My acne may not have been the worst in the world but I'm already a shy person as it is, my mom left when I was a kid.. And it kinda messed up my self esteem, and that plus acne just made my life hell. I had it from 15-19. Finally after my freshmen year of college I called my dad one night to come pick me up... (he drove 4 hours to get me) when he got there I had a pimple so big my eye was shut and wouldn't open. That's when I called my grandpa ( a doctor) and said I really need help. He referred me to one of his friends who prescribed me 40mg of accutane. Now mind you I had literally tried everything to get rid of my acne (proactive, doxycycline, minocycline, tetracycline, sulfas, along with others none worked.) aft three months and a really bad initial break out my face became so clear it was AMAZING and after four months of accutane I finally had enough confidence I got my first girlfriend since I was like 15. It felt amazing really changed my life. Now here I am 22. Two years later and I couldn't be happier. My face still has the occasional one two three at the worst pimples sometimes, but I'm like a normal person with no acne now. It also removed 95% of the scarring and purple marks! AMAZING... I think all these people that have problems with it took too much mg of it. The most anyone should be on in my opinion would be 40, but I wouldn't even recommend that much unless you have it CRAZY TERRIBLE. Now I'm not gonna lie their are a few side effects to this drug, still to this day my face feels kinda dry and I have to put moisturizer on. And while I was on it my lips were really messed up, but it goes away when u get off it. And in the end what's better acne everywhere or a little bit of a dry face?... About a week after I got off the drug I had someone ask me if I wore makeup because my face looked so perfect... Lmao. I thought it was hilarious (I'm a guy). It made me feel so good because for once my face looked good. I also got called a red headed Ken doll. Lmao that was a funny one.
