Having the CO2 fractional laser resurfacing was the BEST decision I ever made! I look 10 years younger. I had the in office procedure which took about 30 min and 45 min before that for the numbing cream. The procedure stung a little but it was very tolerable and the results are honestly just short of amazing! My daughter said that my skin looks "fake". My blemishes and acne scars are gone! And my skin is smoother and tighter. Forget expensive creams and peels. Laser resurfacing is well worth every penny!
I had a rhinoplasty done in November 2013 by Dr. Vasileff to get rid of a bump on the bridge of my nose and I also had my nostrils taken in slightly. It has been about 8 months since my surgery and I am very pleased with my results! Dr. Vasileff made me feel very comfortable, answered all my questions and cleared all my concerns. He is very knowledgeable and has many years of experience. His staff is very nice and caring. I have received countless compliments and have referred friends and family to Dr. Vasileff. The slope of my nose is perfect and my nose still looks very natural! After my surgery, I did have the normal bruising and swelling but I was back to work after a week and a half. I highly recommend Dr. Vasileff and his staff! :)
I had a rhinoplasty about two months ago. Before the surgery, my only real desire was that my tip be narrowed and projected upwards. My surgeon told me that I would need my hump reduced (which wasn't too noticeable) so that it wouldn't stick out post surgery. I was nervous because the hump wasn't a major issue. Instead of a hump removal, I requested a hump reduction so I could maintain some genetic characteristics and I also feared that losing the hump would "feminize" my nose. So in I went, under the knife... ...the results were great. He performed everything to my satisfaction. What's better, is that he straightened some nasal bones that became misaligned after I had broken my nose a few years ago. I didn't even know my nose actually changed shape from this incident, as I had no immediate pain. I was always wondering about the asymmetry and he resolved this. There was no pain and very little discomfort post surgery, mostly due to edema and some minimal bleeding, which only occured for the first couple of days. The swelling has decreased in record time, much ahead of the generally projected 3-6 months period. All that is left in terms of meeting the final result is some tissue thinning that he said will resolve in a few months. I believe the safe way to ensure a great surgeon is to consult a few and decide which one falls best in line with your thinking. My surgeon has been performing surgeries for about three decades, so experience definitely helps. He was completely honest about what could be achieved and did not try to sell me on anything. Jay
I had a full face treatment & have noticeable bruising on both sides of my chin in addition to swelling & tenderness. It hurt a lot, really a lot - more than I anticipated. I took 3 advil before I went & a topical was also rubbed on my face.
Good question. At one month after a rhinoplasty, your nose should look quite good. The tip will take many months to reshape completely, but it will not look larger than it did before surgery. The swelling in the upper third, around the bones, will mostly be gone. If your nose is done "open," the external scar may need a bit of makeup to hide it. My patients are always surprised after rhinoplasty that friends comment that they look good but don't notice that their noses are different. Good luck with your surgery and your trip!
Thanks for submitting your question and photos. Some minor improvements could be made to your nose with fillers. However, you are a much better candidate for surgical rhinoplasty. With the surgery, your bump could be removed, your nose shortened slightly, and the deviation to your left corrected. I recommend you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area who is very experienced with rhinoplasty to learn exactly what is possible in your case. Best wishes!
Your issue is a common one. Quite a few of my patients come in because their nasal tip droops with smiling. This can be improved, as well as the width of the nose. Family members will often say that there is “nothing wrong”. However, they are not seeing what you are seeing, and aren’t aware that small changes through rhinoplasty can make a significant difference.
The outside corners of the eyes (lateral canthi) can be modified. It is not just a “small trick” adjustment. It is called a lateral canthopexy, and involves surgically isolating the ligament under the skin. It is then tightened, and moved upward if necessary.
You should be able to have a facelift, depending on how much filler is in your cheeks. If it is a large amount of filler (2cc or more per cheek) I'd wait until it is mostly absorbed before a facelift procedure. Most surgeons prefer to use your own fat in your cheeks at the same time as the facelift. Fat is typically much longer lasting.
