7 days post-op after Steri-Strips removal (ABSORBABLE sutures) I immediately discovered ~3/8 incision dehisence. Prior to this, recovery was easy and uneventful. My surgeon will put in a stitch today to correct. How common is this, and what can I expect in terms of scar prognosis? Also, how well do lumps and textures around upper lid incision resolve? For reference, I'm 53, non-smoker, healthy, fit, with very good skin texture. I also had trans-conjunctival lower bleph done same day. Thank you.
Ssince day 1 left eye more swollen than right . Anti B taken post pp continue tI'll 7 days . No exudate but swelling left eye far tighter and worse than right . Today applied warm compress and could see suture line open mid line not clinically infected . Suture removal tomorrow . Please advise if this will heal with steristrips or will it heal or will it require restore so scar neat. Many thanks for your advice
IS REVISION REALLY GOING TO HELP??? I am concerned if It will be better or worse. The stitches on my right eye opened on day 3 . I went back and had it taped up with steri strips. I have a bigger scar on that eye, the lid is lower and both eyes have way less lid. I couldn't shut my right eye all the way for months. They look lifeless now. I wish I didn't listen to the suggestion about doing my eyes the day before surgery. My eyes were my best feature:(
I had upper and lower eyelid surgery a few days ago. There seems to be a lot of steri-strips supporting my lower eyelids, which are really restrictive and uncomfortable. When I see photos of other people they seem to have a lot less steri-strips than me. I asked my PS about it, as the eye ointment I am using is soaking into the strips and making them greasy and dirty, but he just said use less ointment :( Is this amount of steri-strips normal?
