I had a botched eyelid job by another nearby doctor that left me with fake-looking, uneven, and uncomfortable eyes. Fortunately, I found Dr. Chen who was able to fix some of the issues. He evened it out, lowered the crease, and improved the discomfort and headaches. It was a difficult revision since the first surgery messed up my eyelid anatomy quite a bit. If only I went to Dr. Chen in the first place, I'm sure my eyelids would've come out fine.
The best to do Asian eyelids. I wouldn't trust anyone else. The appts I have with him I seen many happy Asian people that had eyelid surgery of various age group in the waiing room area. He is very honest with everything. He discussed with me about realistic expectation. I know I can trust this doctor because his been doing this for many decade and is the true expert when it comes to Asian eyelids. I had referred other people to them.
Honestly, she was in Dr. Chen for and upper blepharoplasty was the best decision I have made regards to choosing the right plastic surgeon. I had consulted with two other doctors regarding the same surgery. One was a well renowned plastic surgeon from LA and the other one was an equally talented one from Wisconsin. The one from Wisconsin was actually the one who Who had recommended Dr. Chen to me because he said that Dr. Chen is the one who patented the blepharoplasty. Just even during my consultation with Dr. Chen, I knew I had made the right decision in coming to him. During the consultation, he was so easy-going, patient and an expert on the topic. He answered all of questions and made sure I knew exactly what he was going to do during the day of surgery. I'm from Kazakhstan, so Central Asia. Dr. Chen personalized the consultation to ME by the structure of my eyelid instead of grouping me together as "Asian" and working a generic plan for there (which is what the doc from LA did) During the entire process from entering his office for the consultation to leaving the clinic after surgery, I received exceptional care from the staff and Dr. Chen. My biggest concerns were that I wanted a high crease (he gave me 9 mms) 1) being able to close my eye without difficulty3) pain during surgery( it's surgery on my EYELID after all). The staff and Dr.Chen made sure that I didn't feel any pain/ anxiety during the surgery and I am able to close my eyes without any issues what's so ever. I had written an eloquent review but pressed the wrong button by accident and it all got deleted so this is the shortened version. Basically, if you're like me and we're worried sick about finding the best doctor who wouldn't botch your eyes up or make the surgery painful or just was just after your money, I would go with Dr. William Chen because he is truly the best of the best. He patented the surgery and it really shows that he is an expert in his field. I can not recommend him enough. Before the surgery, he gave me his personal phone number and texted me for any questions or concerns. After surgery, he contacted me again to see how I was healing. I am so thankful and lucky that I found Dr. Chen and his staff. Thank you all!
I had droopy eyelid surgery on my left eye done by Dr. William P Chen, Long beach, CA. My left eye was more droopy than my right eye and it did bother me, I look sleepy. So I decided to get it corrected. After research, I decided to go with dr Chen who is specialized in Asian eye lids. Next day after the surgery, I only had a little bit bruises, but the swelling is still there after a week. It's been 3 months my eye looks better than before, but since I didn't correct my right eye so it became asymmetrical. The left eye is bigger than right eye. I wish I could correct the other eye at the same time, but the dr said it wouldn't be able to correct much since the amount of the droopy is very little. Urggg..now the other eye bothers me now. I have to wear my eye glasses to cover the asymmetrical eyes. The recovery went smoothly and not much scar can be seen, but I can still see a little bit swollen after three month. I know I have to wait patiently to see the final result. I went back in September for post surgery appointment and need to go back again in Jan 2017. Hopefully by then the eye can look more natural. I had eyelid surgery with Dr. Chen and the results were not good. I had a lot of complications and scarring, and my eyelids were cut very unevenly. There is about a 2mm difference in incision height between the two eyes. He had ok bedside manner but my surgery was botched and now I have to live with a disfigured face.
