It's only a week old... the pigment will likely fade a bit if it's just that shading that bothers you.That said, if you really want the shading much  lighter, laser could do this.  An advantage of laser is we can just treat the parts that you want removed/ lightened.Most commonly I'm removing a whole tattoo.  But fine-tuning can also be done!

This tattoo was my 4th and done with a lot of thought and research put in to it....but at the end of the day it's not what I originally had in mind. First of all, it's larger then I originally wanted and the shading outside of the outline is darker and wider then I had hoped for. This tattoo is now a week old and still peeling. What can I do? Is there anyway to lighten up the shading outside of the turtle? Uhhh help!

The best result for loose skin with etched in lines is generally going to be a combination of treatments.  Some resufacing treatments along with strategically placed fillers will give a nice, natural, more feminine appearance.  Resurfacing with laser, peels or microneedling  will generally improve the fine lines and brighten the skin.Without seeing your midface, it's hard to say how I would proceed with filer.  But just in the perioral area, it appears that revolumization of the chin, lips and possibly nasolabial fold would help.  Generally though, I revolumize the midface first if necessary. Often that will give a nice lift of the jowls and lessening of the nasolabial folds, without directly treating that area, for a younger more natural look.Ultherapy or other skin tightening devices might help as well, but I would start with some filler and resurfacing.

I'm sure Restylane SubQ would also give a nice result.I prefer Voluma on the chin and the cheeks because the data suggests it lasts the longest of the hyaluronic acid fillers.  It also seems to give the most volume and lift and gives a very natural appearing restoration of facial proportions.

I have a receding chin, and i'm debating on which filler to choose. Which one gives a fuller effect and lasts longer?

I agree with Dr. Taylor completely.  In fairer skin types, IPL is the gold standard, a "slam dunk" for removal of brown spots effectively and safely.  Of course with continued sun exposure, the brown spots can return.  In fairer skin types, I generally use a few monthly sessions of IPL to clear brown spots, and encourage mineral type sunscreen daily and topical hydroquinone for maintenance.In Asian skin and darker, there is a significant risk of depigmentation (leaving a white spot or even a scar) with IPL.  In the past, this was a significant problem.  In the past we did not have much else to offer these patients to improve brown spots besides topical treatments, peels and fractionated lasers, which can help but the results are often not dramatic.Now with PicoSure laser, we can treat brown spots and fine lines/wrinkles safely and effectively in Asian skin and darker.  The results can be quite dramatic after a series of treatments, each of which generally have

I got my freckles removed once before. The dr used the same laser as "tattoo removal" it worked fine, the freckles were gone but I didn't like how it was healing (discolored/Asian skin) instead of dark spots, there were white spots. A year or two later my freckles are back. I was thinking an IPL but saw a lot of before&amp; after photos that recovered badly. What other laser? Whats best? Is IPL best for freckle removal? Feedback is very much appreciated!

Some patients will develop a horizontal line across the nose as a consequence of allergies.  The constant running off the nose makes some patients rub their nose constantly, the so-called "allergic salute."  This repetitive action can result in a horizontal crease from the rubbing.The best treatment for this is to control the runny nose.  An allergist could help with that.Once this repetitive action is stopped, the line should fade away.

Hello, I am a 25 year old female that has had this dark horizontal line across my nose for about 7 years now. Admittedly, it has become a lot worse within the past twelve or so months. Also, I do suffer from pet and seasonal allergies but I choose not to believe that there is no cure for this albeit my dermatologist said so. Also, when I wear makeup, the foundation or powder that I wear seems to sink into the crease. I have tried prescription retina A and 8% hydroquine. Please help!

Voluma is FDA approved for the cheeks.  It is injected deeply to give more volume/fullness/definition to the cheeks.Volbella is FDA approved for the lips.  However, it can be used off label in other areas to treat fine lines.  An advantage to Volbella is that it can be injected very superficially in very small amounts to "chase" fine lines.  This is the only manner in which Volbella would be used on the cheeks, to treat a few stubborn fine lines. If you want more volume or definition to your cheekbones, Volbella would not be a good choice.  It is too thin for that.  Sometimes I layer them in the same treatment session if a patient needs more volume in the midface and also has stubborn fine lines.  There is no need to wait before getting Voluma after you've had Vobella.Vobella lasts for ~1 year.

