I have suffered from atypical pain in my face for over 20 years. Dermatologists, Neurologists at UCLA, and ENT’s, diagnosed my atypical facial pain as Trigeminal Neuralgia and recommend neural surgery of the Vegas Nerve. I was turned off by this surgery when a neurologist at UCLA informed me that surgery would not guarantee a full recovery and there was a good chance that my condition would return.
I met Dr. Taheri 7 years ago. Words do not express my gratitude for him. After so many misdiagnoses, I’ll admit, I was leery, but desperate to get to the bottom of my medical problem. For the 1st time in over 20 years, I was correctly diagnosed. All along, my atypical facial pain was simply an over active oil gland that was putting pressure on my nerve. Dr. Taheri simply excised the oil glad and over 20 years of pain was gone. Just like that! It is unbelievable how close I was to having brain surgery when all it was, was an over active oil gland. Dr. Taheri took the time to listen to me, to review and discuss with me my past medical history. He got to the bottom of my problem. I will never be seen by any other dermatologist. Thank you to Dr. Taheri, I am now able to live a peaceful and pain-free life.
