I have been going back and forth with getting this done for some time now... I'm a 34 year old, 5'2', 164 pounds, mother of four. After my first two kids I worked hard to get rid of the baby weight. Just when I was approaching my goal weight, I found out I was pregnant with twins. Not long after the twins were born, I was back to working off the pounds... Now two years later... I am happy with the inches I have worked off every where, except my stomach. I eat fairly well, workout regularly, make sure to get in my cardio and core work, but it still won't budge. I'm not looking to get back to my 25 year old self, before all the kids. To tell you the truth I like having some curves in the right places. I just want to be able to leave a fitting room without disappointment, because of how my side profile looks. Finally, with the encouragement of my husband to do what makes me happy and knowing that he loves me and my body no matter how I may feel about my own appearance, I made my appointment. I had my consultation 2 weeks ago and my procedure is scheduled for next Thursday the 10th. My Dr. thinks I am a good candidate for a Tummy Tuck, but I don't want to do a full on surgery that has that much down time. I've got my meds and garments. He is considering doing a double garment, since I am not getting my flanks done and my tummy may be prone to loose skin because of my last pregnancy. So I have a medical grade garment and one from the department store. Now, I am just waiting until the date. I will make sure to post pics, since everyone else photos have been hugely helpful and motivational. Updated on 10 Jan 2013: So today was the day. I am still on pain meds so this may be a little loopy. All in all, everything went great. The Dr. was able to take out around 3000ccs in just my upper and lower abs. Still to early to tell if it was worth. My pain fact was more than normal, due to scar tissue and muscle separation from my last pregnancy. That is the only reason that, I would say i wouldn't go through it again. I will say you can see an immediate difference in that area, so that is good. I am also leaking A LOT. Which I guess is also good. Drifting off so i will end this now. Happy healing to all. Updated on 11 Jan 2013: Last night was rough, more so because it was hard to hear my kids calling for me and me not being able to help. The Hubby thought it would be best if I confined myself to our room, since a two year old really wouldn't understand why mommy can't pick them up and what not. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but this definitely put that to the test. I thought wearing the garment would be the toughest part to handle, but that is actually my saving grace. When I remove it to change my dressings, that is the only time I really feel the pain, but the meds are helping. I will say i am glad that I did have the extra garment. After the first several hours I already needed to wash the one I came home in. Out of sheer luck I just happened to still have a box of the pads that they give you to wear in the hospital, so I have been using those as dressing. It is catching the majority of the leakage a lot better, but I can't wait to take a shower. I will try to post my before pictures, so you can at least see where I started from. Take care everyone! Updated on 13 Jan 2013: Today has been a much better day. The leaking has just about stopped and I only feel a little discomfort when I get up and down. I have been able to get back to most of my daily routine with only needing a few breaks here and there. The itching has started, so I guess that is the next hurdle. I'm back to work tomorrow...hopefully that won't be too bad. I will see the doctor again sometime next week. Maybe there will be enough of a change to update my pictures. Take care all. Updated on 17 Jan 2013: Here are the one week post ops. Not much of a difference, but I don't have my expectations high for the first week. I can tell a difference in how my clothes fits so that is a move in the right direction. Take care. Updated on 25 Jan 2013: I know I am only 2 weeks in, but I am definitely feeling like it was worth it. For the first time since I can remember I was able to have an amazing shopping experience. I didn't want to stop trying things on because they were finally looking how I pictured it to in my head. I know I still have a lot of healing to do, but I am happy with the progress I have made. I am down 5lbs and now I can pull my jeans off without even unbuttoning them. Hence the shopping trip...I have very little if any discomfort. I am regaining feeling in my mid sections so, I notice sensations there every now and then. My stomach is pretty hard. I am making an effort to massage it often and that seems to be helping. I will try to post updated pictures soon.Take care all. Updated on 15 Feb 2013: Finally was able to carve out some time to give an update. I am now 5 weeks post op. I haven't seen much change but I have gotten the okay to workout, so I think that will help move things along. I'm still continuing to think positive and I am still happy with the change I have seen so far. Updated on 25 Mar 2013: Just giving a quick update. I know it's been awhile. I am still happy with my progress as slow as it may be. I am still wearing a garment and I have done several vaser shaping treatments. Both have helped with reducing loose skin while I am healing. Recently I have started seeing a personal trainer who works with where I had my procedure done. I figured it would help to maximize the benefits of my increased metabolism for the next 6 months. He is great and I can tell our sessions are making a difference. Since he knows about my procedure, he knows exactly what to target with our workouts. I haven't gotten back all the feeling in my mid section so this is really helpful. I will try to remember to add some new pics before the week is up. I hope everyone is healing well.
