No Problem During the Procedure but Ouch!

I've followed the reviews regularly on this site and want to say thank you to everyone who's taken the time to post and update. Background: 51 yr old male with severe Hyperhidrosis since puberty. Had the procedure done on Tuesday at 3pm. The doctors office handled everything quick and efficiently. Only had to pay for one treatment at a time. First was $1,500.00 and any follow up $900.00. As mentioned, no real discomfort save about 2 needle injections. Could have driven myself home but opted for Lyft just in case. I iced as directed, every hour for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not use frozen water bottles! You are numb and can get frost bite. I was given Miradry gel packs that are working well. During the night I woke up feeling the effects of the treatment, iced again and took some ibuprofin and was able to back to sleep. The next day after the treatment (today) I have big pillows or swelling and it hurts. It's not unbearable but I would not recommend planning on going to work the next day or two. Give yourself a break..I am. Will update as regularly as I can. Fingers crossed it works! Updated on 26 Mar 2019: Ever since I first read about the process several years ago I knew this was something I wanted to try. I'm a 53 year old male with excessive hyperhidrosis. I can relate to almost every story posted here. But to the treatments effectiveness I am left a bit dissapointed. The nurse who met with and administered the treatment said to expect about 80%. This was not completely unexpected as many patients on this forum had said it was not 100%. Today, more than a year after the 2nd treatment I am still dealing with the issue although nowhere as significantly.  Best of luck if you decide to go forward.

Bromhidrosis, AWAY! Pasadena, CA

I've never struggled with excessive sweating; my main concern was persistent, strong odor. There are many reviews detailing the process of the procedure itself, so I'll skip that (it was complication free and everything was as expected for me) and talk about the RESULTS - it's been three days and I've stayed home for a long weekend...I did shower once each day, nothing applied on underarms. When I swipe my fingers on the underarms, the swollen parts didn't have any odor, but the 'folds' had an even worse odor than normal and a different kind of smell thats hard to describe (previously it was a strong musky, classic kind of body odor) now it has a slight spoiled milk kind of scent to it...I'm not sure if this will go away will update in a week.

26 Years Old,suffering from Hyperhydrosis Since 14 - Pasadena, CA

My story are similar to those you might already read in this review section. I've tried botox before but it didn't really help.I would just buy black shirts and just hide my underarms as much as I could. I went for MiraDry in Pasadena,Dr.Sasaki's office. Registered nurse,Debbi(not sure about name) performed this procedure.Office staff was pretty good;however, there are some details they forgot to perform: 1)prescription for 800 mg Ibuprofen which I luckily had 2) to schedule me for the second treatment I guess that ok since they have special for this moths and I payed only $2000 compare to other places which asks for at least $3000 for two sessions. Before procedure: 1)I did not take Ibuprofen and actually you don't really needed it 2)I shaved my armpits before 2-3 days 3)Did not apply deodorant 4)Wear tanks During procedure:My appointment was to 10A.M. I chose level 4,they warned me that recovery takes longer and pain will be greater than from level 3 but I didn't care and it was not a problem for my nurse to raise the level from 3 to 4. The shots for anesthesia were not too bad,I felt little uncomfortable but it was not a big deal at all. During actual procedure I felt little pain few times for 2-5 seconds probably, again not big deal. It took about 1 or so.I finished around 11:30. After procedure: My right arm began to swell about 30 minutes after procedure,my left arm-after 40-50 minutes probably. When I got home,I immediately put ice bottles and took one Ibuprofen 800.I did not have any breaks for ice, also I didn't have to go anywhere so I stayed home all day.The swelling get bigger after about 8 hours and it was bigger next morning.During the night I didn't experienced any pain.I also took another Ibuprofen before to go to sleep. I had school next day and honestly it was not fun because I could not really put my hands down and feeling the bumps underarms was quite uncomfortable.I kept icing before school also and took another Ibuprofen at morning.I didn't not have any pain. When I got home after school I felt that bumps got bigger,so I started icing again and bandage the underarm area with my Aikido belt lol it helps with swelling. Also I bought Arnica cream and applied it before I went to sleep. Today is the third day(Thursday,Procedure was on Tuesday) and I'm not sweating yet,I feel little sticky but not sweating;however,it makes me worry a little bit because, I guess, I supposed to be super dry at this stage, will see.The swelling is much better today and I feel little bumps but that's Ok not something that will make you super uncomfortable. So far so good.I expected pain and suffering but honestly its not too bad,my recovery goes pretty good.I will update results later. Updated on 4 Oct 2014: Updated on 4 Oct 2014: Updated on 4 Oct 2014: Updated on 4 Oct 2014: Today is day 4...My sweating is coming back,of course,it much less than it used to be but still.I was hoping for "dry" period of my life . Hopefully it will not increase with time, and yeah I was nervous and stressed little it might also triggered sweating, not sure yet...I dont lose my hope though Updated on 7 Oct 2014: My recovery goes pretty good, and I sweat but as a normal person cause its really hot in CA right now; any other time I might feel sticky but sweat stains are not noticeable, maybe just a little which is great compare to what I had before. Will see whats gonna happen next! But Im satisfied with results so far! Updated on 13 Feb 2015: My sweating came back entirely after first treatment after 2 months , maybe there was a reduction by 15-25% or so, very disappointing. So of course, I decided to go for the second treatment.I do not lose hope.We again used level 4.The swelling about the same, moderate pain, nothing really dramatic, everything is manageable so far.I will write an update in 2 months again so you will know the results. So far Im really dissappointed with results since it takes a while to recover after the procedure and it has quite high cost for such short term results. Will see whats gonna happen after 2 months... Updated on 5 Mar 2015: Miradry definitely doesn't worth money spent and pain. My sweating came back completely, so basically I spent 2k for nothing, don't hope that this treatment will help you if you have hyperhidrosis, worst money and time spent ever

