QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Hi Audrey, thank you for your question.  It is possible to tighten the skin on your neck and face in a non-surgical manner.  Our office performs Thermage, which is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that is done with heated radio frequency waves.

Thank you.

Hi Miss 22 Year Old!

Although I cannot see your creases in person, I have several comments. Creases can be hereditary, and are seen the best when giving a big smile. However, on examination, you would be asked if you have allergies or itchy eyes. The lightest rub to your eyes with your fingers or hands will cause these wrinkles. If this is the case, your answer is easy - apply a good moisturizing lotion around your eyes twice a day, use a lubricating eye gel at least three times a day to soothe them and by all means, avoid the urge to rub them.

In more mature faces, botulinum toxin can be used in the muscles around the eyes to prevent wrinkling on smiling or to achieve eyes that look more wide open. Fillers can be used in the hollow area below the eyes or tear troughs. It does not appear as though you need either. I hope this is helpful!

Discoloration is concern for many skin types. The more pigment you have, the more rebound and overproduction of melanin occurs after trauma or irritation.

Bleaching agents (hydroquinone) can be helpful but are to be used with caution. They easily cause excessive lightness, target rings around the area or a washed-out look.

Instead,  nurture the skin with a mild liquid cleanser and a ceremide lotion. At night, use  a good glycolic or lactic acid lotion on the areas to blend your skin tones back to normal. Be patient and consistent for success!

Nipple Color Coming Back? Help!

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Color changes can be slow to correct themselves, even months to years in some cases. Approaching the discoloration with nurturing rather than aggression would be best in this sensitive area. For example, rub baby oil on the nipple areas and apply a warm cloth for 5-10 minutes each night. Then gently apply a good moisturizing cream. Your natural color should return! Don't forget to avoid what scarred you in the first place and be patient and consistent with your care.

Great Results from Thermage for Eyes - Richmond, VA

I am 38 had Thermage for Eyes 3 months ago. According to my dermatologist, I won't see the full results for 9-12 months after the procedure, but I already see lift in my eyelids (they were heavy) and brow. The area underneath my eye has tightened too. I think Thermage is an awesome non-invasive procedure that corrects without looking fake or like you've had something done. The procedure took around 40 minutes and stung a bit in certain places. I went back to work immediately afterward. I didn't really begin to see any results until around a month after the procedure (it takes a while for the collagen in your skin to react), and I think that is the reason that Thermage gets so many bad reviews. For me, if was **definitely** worth it!

Uneducated Dermatologist - Richmond, VA

I'd like to know what type of dermatologist that knows you have allergies to fragrance gives you products to use WITH FRAGRANCE. I was a TEEN and now still having issues in my 30s! Took years for me to get my life back together as I went through face discoloration, an even worse breakout, and my skin turned worse and caused an allergy to water.

I am 36. - Love It! - Richmond, VA

I absolutely love the results. I am 36 and had asked my Dermatologist if there was anything that could be done about the small indentions underneath my checkbones and she recommended Radiesse injections. It not only corrected the sagging of the skin on my cheeks, but the circles/indentations under my eyes significantly improved as well. Dr. put a topical numbing solution at the site of the injection and then injected the product. She had to do a little massaging on one side to keep it in the right spot (tended to want to migrate up toward my eye a little) and I had some slight swelling on that side for the first 5-6 hours. It's now been over 24 hours and there's no evidence that I had anything done - except of course I look and feel a lot better.
