3 month ago i did pearl laser on my cheeks, my scars are really not noticeable now but i still haave the track marks!!! like lines...im really scared, because it was 3 months ago. Now im doing medium peelings to try to fade it, but, is possible?

Try a little Botox about 2-3 units right under each four corner of your eyebrow. It's worth a try before you go cutting away. I would also say it will be hard for a plastic to take on lifting one side to get it exactly even, in other words the right may have to be made even higher than the left to plan for future natural falling of the right post surgery. It seems more challaging than it sounds. I have been amazed at how even after surgeries that have raised the eyebrows for removal of skin cancers that they settle back down lower to almost even with the unworked on side. Maybe a plastics or oculoplastic has a different input than this worth hearing.

I'm 33 yrs old and I have always had one eyebrow higher than another. My eyelids are a diff size as well. I've been to a dermatologist and was told that since my lower eyebrow has a weak muscle it cannot be lifted or fixed with Botox to even out my brows. So I went to a optomalogist surgeon to rule out pytosis and he referred to to a plastic surgeon. So my question is do I need a brow lift to fix my uneven brows?! I also have like 3 horizontal lines on the bridge of my nose that drive me crazy .

If retraction had occurred and the base had healed in as it appeared in the photo it is to late usually. If bed is still raw sometimes you can have a graft placed a week or a little longer out. 

The reply was " It looks like you have let this heal in secondarily. When you do that you can get retraction as when a wound heals it shrinks. How could I have had anything to do with allowing my nose to heal in seconarily and at what point in time would it not have been too late for a graft placement? Its only been 7 days since the initial surgery &amp; less than that when I asked my question.

It looks like you have let this heal in secondarily. When you do that you can get retraction as when a wound heals it shrinks. Thatt is why opting for graft placement may prevent this. Might be a little late for that. When you remove the cancer some of the nasalis muscle is cut and stromal tissue that holds to nostril patent or open is lost. Give it time but you can stretch is open with nasal packing at night and massaging in the daytime with Vaseline to help open it.

Theres a pronounced bump in the one with the surgery that wasnt there prior. Will the bump go away? Can anything be done?

I had a small basil cell carcinoma removed from my left nostril a wk ago.Now nostrils appear asymmetrical.Any suggestion?(photo)

I would imagine that if you call their office and they do the procedure you should be in good shape. Some specialize in certain procedures so they may not be interested in the closure. Usually MOHs surgeons that don't close their cases have some good surgeons lined up to do the task.

Would any plastic surgeon be able to close a basal cell carcinoma wound left by a dermatologist who does MOHS?

Your only 10 days out. You can have pillowing or pincushion effect for nearly 3 months and it will start to improve. Massage area, sometimes a little steroid injection thins things out. You have to give it some time but will improve.

MOHs done on the left side of nose, went directly to a plastic surgeon the same day to close. Had bilobed flap done & immediately saw nostrils were VERY uneven & lopsided. Stitches out at 5 days & steri strips put on. Currently at day 9 & nostrils have not changed. Doesn't appear to be too swollen. Will they correct? How long will it take? This is alot of distortion to live with at age 46. Not so worried about my scar anymore, but going through life looking like a demented Miss Piggy.

We in all honesty is sounds like you are over reacting. I would imagine you are just suffering from normal healing process and there should not be all the damage occurring that you are worried about. It sounds as one you are either over educated on wound healing and its dynamics or suffering from over googling bad outcomes. Give the process 3 months you should be fine. I don't want to be the one to foster any irrational take on what looks like a good surgery.

How do I slow down the serous drainage and lessen the redness. Nerves were damaged and I cannot smile or open my mouth to brush my teeth due to right sided swelling and nerve damage. I am assuming a motor and sensory nerve was involved. I am applying bacitracin on the wound 3 times a day. I also am having a reaction to tape used during the procedure, i am allergic to tape and i have quite an itchy rash on my chin. I am applying muciprocin to that area. I am also on BactrimDS prophylactically.

I had MOHS surgery on my right nare.The dermatologist had to go back 2 times to get the tumor with clear margins.Any suggestion?

Yes you can apply cover up know there are some great tinted sunscreens by Elta. You can also use a product like scar guard to help. It is still early in healing and it will continue to improve with time.

I am 5 weeks post Mohs surgery on my nose. I had a flap closure with 18 stitches that were removed at 10 days with no issues. The S shaped scar is red/white in the middle and a little bit raised at this point. When is it safe to use a skin colored makeup (with SPF) to cover up the redness when going out? Also, is Biocorneum helpful for flattening out the scar faster?

When can I apply makeup after Mohs surgery?

I would say it would be a bad option. It most likely will not remove hair follicles completely not giving you the normal temporal recessions or frontal forelock. Secondly you want to preserve the sparse forest of hair follicles you have. I have worked on several similar cases with Dr Dowling Stough in hot springs Arkansas. Whom is a great transplanter and innovator of the follicular unit transplant. I would suggest contacting him or someone of his caliber to extract the unwanted grafts with punch technique and move them to a more desired area. Don't waste them with a laser removal or the sort. This is a common issue with transplants that where not planned for natural age progression. At least consult with someone before you do anything. Best Adam

I wanted to get rid of my grafts, or move the hairline back. It is to low for my age and donor supply. I have small 1 to 3 hair grafts and my hairline is to low. I attached a pic for review. I know that using fue can be tedious requiring several passes. Thanks.

Most of the time a biopsy may remove a lump or a bump that is the tip of the iceberg. The cancer is underneath your wait until four months to have the procedure done should be enough time to tell you that is the case. No surgery is usually not a very good option or really to do nothing. You also have other options to consider if the thought of removal of your whole nose is more than you can fathom with a large peri median forehead flap. One would be radiation, not so good if the cartilage is involved. The other is to consider everidge treatment which is for inoperable cancers which is yours is really bad maybe hard to clear. This may not be bad to try if your waiting 4 months other than cost and some drug side effects. Just maybe somethings to consider your medical/surgical path is going to be best decided by you and your MOHs surgeon. Best Adam

I have a history of BCC. Fifteen years ago the left side of my nose has been reconstructed. A new BCC testing positive has appeared on the right side. It has taken four months to get scheduled for MOHs and separate reconstruction. There is now, no sign of the BCC. I want to wait for the BCC to reappear. The MOHS doctor has estimated extensive removal of the right center part of my nose with the probability of separate forehead flap surgery two days after MOHs. Is my plan to wait reasonable?

Can I wait to have MOHs until such time as such physical evidence of the BCC reappears?

I had botox and juvederm fillers for lips and frown lines.  Slight pin stick  pain at injection site during injections.  There is still swelling  a few days after treatment so to soon to tell if outcome is desirable.  The pain from the swelling gone by 2nd day and mo noticeable bruising.  There are bumps on the inside of lips I hope dissipate within a week or two.
