The answer... is possibly. It all depends on the type of crown and the type of cement used. If the crown feels higher than your other teeth, or it starts to feel loose and/or "rock" you need to go back in and have he or she look at it. 

IPR basically aids in the movement of your teeth. By removing <0.5mm from a tooth, it can move dramatically faster. Most patients do not and will not ever notice that the IPR has been done, except that it makes it easier to floss. It will not stop your Invisalign treatment from working, but it might prolong the case.

Ask your dentist if they can adjust the tray in order to help with this "protrusion" issue. But, honestly, you'll only be wearing the trays a short while, so think of it like a temporary discomfort for a worthwhile result! :)

It's definitely possible that Invisalign will correct the gumminess of your smile; however, if the end result isn't exactly what you want, you can always do crown lengthening. Ask you dentist about this and other procedures! Good luck!!! :)