Absolutely Amazing - Pasadena, CA

This is amazing. I was numb for the whole thing and felt nothing at all. I had a little discomfort the next day, but ice packs took that away. I haven't worn deodorant since and I have had not 1 drop of sweat. I am a runner and have run 2 half marathons since getting this done. Even after running for 3 and a half hours my under arms were completely dry. On a normal day I have no odor. I did smell after the race, but that is to be expected. I wear a cheap deoderant now when I am running. Before I always used the expensive clinical protection made for sports. The best part, I haven't noticed any increased sweating in other areas. I was afraid of this, but I haven't had a problem at all. I also have barely any under arm hair left. The few hairs I do have grow really slow now. I couldn't be happier with this procedure. It exceeded all of my expectations. I hoped to get to the point where I sweat like a normal person. I had no idea it was possible to stop sweating there completely. My birthday is next week and I asked for all silk shirts. Now I can finally wear them. I am so happy I got this done. I recommend it to everyone.

Mom of 4, Going in June 17th.... Scared. =/ - Los Angeles, CA

I just found this website and am thrilled to read everything you gals (and guys) have posted. I am a mom of 4 kids (9, 7, 5, 3) and had polyhydramnios with all four. (excess amniotic fluid, I measured 10 weeks ahead with all my kids and it ruined my tummy and skin!) My tummy has always been the tiniest part of me and the pregnancies have really done a number on my middle! I can't wait to have it repaired and look normal again. However, I am nervous. I suppose that's a natural feeling but I am trying to remind myself that excitement and anxiety often feel like the same emotion. I am VERY excited to have this done and also scared though.... lol. ACK! June 17th. My surgeon has a suite in the hospital for tummy tucks and major procedures so I'll be in the hossy for 1 or 2 days with round the clock help of nurses. After that my husband and bff will be on the clock with the kids and me for at least 2 weeks. I am all set...... just counting the days! Updated on 28 Jan 2011: All done, 7months post surgery and am very happy with my results. I will say, this is not a weight loss supplement, that's for sure. If you need to lose weight, you will still need to lose weight. Lol. Although my tummy is flat, I still have work to do on my own to make it what I want. A tummy tuck is a perfect solution for removing that gross "apron" from having babies. I am so happy to have a nice smooth torso with no rolls! Post surgery was extremely difficult for me. I woke up in tremendous pain. I was in so much pain I wished death. Ugh, it was awful. Apparently, that is not as normal as many people but I also wonder if people don't want to admit it. =X I admit, it was a very difficult first two weeks post surgery and still was very tender until about 8 weeks post. I had tons of post op visits for therapeutic ultrasound and microdermabration on the scar line. That was all inclusive with my surgeon and his practice. I would really shop for a surgeon that works hard for post operative results and care. I have no lumps or bumpy hard spots, no keloids, it feels and looks great. Get the pain pump if you have the option. It's worth it. Be prepared to be really totally out of commission for a solid two weeks. You cannot change diapers or lift a baby for weeks and weeks. If you have a kiddo who still needs lifting, even into a carseat, put the surgery off! Overall, I am thrilled I got my tummy tuck!

52 Years Old and Don't Want to Do Surgery. Pasadena, CA

I wanted to tighten my chin and neck area but don't feel I'm ready for a Neck lift. The procedure was beyond painful!! The Dr office did not give me any drugs to help with pain and I can say this is the MOST painful thing I have ever done!~ 4 Months post procedure and I can say that I have NO results from this procedure. I went for a 3 month post-procedure appt and they agreed...no real results. They said it was too bad because they knew it had been very painful for me. There is no refund and no results...I would NOT recommend anyone do this procedure!!
