Richard Fitzpatrick, MD (in memoriam)

This is really overdue but this lovely man fixed what Faces Plus/Dr. Steven Cohen did to me, and restored my faith in the professionalism of the cosmetic laser and surgery field. I will always remember his kindness, professionalism, and mastery of the laser field. His corrective treatments (there were multiple) reduced the damage inflicted at Faces Plus, dramatically.

I love Dr. Fitzpatrick so very much, he is a wonderful person. He has done amazing work on me and most of my friends. I have done so many lasers with this man. They all have turned out amazing. If you are going to do a laser, then I would make sure to do your research and go with someone who knows what they are doing. Dr. Fitzpatrick is the absolute best. I believer Dr. Geoff was trained by him but I'm not 100% sure. Right now Dr. Fitzpatrick is having health issues. I had a Fraxel Re:pair Laser procedure done in August by Dr. Fitzpatrick, on my face, neck and chest - and I am thrilled with the results! My girlfriend and I had it done together on the same day, which made it fun. Dr. Fitzpatrick came highly recommended, and if I was going to have something done to my face I wanted the best doctor. I learned that he is recognized around the world for his work with lasers. I was pleasantly surprised when I met him and found out what a down to earth person he is -- that was really refreshing. Everyone in his office is terrific — wonderful nurses and staff. A special thanks to Carrie, Cindy and Lynn, who put the icing on the cake. I had a strip hair transplant on Feb 14, 2013. Dr. Fitzpatrick and his team of technicians did a wonderful job. Carrie his assistant, and Phyllis my nurse, were exceptional every step of the way. The hair has grown in wonderfully. I have my front hair line back, no receeding hair line. It was absolutely worth it! I had been wanting to do it for a long time, but was concerned that it might not work. I wish I had done it sooner. I am very happy with the new hair and recommend this team to every one! After hours of research on the internet, I found Dr. Fitzpatrick, whose credentials were so impressive that I stopped my search and made an appointment. After disappointing results with injectables at two downtown medical spas, I knew that I would have to explore laser resurfacing. Dr. Fitzpatrick's staff was wonderful. Dr. Fitzpatrick provided so much info that no question remained unanswered. The procedure was painless. However, for approximately three weeks afterwards I was so ugly, an ugliness that no makeup could cover. My face has completely healed and 20 years have been erased.

About 2 years ago I went to Dr. F, looking for treatment to get rid of freckles, sun spots, pigmentation and overall skin tone and texture. He suggested a Mini Fraxel Repair, at low settings, everything went smooth, my skin improved 90% and still is looking great!! I would do it again in a minute, but my skin is still looking great. First of all, I am such a chicken when it comes to surgeries, needles, and other things that cut your skin, make you bleed, or artificial bodies and enhancements that can be implanted into your body, so I was always looking for alternatives. Second. It does work if you let the doctor work the magic! I mean it ladies - no whining that it hurts. Beauty is pain! If you want to look great, you have to suffer a little (at least the amount of pain that is, believe me, less than post surgery.) I’ve always asked for MAX and aggressive treatments as a result, I do look 10-12 years younger, plus my accidents’ scars (that unfortunately all were landing on my face) practically gone.

I had the Fraxel Dual and Alexandrite laser about a week ago and look great. I had mild melasma on my upper lip, small patches around the eyes and dozens of scattered brown spots. It's all gone and smooth and I love my result. I only treated specific areas and not the full face but I'm shocked to read other reviews stating it was painful. My treatment wasn't at all. I had numbing cream on for about an hour and the nurse blew cold air on me the same time the laser was working. I went to an amazing doctor and I'm told he is the best. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed, as I was very nervous to do anything to my face. My pigmented areas were so bothersome to me and now they're gone :)

I just had Fraxel Repair done on 6/7. I also had two other lasers, V beam and Gentle YAG, done at the same time on the same area to treat a red birthmark on most of the right side of my face. I was pretty swollen (I was bleeding some and oozing too) right after and the day after the surgery, however, my swelling seems to be going down by the hour and seems like it will be mostly gone in two days. I am at the itching stage now. I would tell anyone having this done that you MUST get all of the following in order to avoid pain: Valium, Demerol and nerve blockers. My pain was MAYBE a 2 on a 1-10 scale. Dr. F did the Fraxel last, it was strange to actually sort of feel the skin coming off but not realy feel any pain from it. Sorry to be so graphic ;-) there has been no pain at all following the procedure. I will keep you all posted on my progress. I'm hoping I can come back change my answer to worth it and excellent once its all healed. For now I have to say undecided. Updated on 28 Jan 2011: so its been 7months since my fraxel. I had apparently had a pretty aggressive treatment, I had thought it was milder considering what I had seen on this site. I have to say I am pleased with the results.my skin is much much smoother and even toned. I would definitely recommend fraxel. That being said I can tell based on my experience and what seems to be wildly varied experiences on this site that an individuals skin type, tone, thinkness, ect are what seem to determine the results. i can also not stress enough of putting yuor face in the hands of the right dr. do not get your laser treatment done at your local spa.

I had my Fraxel Re:pair Co2 laser on 11/21. I had absolutely no pain during the procedure and after. I was given Valium and Demerol before and nerve blocks. The 1st 72 hours were the most horrifying experience. My face swelled up on day 3 to the point I had to call the doctor cause I thought I was having an allergic reaction. I am on day 8 and I can't believe how great my skin looks. I had acne scars on my cheeks and dark circles under my eyes. I am only 34 years old but my skin was always bothering me. Best thing I ever did for myself. I am going for my 2nd post opt on Monday. I choose an amazing doctor. He is known as the Laser King and he wrote part of the protocol for this machine. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DON'T TRY TO SAVE/CUT CORNERS WHEN HAVING THIS SORT OF PROCEDURE DONE. I have had to take no pain medication. I have been religiously doing my vinegar soaks every 2 hours and drinking plenty of water. I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. Updated on Nov 29, 2008: AMAZING.  I have had no pain whatsoever!  My cosmetic dermatolgist is known as the Laser King.  Please if you are going to do this procedure do your research!  I had the repair done 11/21.  I did my whole face and my upper and lower eyelids.  I am of Middle Eastern descent so I had dark circles under my eyes.  I had really bad acne scars on my cheeks.  The worst day was day 3.  My face was so swollen that I had to call the doctor.  He said it was normal.  I have been in the house for 8 days.  I am going to my 2nd post opt on Monday. I did my vinegar soaks every 2 hours.  I have had no pain or discomfort at all.  I am amazed at the results.  I am 35 years old but my skin looks unbelievable.  Everyone says how refreshed I look.  My scars are so smooth and my eyes are tight and bright.  I can't believe the work of this doctor.  He has written the protocol for the machine and submitted it to FDA.  He is truly the best doctor.  Please do your homework before you have this done.  I have no hper or hypo pigmentation.  I am still red but that will subside within a couple weeks plus the help of makeup.  I would do this over again in a heartbeat!  I giggled through my surgery.  I didn't even know he had started.  I can't wait to buy new makeup!!!! Updated on Feb 18, 2009: Sorry I have not written in awhile there was a death in my family to the wise guy who wrote the comment "I must have worked for the doctor". Anyway- {edited - provider information is located above the review} is the doctor I chose and have had fantastic results. My 92 year old grandmother noticed the difference in my skin. I have gotten so many complements in the past few months. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. It's been almost 3 months and my skin is looking great.