I recently had volbella injected to my cheekbones. I switched dermatologists and she recommended volbella over voluma (I used to get voluma), but the results aren't as dramatic as I prefer. I figured I should wait for the filler to dissipate prior to going in for voluma, but I'm curious how long volbella lasts? I also had some radiesse but under my eyes and she used the remainder of the syringe around the cheekbones for extra enhancement. How long should I wait before doing voluma?

You have very nice skin! That "more attractive" look could be achieved with higher/more prominent cheekbones and fuller lips, and less submental fullness.  I generally use Voluma in the cheekbones to give more definition, more of a very natural, "model" look.  As a bonus, it will generally last for 2 years.  Volbella is a subtle, natural filler for the lips that lasts a year and can balance out slight asymmetry in the lips.I agree with the Kybella recommendation in your neck.  You have a small amount of submental fullness (fat under the chin) that makes the jawline appear not so well-defined.  You have enough volume in your jawline already (so I don't think you need filler there), but removing the fat under the chin would make that area more attractive.Lastly, you asked about Botox.  You have very little in terms of "static" lines (wrinkles at rest when you are not making facial expressions).  You aren't moving your forehead, creating fine lines around the eyes, or furrowing your brow in these photos so it's hard to tell if you can benefit from Botox.  Most adults could benefit from a little Botox preventatively.  Just don't get too much because fine lines do not appear to be an issue for you. Best, Dr McNeill

I have thought about Botox to fill my cheeks and neck line, and Restalyne to make my lips look fuller but I'm not sure those procedures will give me the look I want. I'm simply looking for a more attractive and symmetrical look without making any drastic changes. Thanks for your feedback!

If the crow's feet area is completely frozen with Botox, when a patient smiles it can give this appearance.  The skin has to move somewhere, and generally it will crinkle up under the eyes if the crow's feet are completely blocked.  Once your Botox wears off a little, this appearance should dissipate.Also, you wrote that you had the Lyft placed "under my eye" "on the upper cheek."  The Lyft that was in your cheeks still appears swollen on both sides to me, which is probably compounding the Botox problem.  Once that swelling resolves, it should improve.

I had restylane lyft done under my eyes one week ago on upper cheek area as well as Botox on my forehead, crows feet and upper cheek. I still have very slight swelling under my left eye but I have acquired many more horizontal wrinkles under my eyes and deep indentations. I actually look older now. So will these horizontal lines go away if I wait a few weeks or can something be done to get rid of these new lines that have appeared? Can't figure out why this is happening??

You could achieve a nice high cheekbone and pointier chin with Voluma.  Slimmer jawline with maximal Botox and ultrasound (Ultherapy). Overall, I think that would give you the proportion you are looking for, and a more feminine look.Overall, I think this is the best use of these procedures-- feminizing the face and bringing out your best features!

Hi! About 4 months ago I received the Botox treatment for my jaw, approx 20 units per side. I noticed that my face did slim a little but not very noticeably. I feel that the lower part of my face looks a bit Jowl-like due to the masculine square shape, and was considering a zygoma reduction surgery in Korea. I know this is a highly invasive procedure and was wondering if there are any other options that will give me a more feminine face shape. Thank you in advance!

Excision is always the fastest.  It would be gone immediately, but leave a scar.  Luckily, in that location, the scar would be barely noticeable and likely heal very nicely.Laser would also remove it nicely.  The tattoo does not look dense.  My experience is that tattoos with this coloring, in this location treated with PicoSure go away often within 3 or 4 treatments, each about 1 month between.  The advantage would be that in general, there would be no scar, it would barely be detectable that there was a tattoo there.So it's really up to you to decide which is more important, speed or scar.

I have a small tattoo about an inch and a half long and need it gone ASAP so I can enlist in the Airforce. Since tattoos above the collarbone are prohibited would tattoo removal by excision or laser be faster and leave less of a scar.
