Hello everyone! If you re considering Dr. Thayer with Vanderbilt Plastic Surgery, don't walk, RUNbecause he is the best!! I recently did review on him doing my breast reduction. I loved the results so my that I came back for a panniculectomy! Very similar to a tummy tuck... At my heaviest I weight 331 and my measurements were 60/60/55. I lost 140 lbs and my new measurements after breast reduction was 38/42/40. After stomach skin removal I am 38/35/40. This man snatched by body up so well! I can in with the expectation to look averagely cute (how I was in high school), unbeknownst to me he turned me into a bad bihhhh!! Both surgeries love that he uses surgical tape which helped prevent any openings while healing. As a brown skinned woman the scars are minimally visible and did not keloid. Again, I'm so pleased it's my results. When I was younger, I never looked this good and had curves like this!! (Mind you I weigh the as I did in high school right now)
This was the best experience ever, and I plan to have more work done by Dr. Thayer! My breast were originally 46H. After weight loss, I lost almost all volume and got down to a 40H. I was really scared and wondered what my new breast would look like....like will they be really small.... do I have enough fat for volume.... They turned out better than I hoped!
I am SO GLAD I did this! I am so pleased with the results and how I now look. I just wish had not waited until my mid 60's and had done it sooner. Dr Wesley Thayer (Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN) MORE than exceeded my expectations! It was a wonderful and great experience for me.
At my heaviest, I was 220 pounds. I"m 5'1" so I was fat, lazy, depressed and not motivated. I became a diabetic. Insulin Dependent. My Father died from complications of diabetes. That was it. I began to lose weight. For four years, I worked myself. I lost 80 pounds. The skin was folded over on my stomach. My breasts were sagging from nursing three children for a year each. My husband left me for another woman. No longer insulin dependent, my endocrinologist was very happy. I have been insulin free for 7 years now. No pills, no nothing. I met with Dr. Thayer for a consult. I had an abdominal - plasty, and breast augmentation. I wanted Dr. Thayer to put my breasts back where they belong and get rid of the extra skin. He did it at the same time. He gave me some of the best compliments that anyone has ever given me. I followed the directions about weight lifting, etc. to the letter. He was able to give me my pre-pregnancy nipples back! I could not be happier with the result. I went from a size 14 on May 30 to a size 4-6 in July. My breasts are perky and full. It's amazing to look at them. Go to every followup visit. He was so professional and respectful and listened to all the questions I brought to him. His staff is top notch and helped me with other questions. I would highly recommend Wesley Thayer!
I had nothing short of an amazing experience. It took a total of 3 appointments: consultation, surgery, and post-op. I couldn’t be more happy with the results and compatssionate service! Thank you Dr. Thayer and nurses!

I just received a Abdominoplasty/Panniculectomy and Dr. Thayer did an amazing job, I was so happy with my results 4 days after surgery. I'm now post one week out from surgery and I'm amaze every day of my results. The staff was very informative and caring and I would recommend Dr. Wesley Thayer to do your Plastic Surgery if you want the best.
Dr. Thayer was absolutely amazing! From the first consultation to the day of surgery to my follow up appointments he was very professional and honest. He seemed very genuine and gave me realistic expectations for my tummy tuck. I am a little overweight so he told me I may still notice a little fullness in my belly but I barely notice it at all. He also did some liposuction to my sides and back and now I have an amazing hourglass figure, I never would have dreamed I would have. He is so talented. I asked him about other areas that I was interested in having surgery on and he helped me prioritize what would be best to start with and never tried to sell me more than I wanted. Best doctor I have met in years! I will definitely be back after the amazing results I got with this first surgery.
My surgery was just yesterday so I am not sure how I like the result (haven't seen them yet), but already feel so much lighter. My girls were 36G and that was from bras that were fitted 2 years ago and the underwire had stopped going between so probably was even larger. I wanted to go to a 36B but my surgeon said it was probably going to be a 36C so he didn't have to mess with the nerves or cause necrosis. I just said a million times to go as small as he could. He told my husband after the surgery that he hopes I am not disappointed that they won't be itty bitty. I wanted this surgery to relieve back pain, be able to exercise without flopping, to be able to wear cute shirts for the first time ever, so be able to buy a bathing suit at a regular store without a full underwire granny bra. I turned 38 on Tuesday so this was a kind of birthday present. Also, I have been avoiding a colostomy bag post-radiation in 2008 for many reasons. One is vanity. So I thought maybe I would get up the gumption to get that done if my boobs weren't in my lap too. Jury is still out on that decision. I love to swim so I don't know what to do on the bowel incontinence front. And my best friend just had a baby at 38 and I watched her baby for a week at her house while she recovered from a tummy tuck and lift/implants. Her going through with it and not dying gave me the courage. I wish I would have done this sooner, but I had so many cancer surgeries at 32-34 that I was not ready for more surgery. I absolutely cannot wait to loose my back fat now so I can buy cute shirts!!! Updated on 9 Apr 2013: Just got my bandages off and drains out! With my history I have to do heparin shots for 5 days. But I get to shower!! I will post pictures soon.
Combo surgery for cervical cancer-related hysterectomy with correction of umbilical hernia and diastasis recti scheduled for December 7 in Nashville, TN. I look 4 months pregnant all the time and since I’m having my uterus taken out I would really love if nobody ever asked me if I was pregnant! I have a really high belly button and not a ton of loose skin so a small vertical incision may be made.
Please contact your surgeon for instructions. In the meantime, I would continue to clean the area once or twice per day. Then cover with antibiotic ointment and a dry gauze to absorb the fluid. If the area opens widely, it may need packed w gauze. Although rare, this type of wound usually heals well with proper care.
Hello and congratulations on your weight loss! Based on your photos, the procedure that would give you the best result would be a Brachioplasty. Cool sculpting would remove some of the fat but would result in more excess skin and I think you would be disappointed with your result. A brachioplasty would remove the excess skin and tissue and give the arms better contour. I recommend meeting with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss all of your surgical options. Good luck!
After Breast Augmentation, activity and bra choice are important for you outcome. . As long as you are not lifting anything heavier than 2-5 lbs or doing anything strenuous during the early postoperative period you should be ok. I also limit lifting to shoulder height only. Most plastic surgeons will recommend 4 weeks of lifting restrictions before resuming strenuous activity. Most surgeons have a preference for the type of bra you wear depending on your incision, your size, and shape, and other factors. The bra worn should not place any significant pressure on the incisions but should help stabilize the implants without compressing your breasts too aggressively. Most surgeons defer bras with wires for a few months after surgery at least.
Loss of lactation after breast augmentation or other breast surgery is usually a consequence of loss of sensation. Even if your breast makes enough milk, without sensation the milk may not be released from the breast. The chance of loss of sensation after augmentation is low but can be increased with certain types of incisions and certain implant locations. Periareolar incisions and subglandular implants may have increased risk of sensation loss, but it can happen with any type of augmentation. Also, your surgeon's overall dissection technique can play a role. You should discuss these concerns with your surgeon before surgery. Good luck!
Swelling after abdominoplasty is not unsusual. This swelling can take up to 6 months to resolve. You need to see your surgeon though and make sure that you do not have a fluid collection or other issue.
