I can’t thank you enough for this! The surgery and support I’ve received from Dr Heckman and his team was amazing!!! This sugery has been seriously life changing and I’m very grateful to have gotten done! He has done an excellent job at not only walking me through the steps but also ensuring that I have had a successful recovery as well! My only regret is not doing it sooner! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the amazing work you’ve done!
My skin cancer on the side of my nose. Was too bad for the plastic surgeon in Lincoln to do the closure. So my dermatologist Liz Sutton contacted Dr. Wes Heckman to do it. What a God sent that was! It’s been almost 3 months and Dr. Heckman is an amazing plastic surgeon. He also has great bedside manners. He’s the BEST in Nebraska!
I had a TCA peel to lighten age spots and improve the texture of my skin. I was also concerned about the reoccurrence of skin cancer Dr. Heckman had previously removed (he did an amazing job with that) from my face. The procedure is quick-- I was in an out in less than an hour--but pretty uncomfortable (the prep solution smells horrible and irritates your eyes and the TCA solution stings). Definitely ask for post-procedure pain meds to cover a few days to take the edge off so you can sleep. Recovery is annoying, not painful, after the initial swelling goes down in 2-3 days, with itching you can't scratch being the biggest challenge. I didn't socialize for 2-3 weeks after the procedure due to peeling and redness. You have to be religious about staying out of the sun--I wore a broad-brimmed hat absolutely everywhere--for the first 6 months. I still wear SPF 60 every day, even in winter. The spots will come right back if you keep exposing your skin as you did in the past. I would absolutely tough it out again as this procedure is totally worth it. My skin is completely rejuvinated with better texture, tone, and a more youthful appearance.
Dr. Heckman was very thorough in his explanation of the procedures I had (brow lift and upper and lower lids). Surgery and recovery went very well. His staff is excellent. His nurses answered my phone calls and texts quickly when I had questions afterwards. The office handled all the Medicare paperwork so everything went smoothly. I am very happy with my whole experience and would do it again.
Dr Heckman and his PA Ann Story and Staff are so awesome. From the time you walk into the office and see the Dr everyone makes you feel so comfortable with his bedside manner. All your worries are gone. Dr makes sure all your questions are answered and goes over the procedure to make sure you know what he will do. And recovery time. My family and friends are just amazed how well my lip reconstruction went. You cannot even tell I had surgery. The site healed so well. I will definately refer my family and friends to Dr Heckman . And I will go back back if the need arises.
I highly recommend Dr.Heckman! I am almost a year post surgery & everything looks/healed like I had hoped. Everytime I go in for checkups, I really enjoy talking to him and his staff. They always make sure to answer any questions or concerns that I have.
For as long as I can remember, I have always had issues and trouble breathing out of my nose. My ENT referred me to Dr. Heckman to discuss what would be needed to fix my breathing issues. Dr. Heckman assessed my nose and suggested that I would need a septoplasty, rhinoplasty and turbinate reduction to help my breathing issues and fix my deviated septum. During my consultation with Dr. Heckman, he took his time answering all of my questions and made sure I understood exactly what was going to be happening in these surgeries. He talked about the surgeries in a way that I could understand and also made sure that I was comfortable with what would be happening. For me, my number one priority going into this was that I would be able to breathe better rather than the cosmetic look of my nose (though I did want it to look good without having to make major cosmetic changes). The day of my surgery, I met with Dr. Heckman before we went into the procedure, and again, he talked me through what was going to be happening and answered any questions I had. When I woke up from surgery, I felt as great as I could’ve and spent the following week resting and recovering. Overall, I would say I had a great recovery process! I had minimal bruising/swelling and when I got my cast off a week later basically all of the bruising had already faded away. I am extremely happy with my results - not only can I tell such a difference in my breathing but I love the way my nose looks as well. I can now take deep breaths in and out through my nose and breathe normally. It has seriously been life changing. I would highly recommend Dr. Heckman if you are looking to get any of these surgeries done. Not only was he extremely professional, but he also made me feel very comfortable and confident with choosing him as my doctor. As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway
Dr. Heckman was great. He took all the time that I needed to explain exactly what he was going to be doing. It was a very scary surgery for me and he and his staff made the day of the surgery a lot easier.
Dr. Heckman injected Restylane filler into my tear troughs and I am beyond pleased with my results. Dr. Heckman is not only professional he is very personable as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Heckman!
Trauma to nose over the years left me with deviated septum and the tip of my nose crooked. It also caused problems breathing, constant sinus infections and ear congestion. Our local ENT referred me to Dr. Wes Heckman at UNMC. After meeting with him at the Village Pointe location, I felt confident in his abilities to fix my nose and decided to go ahead with the surgery. The surgery was approximately 5 hours and I was able to go home within 2 hours of waking up. I did not have any problems post op and healed as expected. It is now 6 months post op and I could not be more pleased! Updated on 26 Mar 2018: This is a before and after picture taken 16 months after surgery. Very pleased with the results! Recently visited my local ENT doctor and he was amazed at the changes on the inside / open airways /straight septums ... I am thrilled with the changes on the outside!!! Updated on 26 Mar 2018: Sorry not sure what I did wrong, pic isn't posting.
Thanks for the question. Based on your profile view that you have provided I would say that you have an overrotated and overprojected tip. Simply deprojecting your nose would bring your nose closer to your face but not address the rotation of the tip of your nose or address your dorsal profile that would need to be adjusted with changing your rotation and/or projection of the tip of your nose. I would recommend the following: Reduce your dorsal profile (decrease your nasal facial angle), Counter rotate the tip (rotate the tip down), and slightly deproject the tip of your nose. These maneuvers would help bring your nose into better harmony with the rest of your face based on the profile photo you have provided. The above is a simplified plan based on a single photo and there are other maneuvers that may also be required. Consultation in person is always most effective to ensure that you are comfortable with the surgeon and that your concerns can be fully understood and hopefully addressed. Hope this helps and good luck
