BACKGROUND: After losing 100 pounds (for those interested - I practice intermittent fasting) I have a lot of loose skin. Most of it is hidden away except for my face. I had extreme skin laxity predominantly under my chin, neck and jowl areas. Almost two years ago, I tried Kybella (destroys fat cells) and still had the loose skin. Then, I tried PDO threads to lift and promote collagen production. For the next couple of weeks, I experienced extreme tightness and some bruising. Unfortunately, I had too much loose skin for the PDO threads to produce the results I wanted.

CONSULTATION: During my consultation Dr. Chen was clearly a caring doctor who listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me options:

Option 1: PDO lifting threads

Results last 2-5 years - this procedure may require additional procedures to obtain my desired results.

Option 2: laser, liposuction and JPlasma

Results last 5-10 years - this procedure would provide me with optimal results.

Seeing as my previous experience with PDO threads did not provide me with desired results; I decided to go with option two. Also, I am the mother of three and at times my husband can be a fourth. Lol! I wanted to get it over with and not have to worry about any other procedures for a while.

Note: Dr. Chen had a calmness about him. I felt so comfortable with him that I scheduled an appointment for the procedure before I left the office. When you feel that comfortable there’s really nothing to think about.

PROCEDURE: I was awake throughout the procedure. The only thing I could feel was the numbing portion. During the numbing portion I felt a sharpness once. I let Dr. Chen know (noted!) and for the remainder of the 2 hour procedure I did not feel any sharpness and definitely no pain (only pressure). Occasionally, there was some blood that trickled down my neck but Dr. Chen kept it wiped up. I was completely comfortable throughout the procedure.

Immediately after the procedure there were visible results. My skin had magically tightened up! I felt a sense of happiness and gratitude surge through me.

RECOVERY: I needed to wear a head compression 24/7 for 3 days. That was trying but completely worth it! I rested a lot and only took half a tablet of pain medication (provided by office day of procedure). I am a week post-op and still have numbness under my chin which is expected to last up to two months. It’s also hard under my chin which Dr. Chen explained as new collagen production. This is completely normal and expected to subside within two months as well. He showed me the proper way to prep for and perform a light lymphatic massage to encourage drainage.

RESULTS: I was thrilled with day one results.

It’s important to know that I have extremely sensitive skin and usually bruise with fillers and Dysport. I did not have any bruising with Dr. Chen’s procedure. I’m certain this is due to his amazing technique coupled with steady hands and years of experience.

6 weeks: 80 to 90% of the results will be experienced within the first six weeks.

6 months: tightening will continue for the next six months.

FOLLOW-UPS:

1st: The day after the procedure I went in the office for a follow up. Ashley thoroughly checked my incisions/swelling and took pictures. She’s super sweet and answered all my concerns/questions. She also had me smile and open my mouth to ensure there was no nerve damage. I was in and out of the office within 10 minutes.

2nd: One week post-op - Dr. Chen checked my incisions/swelling as well as took pictures. He also checked for any nerve damage and went over what to expect (see recovery).

3rd: One month post-op scheduled

RECOGNITION: It’s only been a week and I am receiving compliments left and right. My sister was so ecstatic with my results that she already had a consultation with Dr. Chen and is scheduled for a different procedure this Friday.

That’s the most amazing thing about Dr. Chen - he’s an attentive listener who tailors procedures according to an individual’s desires for optimal results.

Of course, she’ll be having a less invasive procedure as her skin laxity is minor. But for her it’s major and we need to do what makes us happy. I am super excited for her and can’t wait to see her results!

Dr. Chen recommend that I would be a good candidate for a few Hyper diluted Radiesse Treatments for my sagging neckline. I completed my 2nd office visit today as he administered the 3rd syringe of Radiesse.

The treatment was pain free and upon leaving the office, I could proceed about my day with no downtime. Each treatment was $600. and the doctor and I noticed a positive change in my neck area within 6 weeks. Dr. Chen explained that full results are within 3 months.

He is very professional and does beautiful work, will definitely come back for future touch-ups, etc. I did the “y lift procedure. My cheekbones look like I’m in my twenties again, dr C is very artful.

Painless and fast Botox! I have been wanting to get rid of my forehead lines for a while. I was sacred but my friend finally convinced me into doing it. She referred me to Dr. Chen. Dr. Chen is friendly and efficient!

I have been going to Cupertino Medical Lazer Center for a long time, and I will continue to do so. Dr. Chen is really nice and honest. He tells me if he thinks I don't need a treatment or if a treatment does not work for me. All members are so sweet and kind. They always malke me feel so comfortable. My favorite part about being here is that Dr. Chen and Ashley seemed just as excited to see results as I was!

Dr. Chen is detailed and professional I appreciate he is skilled in his craft and focused to get the results you want. The office staff is wonderful , it’s easy to make an appointment and they are organized and warm. I love my Botox and filler results , and won’t go to anyone else.
