Dr. Shehla Ebrahim is one of those people who deserve so much more than a thank you can say. She performed a scar excision on me and she didn’t just do it skillfully. She did it with her whole heart. From my very first interaction with her (virtual consult), I could tell that this was not just a job to her. This is her calling and purpose. This clinic is her passion project. And so despite the pandemic, I was happy to travel from Richmond all the way to North Van for every appointment. After a botched thread lift and RF procedure at another clinic resulting in an unsightly bump (buckled thread) and indented scar, I was desperate for help. I had consulted with other clinics, but Dr. Shehla was the only person who truly took the time to listen to my story, ask questions, and map out a game plan. This was a complex scar and the buckled thread underneath made things even more complicated. Throughout the process, Dr. Shehla was gentle, reassuring, and quick. I was booked to have my scar excision only two days after my virtual consult. She knew how much the scar was affecting me and made room for me in her busy schedule. The procedure itself was relatively painless (3/10). They provided a local anesthetic and checked in constantly to make sure I was doing okay. In the end, Dr. Shehla did not just treat a physical scar. After standing up for me to the other clinic, reassuring me, listening, and most importantly, treating the scar, I feel that I have emotionally healed from the traumatizing experience. Coming from a nursing student, Dr. Shehla is exactly the type of professional that I aspire to be. Brilliant, passionate, and empathetic with a strong moral compass and sense of justice. Did I mention that she charged much less than what she should have? Patients come before profit for this doctor. Thank you for everything, Dr. Shehla.

I visited Afterglow, for the first time today. My experience was EXCELLENT. I had Dr Mona and Tara - they both explained treatments and future regimes in a way that no other clinic has done with me. I would 10/10 recommend this clinic!

I had coolsculpting with Tara and it was great! She is so kind and thoughtful and really wants the best for her patients. She explained everything thoroughly and takes the time to consider your goals, and works with you to achieve those. Looking forward to more treatments with her - she’s so lovely!

I have seen many people over the years for Botox and filler. Dr. Ebrahim is by far the best. I switched to her after experiencing a post procedure eye droop from botox with my old physician. I was told this occurred because I have difficult “number 11’s” (frown lines) and the provider used a large amount of product in an attempt to accommodate this. Dr. Ebrahim is the first person to ever be able to get my “11’s” no complications whatsoever. She also recommended under eye filler which has been face changing. So glad I found her!

I went to Afterglow and had my treatment with Tara. This was booked after I visited their clinic to buy products. Tara helped me select the right products for me and suggested the Jessner Peel. The Skinceutical products have worked great and the peel was everything she clearly described. Tara was very informative, friendly and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. I have already recommend Tara and Afterglow to my friends.

Dr. Ebrahim worked with me to determine the right treatment approach to meet my goals. She understood that I wanted to soften my lines without looking "frozen" and she accomplished just that. She takes the time to talk to her patients and then adjusts her treatment plan. Very clean and professional office with great, friendly staff.

Doctor Ebrahim performed my first lip filler procedure. I had some concerns about it at first, and she told me that I was not ready to do the procedure. She was more concerned that I should be ready for it, when she could have easily convinced me to do it to make money. I called back the next day and decided to go for it. She welcomed me in and did a quick and painless job. I naturally have a crooked smile so the filler made it look even more crooked. She fixed it for no charge by putting a bit more on the one side. To be honest I waited a few days to write this, because it looked really goofy at first but I wanted to give it a fair shot. The swelling has gone down and I’m happy with my results. I would return to her again.
