I live in the Dallas area and looked into a "quick" lift in the area. I also met with 2 California surgeons before choosing Dr. OMara in Beaumont, TX. I could not be happier with the result. It took 10 years off my face and I don't look pulled too tight. I compared a picture of me now 44 to me at 33 and I looks like the clock has been set back on my lower face and neck.
I had a rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Omara and my results were less than desirable. Please keep in mind Dr. Omara is also an ENT doctor, not a full time facial plastic surgeon. My results look nothing like we discussed pre-surgery and I am very self-conscious now. I will have to go to Houston to get this fixed and wish I would have started with a Houston specialist from the beginning.
I am 8 days post-op. I have had a wonderful experience with recovery. I didn't need any pain meds besides some otc Tylenol to prevent pain, not to treat any pain. I was severely swollen and very bruised, but I knew that would happen because I bruise very easily and have fair skin. I am also very pleased with the results and my surgeon. Words of advice--You will be uncomfortable. I think we take it for granted that breathing through our nose is so much easier than breathing through your mouth. If your surgeon allows Afrin spray, use it. That was the only way I could clear my nose enough to swallow food and medication. Afrin can cause rebound congestion so use it sparingly. I believe I used it for the first 4-5 days. Don't be alarmed by pictures of bruising and swelling. It doesn't hurt. I would literally laugh at how horrible I looked! Your mouth will be dryer than ever and your lips will chap. Moisturize! I used the polysporin as a moisturizer for inside my nose and Vaseline globbed all over my lips. The cleaning of the nose with qtips and hydrogen peroxide is also helpful to clear out any debris. Basically, listen to your doctor, even if you don't think something will be helpful. I thought saline nasal spray would be useless, but I grew to love the stuff. If you do have severe bruising, consider using Dermablend. It was the only makeup I could find to cover these severe bruises. I also used an orange correcting pencil over the bruises before applying the Dermablend.
