I feel truly blessed to have chosen Mr Venkat Ramakrishnan for my large tummy tuck surgery. From start to finish I always felt in the best possible and professional hands. Clearly Mr Ramakrishnan is extremely experienced but he is also extremely approachable with a gentle and reassuring bedside manner. I am thrilled with the results and would obviously thoroughly recommend him to anyone considering such a surgery. The final plus point is how well respected he is at the Brentwood Nuffield Hospital and it was lovely to hear the nurses and staff speak so highly of him. A total 5* experience all round!
Tummy tuck with Mr Ramakrishnan - answered all 40ish of my questions, excellent care before and after, very pleased with my result - nurses were excellent and took great care of me. Happy mummy tummy now!
Following a mastectomy and breast reconstruction 13 years ago, I needed revisions due to a leaking implant and asymmetry. Mr Ramakrishnan was recommended to me by my previous Harley Street surgeon. The process was faultless from even before my initial consultation, when my original surgeon and Mr Ramakrishnan took time to talk about my case. I found Mr Ramakrishnan very thorough and caring - he explained the options, operation, risks and recovery process very clearly. He listened to me and understood what I wanted to achieve, but was realist and set my expectations well. He put me at ease during the operation and I am very pleased with the results. The aftercare has also been thorough. Mr Ramakrishnan's secretarial and nursing support staff were extremely helpful and punctual. Overall I felt that I was in very safe and experienced hands throughout the process and would definitely recommend this surgeon. I would like to thank Mr Ramakrishnan and his team for working so hard to get the best outcome for me.
A very good experience from start to finish. Mr Ramakrishnan put me at ease every step of the way & I felt very well looked after. The hospital was clean & the staff were wonderful. I would recommended Mr Ramakrishnan to anyone who was considering plastic surgery
Deciding to have pinnaplasty was the best decision I have ever made. The support and care from Dr Ramakrishnan and his team was amazing. He allowed me to make a decision with as much time as I needed and always encouraged me to ask as many questions so I knew exactly what the surgery entailed. The whole process from the initial appointment to the surgery follow up appointment 7 months on has been amazing and I am so happy I decided to have surgery!
I researched 3 consultants for my operation and decided on Dr Ramakrishnan as he made me feel at ease, i was giving the best treatment and after care and am over the moon with my results. Highly recommended.
I was referred to Mr Ramakrishan by my oncologist Mr Bradpiece when it was discovered that I had cancerous tumours in both breasts. Mr Ramakrishan gave me an understandable and thorough breakdown of my options so that I was able to make an informed decision about the course of treatment that I should follow. I decided to have a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction ("tug flap") as part of the same procedure which lasted about 9 hours. I feel very lucky to have been treated by Mr Ramakrishnan and his team. It is obviously very traumatic to be told that you have breast cancer but the reassurance I received from Mr Ramakrikshan and the members of his team made the experience much much less frightening than it could have been. After the operation I expected to be in some pain - I wasn't - some discomfort but nothing else. The results of the surgery far exceeded anything that I could have expected and I cannot thank Mr Ramakrishan and his team enough. The care I received was exceptional from all members of the very decidated team.
Having had two sets of implants and an uplift, I was keen to have my implants removed for health reasons, however I was extremely worried that I was going to be left with extremely saggy breasts after removal of large implants. Professor Ramakrishnan discussed my options clearly and thoroughly and asked me to return for a total of 3 consultations prior to making a decision. I had spent hours on the web, trawling through hundreds of stories of people who had gone through a similar process and was particularly scared of having the implants removed with no immediate uplift but Professor Ramakrishnan advised that the risk of nipple death was higher than usual due to the amount of previous surgery I'd undergone and therefore he thought it best I simply had the implants removed and let them settle before planning an uplift. Turns out I don't need an uplift and the result is better than I could ever have expected! I've regained my old breasts despite 15 years of having implants and at last feel "normal" again. No more bras cutting into my shoulders, no more having to wear a bra at night and no more bounce when I exercise. At last I can finally resort to buying bras/swimwear off the shelf as opposed to mail order/specialised shops! I went from a 32GG to a 34E. I was particularly worried about scarring but I needn't have been as the new scars are actually better than the old ones from previous surgery. Professor Ramakrishnan was extremely patient with me and care pre, during and post surgery was excellent. I would strongly urge anyone thinking of having a similar type of surgery to consult with him.
Professor Ramakrishnan is a true professional. He insisted on 3 consultations to make sure I was 100% happy with my procedure (breast reduction, tummy tuck with muscle repair), and provided me with the facts to allow me to make my own decision. He performed my surgery in 4.5 hours which is amazingly fast! I knew the second I met him he would give me the best possible results for me and he did not disappoint! I haven't had a stomach like this since I was a child and I nearly cried when I first saw my breasts - incredible work! He came to see me twice after operating to check on me and came in to see me on his day off to satisfy himself ready for my discharge. I am 10 days post op and have already seen him once for a wound check which he was very happy with. He gave me plenty of post operative advice to ensure a smooth recovery.
This was my first time having any kind of surgery but Professor Ramakrishnan was excellent throughout. I felt comfortable from the initial consultation to the follow up appointments as he thoroughly guided me through every aspect of what to expect whilst giving his honest advice. The whole team and nurses were very friendly and the hospital took very good care which made me feel very comfortable on the day. It's safe to say I felt at ease with the professionalism from the Professor and believe I got the best care possible and I'm very happy with the results!
There will be some improvement of this with the implants sinking down and the swelling in the breast tissue reducing with time. However, I feel that the problem is one of excess skin. This maybe corrected later with an uplift. Usually, increasing the size of the implant is not a good plan as this would mean a very large implant, to be able to take all the slack in the skin envelope. It is important to wait for at least ix months before any plans are made.
Your symptoms are normal. there is no need to massage the flap. the hard areas will soften with time and are due to edema in the flap, ie. build up of fluid. the pain is due to nerve recovery and you will have some vague pains for a period of few months.
Infection is a well recognised problem with all surgery and particularly with one involving a foreign body such as an expander. However, the history you have given, of rapid onset is very unusual. Only thought here is about the virulence of the organism causing the infection.
