and welcoming which was nice for a first timer. The staff made me very comfortable and were very informative. They explained what was going to happen and it didn’t take very long which was a bonus. The Dr. was awesome. I can’t wait to go back!!!
A: The structures you are referring to in the image are normal oil (sebaceous) glands of the skin. They can be more visible at areas of thin skin such as eyelid or lip regions. Tretinoin is not likely to help as there is no blockage of their pores. If troublesome, light cautery may be helpful.
Hope this is useful to you.
A: I would recommend volume correction using fillers - they can address your concerns and provide rapid improvement.
An expert injector can provide filler enhancment by:
1) strategic placement to areas of tissue shrinkage contributing to your areas of concern and
2)technical and safety optimization (eg. knowledge of relevant anatomy, use of cannulas and prior evaluation of regional blood vessels using skin ultrasound)
Seek a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with experience to optimize your outcomes.
Hope this helps!
A: The clench muscles of the face (masseters have their greatest bulk at the side of the cheeks just above the jawline. If you clench, you will feel this muscle tighten and you can follow it's course from the angle of the jaw up towards your cheekbone.
Botox injections for TMJ pain should be done at the third of that muscle which is lower on the cheek and toward the angle of the jaw. That location is well away from the smile muscles of the face - zygomaticus and risorius. If injected toward the upper third, there is a risk of affecting zygomaticus. I suspect that may have been the case in your situation.
Given the amounts injected, full recovery of your smile is expected at 3-4 mths.
I typically don't need to inject temporalis to achieve TMJ pain relief.
A: Dermatologists learn about the management of hyperhidrosis during their training. Currently, there are multiple options available including lotions/gels, injectables and oral medications. You may want to consider calling the office of local dermatologists in your area to determine who can help in a convenient location to you.
A: Botox in the upper face is a reliable was to weaken over used facial expression muscles to provide a more youthful and relaxed (ie less stressed and tired) appearance. While Botox costs can vary (average CDN$10/unit) - an essential element is the expertise/experience of the injector. For individual patients, the size and strength of muscles to be treated must be considered to provide the desired effect. In the frown line area for example, the frown muscles can be much larger and stronger in men than women - requiring larger doses (25-35 units). The size of foreheads also vary between individuals - so this needs to be considered along with strength of underlying muscles (typically 10-20 units). Over-treatment of this area can lead brow droop or heaviness in those who have lower brows to begin with. Often, I recommend a Botox lid elevation treatment to avoid this issue (20 units). Crows feet lines can improve with standard treatments of 20 units and we often add 10 units below the lower lid to provide more curvature to the lid lower margin.
